Hello, I have been following the thread for quiet a while now and decided to share my success story to encourage someone.
My US visa expired July last year and I tried to renew it in October but was called for interview after doing Dropbox. The category had changed to a B1/B2 as I had the intention of using it for childbirth this year. The Visa however was denied. VO said the hospital I chose in Houston was fond of defrauding Medicare. The denial shook me for about 3 hours but I picked myself up and started the Canadian Visa that same day.
First I answered the questionnaire and noted the documents that was required and went about gathering them. This time my husband was the Principal applicant and then my daughter and I dependents.
About 2 weeks later I was ready to submit the online application. Here are a list of documents submitted.
Employment letter
Bank statement of 3.1M
House documents
Letter of introduction from his office
Marriage certificate
Travel history
Invitation letter from my cousin with her tax forms and driving license
Travel itenery

These documents were basically all his as they didn’t request for mine or my daughters’ except for the immigration forms we filled

My timeline :
Sunmittted: 22 Nov 2018
Biometrics: 27th Nov 2018
Approval mail ( RFP): Dec 5th 2018
Submitted: Dec 6th 2018

I had thought it would take less than 5 days for the stamped passport to be returned. But December ended!! To say it didn’t test my faith would be a big lie! I tracked my passport everyday!!! And finally
Stamped Visa: Jan 4th 2019

All 3 of us were given Visas: Hubby 2 years, me 3 years, my daughter 4 years!
Leaving for Canada next week! Meanwhile I had booked my flight since I got the approval mail!! I wasn’t going to take a NO!!! So yeah thats my long story!! Keep the faith! Be positive! And go ahead... Wish everyone a positive story this new year

congrats @gingalady

I looked at the processing time for visitors visa and it’s showing 69 days. Any idea if this is for paper applicants as it seems rather long.

Also I was wondering , if there’s one sponsor with dependent (wife) , do they need separate online profiles ?

Thanks in advance

That’s an average and every application is perculiar. Mine was processed in 1 week just the passport return took almost a month cos of Xmas holidays. All 3 of us had just one application profile

Ah I see, it’s just I thought there were separate timeline for online and paper application before and now there’s just one timeline ? Or am I mistaken ?

This is actually for my parents and last time they applied i believe it took 3wks to process and 1week to get back passport. But that was in 2016

Thanks for your response

Hi beautiful people,
A little bit of a success story and some questions as well.
I applied for my mum to visit me in Canada on October 12, 2018 (I applied for a 3 month visit). Biometrics done October 24. Original Passport request: December 7. Visa about 5 days after.
I must admit I was initially bothered because she was not asked to do a medical test and thought she would be given less than 6 months but she got almost 2 years (to passport expiry).
Online app:
Documents submitted:
Pension statement
For me was just a letter from my employer showing I was employed and my yearly pay.
Letter of invitation.
Letter of sponsorship
Plus all online documents required.

My questions:
Is it advisable for her to stay more than 6 months? Saw something about not staying more than six months at a time even they give you a number of years.
If she can stay more than 6 months, must she book a return ticket? Will a one way ticket create issues at the point of entry.

Thanks for your help guys. smiley
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Peaceful2016(f): 7:49am On Jan 08, 2019
Since she didn't do medicals, her visa allows her stay in Canada for 6 months at every visit... I'm guessing she can always go to Yankee and come back and let another 6 months start counting grin
Seniors correct me if im wrong

I have been corrected that the above is not correct.. there r laws against it

Congratulations....

Return ticket is almost mandatory for a smooth POE experience on her way into Canada. TRV doesn't permit more than 6 months stay, it's got to be less than. Or is it a SUPERVISA for parents you did for her?

Good afternoon people,

Happy new year and best wishes for the year.

Please I need your help and insight into my matter.

I had applied to the Canadian embassy for a visit visa on the 20th of June 2018 and got my application rejected due to the fact that the visa officer wasn’t convinced of my returning back to Nigeria.

The reject was as a result of my error. I erroneously left out my ties to my company.

However I put in another application on the 20th of August explaining my error, providing sufficient information linking my ties to my organization but since then I haven’t gotten any feedback from the embassy.

I sent them a web form on the 6th of December stating that my application had exceeded normal processing times but no response from them till date.

Please I will appreciate it if anyone can advice me on what to do.

I just need a response from them even if it’s a rejection so that I can put in another application.

Appreciate your help with this.

Good evening house, have been following this thread for some time now, and i can say this platform is the best. Thanks to all the gurus that has made this platform so educative.
My story is quite dicey but i need your help.
I would be applying for a canada visitor's visa by May this year. I plan on getting over there and continue my education from grade 11, so i can get used to their educational system and enroll in college later.
Please my questions are
1. As a 19 year old with family members in canada who are ready to sponsor my trip and shelter me in canada, what should my statement of account look like?.
2. Do i need to show ownership of properties etc?
3. And what are the chances of getting a travel visa if i step down my age to 17 years to facilitate my entry into high school over there.
Thanks

I was wondering did you submit your bank statement as well?

I plan on sponsoring my parents financially and adding just my bank statement + letter of support + job letter + pay slips and the other usual docs . They’ve already successfully gotten canadian tourist visa before only difference is now I want to leave their bank statements out of the application.
Do you think we are good to go?

Thanks

Good day All,

I would ask or plead if any one can refer or share their cover letter/statement of purpose sample with me.

I previously applied for a visiting Visa in 2016 but was denied. Now I intend to reapply and wish to attached a cover letter to it addressing the reasons that was given for the denial.

Thank you
