What do you think about the existence of a platform that tells you what retail outlet(be it a supermarket, store or shop) that sells a specific item and at what price. Therefore you won't have to jump from one place to another asking if they sell itemX and at what price.

Well obviously the platform would require a lot of hardwork , secondly I don't really care about profit for now because any platform with a lot of user traffic will surely gain at some point and most importantly let me worry about how I'll get all the stores to update on the platform, my simple question was how do you feel(as an individual) about a platform that allows you to do the above.

Here's what I think, before you go far building a WebApp,
Validate this idea, don't make assumptions. Carry your users along, [bl]et them shape the idea for you.[/b]

Tell people what you want to achieve then
Create surveys, ask questions, for business owners
Ask if they are willing to use an app that does xyz
Ask if they are willing to upload products on an app that does xyz
Ask if they are willing to pay for an app that does xyz
Ask what other feature would they like to see in app that does xyz
Ask if they willing to tell a friend about an app that does xyz

Don't stop here

For the customers
Ask how often they use the internet to search for product
Ask if they will like an app that does xyz
Ask if they are willing to pay for an app that does xyz
Ask what other feature would they like to see in app that does xyz
Ask if they willing to tell a friend about an app that does xyz

Don't stop here

Why do you need to do this,
1, you are getting public acceptance
2, you are building a customer base of users ready to use your app

If you can get people to answer this survey and the feedback is good, keep them in the product development process. Let them feel special like part of a community, some of them might eventually become your first product adopter
