If DangCem mistakenly reflect that N170 as closing price, we might be looking at below 29k today. Thank God that hasn't happened.

Report reaching me has that the board of directors of NEWREST ASL(airline services and logistics plc) has resolved for the payment of a cash consideration of N7.70 per share (“Additional Cash Consideration”) to every shareholder in exchange for their Newrest ASL Nigeria Plc shares.

The remaining foreign investors are bailing out, to stay by the side. They don't joke with their money, bonanza period is a period for brave heart ( the risk takers, it's mainly a good time to buy sound fundamental stocks)

Many people will be changing their handle in their computer gadgets keyboard, placing buy order and cancelling it again and again to shift goal post grin, and to enter more better one. Zenith was sighted at #20.10 today, GTB at #32, Access tested #5.30 yesterday, many more good opportunities to show face in the days ahead. Many will be confused on what to buy, because prices are coming down at platter of gold.

Smart money is also moving in to pick up the opportunities. From now to Feb 15.....Uncertainty will reign supreme but the big positions of tomorrow will be taken this period.

Sharp man !! wink cheesy grin

Permit me to add this 2 NUGGET to the mix:

"If ur answer to weather u've experienced more losses than wins in the stock market is YES.
Then FIND OUT if ur answer to weather u've grown with different INSIGHT at different STAGES of ur development is also a YES.
...but before then, ENSURE that that growth was BUILT on the REQUIRED FOUNDATION."
~Sinclair

"The stock market is like an unending race with plenty of obstacles and more 'virtual than real spectators' running with u.
...but along the way, it ALWAYS rewards those who 'can see through the other side of those obstacles' and run it WITHOUT tiring out."

AFTERNOON UPDATE - MARKET CLOSE OF 8 JANUARY 2019

The fact that the market closed on the negative is no news. However, the quality of the losers give course for concern.

We need to restrain ourselves from being too wise. Except you have deep pockets like the institutions, just stay on the sideline this week, the bears are on rampage!!! But let us remember that the stockbrokers still need business, you may think the losses are not that heavy on daily basis, but alas big loss day may show up any moment from now, let us tighten our seat belt for some turbulence landings.

I was reading a book, that the big money sometimes prevent the market from going down too rapidly, so that the dumb money or retail traders will not run away from the market It is like the rat that is eating your leg while your are sleeping and then blowing some breeze on you so that you don't feel the pain immediately. We should be getting wiser (did we see the trap for the general public called _ _ _ _ _ Fertilizer!!!, they want to Fertilize the loses for the poor public)

FMDQ website does not have info on daily volume of transactions. the weekly can only be erratically obtained from disparate news source (zedcrest bulletin / TRW blog). wld appr8 if u share platform u use in monitoring any periodic volume (daily/ weekly/ monthly)

Boss, no official platform per se (none that I know of but that doesn't mean that none exists). I rely on those occasional updates from CBN and unconfirmed sources.

CBN has the attitude of celebration once forex inflow starts increasing, hence they quickly announce once that happens.

The only official source as regards forex is our foreign reserve and that is available on CBN website.
