Just In: Boko Haram fighters currently burning down houses in Ajilari, at the outskirts of Maiduguri, not far from Gomari. Burning of houses or a whole community is a signature attack of Shekau’s faction. Important to note that Ajilari is in Maiduguri. 1 Like |

A mild drama ensued featuring a Nigerian cadet during a military training. The military student was very scared of jumping from a height during the training despite being aided with rope. In a trending video posted online, a superior can be heard telling him that nobody will push him and he must jump by himself because it's courage the military needs. The young man said he's courageous but his mind did not carry this particular jump. Despite all the advice, the cadet was still very afraid to jump. While the drama was happening, his colleagues and other military officers mocked him heavily at the training ground. Finally, after an order was given, the cadet was pushed by other soldiers. The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. General Yusuf Buratai, was at the battlefield to provide direction and boost the morale of fighting soldiers as the military launched a grand air and ground offensive against terrorists in Borno State Monday. The 120 Battalion of the newly formed Nigerian Army Special Forces Command neutralised 100 terrorists in different battlegrounds on day one of the offensive. The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is involved in waves of bombardments, destroying in the process several terrorist gun trucks and facilities. The battlegrounds are concentrated on Goniri, Yobe State, Damasak, Kross Kauwa and Monguno among other locations in Borno State. “The gallant troops have also been repelling attempted efforts by the terrorists to infiltrate their locations. “Buoyed by the Chief of Army Staff’s presence and motivation, the troops in the frontline are in renewed positive fighting spirit across the theatre to stop incursions and annihilate the terrorists. “The battle has now further shifted to the fringes of Lake Chad and other suspected Boko Haram terrorists enclave along the borders,” Army Spokesman, Brigadier-General Sani Usman, said. http://mcebiscoo.com/2019/01/08/buratai-battlefield-military-launches-offensive-iswap-boko-haram/ |

olapluto: Claiming he has courage, but can't jump ordinary 15 feets something we were jumping like monkeys when we were in secondary school, without the aid of ropes and belt. On a serious note, everyone loves the power and prestige that comes with being in the military, it would be a lie to state otherwise. But at least have the courage necessary for the job. |

I disagree with u... Pple may have joined in the past for such reasons, but with the present security challenges I highly doubt someone will risk his life for money... |

GeneralFarouq:If you have such phobia, then you have no business joining the military. Phobias don't just disappear after a couple of repetitive actions, they can only be suppressed, and in the heat of battle, that phobia will resurface, a second of hesitation that can get he and his entire team killed. 2 Likes |

EVarn:I disagree with you with a couple of jumps his fear for heights will drastically reduce if not eliminated, the fact that someone has acrophobia doesn't mean such a one is a coward or Lilly livered it's just a natural way the body adjust to circumstances it's not used to, same scenario is being experienced by cadet pilots on their first flight with there instructors, some even vomit heavily on Simulators without having a feel of the real thing but with time their body will adjust to it. Some of the bestbpilots in NAF today will relate with what I'm saying because they've experienced it. |
