Guys, I have a question. I will be going to France for a 6 months study exchange programme. I was issued a long stay visa, was told it's equivalent to a residency permit once validated after 3 months by OFII. Can I apply for a visit to the UK from France? I can only visit Schengen countries with the Visa. Or I must apply from my country of residence? I currently reside permanently in SA. How best should I approach this? Thanks. |

Christycode: There is a new platform called parcoursup, it's specifically for undergraduate. All you have to do is inquire from your school if you need to apply for an admission through this platform or you can search for it on Google for more info. |

ogedozie: The Parcousup is the replacement of the old admission system called ' admision post-bac'. Its meant for prospective students who hold A French Nationality. Not for international mobilities. |

I started reading from page 50 and had learnt quite a few. My questions 1. Those that travel to France, and visit other countries too. When it is time to travel back, will you have to return to france to board a flight to Nigeria or what? 2. Which embassy is the best to apply for a visit/tourist visa as it relates to schengen visa. Thank you |

Will like to visit Paris for a 5 day vacation visit on the 16th of feb I currently have a UK valid visa which will expire by 30th of February what is my chance of getting a visa plus I have been to Dubai,SA and kenya Also can I go and submit my application now as I have already filled the online form but thinking it too early |
Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Cyberknight: 4:42am On Jan 14, 2019 |
hageebola101: It's not too early to apply for a visa - you can do that up to 90 days before your date of travel - it is actually almost getting quite late for you to do so, as there are about 20 working days between today and your planned travel date, so you'd better expedite the process. As for your chances, no-one can predict them as there are many factors involved in a visa grant and that's not within our purview. However, since you already have a UK visa, it is assumed you are familiar with the western countries' visa policies and requirements, so you should apply at least the same procedures and expertise you used in acquiring your UK visa to the French one. |

If you receive a Schengen visa from France, that means France must be your only or main destination on the itinerary you gave the embassy. You can enter the Schengen zone through any Schengen country, but you must have proof (booked tickets) of an onward trip to France if you enter through any country other than France. You also do not necessarily have to leave through France back home. In other words, you can for instance fly Lufthansa to Germany, enter the Schengen zone through Frankfurt, spend some days there and move on to France from there to carry out the main purpose of your trip, then visit any other countries you like within the terms of your visa, and leave again. Now here's the important part. You can do what is stated above. However, it works best if you don't give the immigration people reason to ask questions, especially if you are carrying our valueless Nigerian passport. The green passport is a red flag. a) If you are flying a European airline that transits through Europe (such as Lufthansa, KLM or Air France from Nigeria), then it's OK if you enter through Frankfurt or Amsterdam instead of Paris as long as your ticket indicates that France is your first destination. b) If you are not flying a European airline and are transiting through a non-Schengen country (e.g. taking Emirates and transiting through Dubai or transiting through Istanbul with Turkish Airlines) or are taking a direct flight to the Schengen area country, my advice to you would be to still enter the Schengen area through France, then move on to your other Schengen destination(s) from there, and exit the Schengen area again through France. And also obey the rules of the Schengen visa and ensure that France is indeed your main destination in case you come back seeking another Schengen visa next time. As for liberal embassies, I think you can try Spain, but as always, draw up a coherent itinerary. 2 Likes |
