Xiaomi Sinks Further After Losing Over $14 Billion by mikeycharles(m): 9:42am On Jan 12, 2019
Xiaomi is currently on a downwards spiral, CNN reported on the 7th August of 2018 that the smartphone company had a bad market debut in Hong Kong in which it sank as much as 5.9%, as of recent Bloomberg reported that it lost over $14 billion market value which is attributed to a lot of investors pulling out of the ailing company.
I think a time is coming which the brand will cease to exist with tough competitors like Huawei and One Plus which are giving Xiaomi a run for its money, it's safe to say Lei Jun should invest his money into the Millet and food industry and leave the Tech world for experts and professionals.
Ever since the company was launched in 2010, that's over eight years of existence it has striven to remain a counterfeit and a copy cat of the superior iPhone brand. They've managed to stay relevant due to their competitive pricing strategies, once that is taken out of the equation, they will definitely lose all market shares they hold dear.

I doubt that would happen anytime soon, Gionee declared bankruptcy when they incurred a whole lot of debts while in Xiaomi case; a few investors and shareholders decided to pull out. The point is, these shares can now be bought by new shareholders who want a stake in the company.

I know Nigerians are averse to reading long articles..
Here is an excerpt from the article:
QUOTE"

' To be sure, longer-term investors may want to hold on to Xiaomi’s shares rather than dump them at a loss. Analysts still predict Xiaomi will rebound to $16.72 on average within the next year. Hedge funds have been increasing their bearish bets, with almost 30 million shares sold short Tuesday, the most since August'.

When you are a Speculator only interested in making short term investments and gains, you run a risk of losing money on your stocks..
Xiaomi ain't going anywhere near bankruptcy very soon, the only people having an issue are those who are hoping to make a big hit in the short term.. . shocked

To those who could be bothered to read the article they will know they do not need to worry about Xiaomi disappearing like some other brands.

The loss is based on current global realities and not Xiaomi's performance in making or selling quality and affordable smartphones.

Just a good business read but nothing to interest or worry a techy.

While this is funny, it is also important to realize that Tecno is global brand. And yes, CNN and Bloomberg know what Tecno is.

This isn't about smartphone sales. This is totally different from what most of us here are thinking about. Beside smartphone sales generate less than 15% of Xiaomi revenue. 65 percent comes from the use of internet services from Xiaomi.

Why then did these share holders pull out? If all was well with the company, why didnt they leave their money there? well, Tecno may just buy them up.

That is how they rob users with crazy internet services. Phone wey dey chop data like where Nigeria ppolice dey chop bribe. Try using a Tecno smart phone and you will see how to minimize data usage.

You should know sarcasm when you see one. Bloomberg is only interested in the top dogs and not niche players.

If you want to promote your product well & good but using multiple accounts and trying to tarnish other competing brands won't do you any good.

You & your colleagues really need to go past this level, it's pathetic.

Tecno?, buy up Xiaomi from the Peanut they made from their Camon 11 sales? grin
Seems the continued increasing popularity of Xiaomi phones in Nigeria is giving Tecno serious Nightmares..they must be paying you guys for overtime with all the extra effort you have been putting in to tarnish the image of Xiaomi..
Imagine if Xiaomi took Nigeria serious and officially opens shop in Nigeria like they did in India,Tecno would have a heart attack.. shocked
Why don't you tell your employers to move away from their Mediatek P22 CRAPS,before trying to tangle with Xiaomi.. cool
