Am from the south west, I will be glad if my fellow brothers from the south west could forget about sentiment (all because proffessor yemi osinbanjo is been given a slavery job, as vice president and be going from door to door here in abuja, to be campaigning for an illiterate, who doesnt goes to school). This is the time to sit down and think. This peopple from NIGRR DELTA are human beings like us. They ve been highly marginalized by both the past amd present leader(president and head of states). Put your self in their shoes. I lived in portharcourt for 7 years. I saw the bad roads. Their water spilled with oil. No employment for their timid youths. (remember they produce 50percent of nigeria wealth.) also, ve been to bayelsa and other NIGERDELTA STATES too.lest i forget, during my 7 years i never have any problems with the people there rather they love yorubas than their ibos neighborhood. Above all, why will these so call government wake up on a Friday morning only to cook up funny stories against the only juicy post the NIGER DELTA has under this current government. I never said they shouldn't probe him if found wanting but it should be with the line of our constitution. The NJC should first investigate him b4 been transferred to the CCT. Furthermore, what really baffles me is this CJN was alleged to have fail to declare his asset in 2011, but he did declare it, in 2017.so,my question is why is this government bringing this issue again, since he has done the needful by declaring his assets in 2017.my second question why wait till 300 days before the election. My peopple, i suspect foul play. Maybe it could be apolitical. May GOD intervene in Nigeria politics and give us a GOD fearing leader,in Jesus name. Amen

That is for the Judge to decide, not you or i
Onnoghen will have his day in court

He may not honour the invitation.. Reason is that that substantive law will not give the tribunal the jurisdiction for his trial...you watch and see...the 157 SANS on the CJN's back may be the ones to appear there and am sure their argument will be centered on jurisdiction... Let's watch and see

Are you trying to say some people are above the law?

1. Oshiomhole has a pending corruption case in court
2. Akpabio has a pending criminal/corruption cases in court after several petitions against him
3. Fashola has issues to settle in the court over obvious inflation of government projects
4. Amaechi was indicted by a panel who have also dragged him to the court
5. Minister of Technology has certificate issues
6. Kemi Adeosun had certificate issues yet she was guarded to London and protected by this government

And the list is endless...

Why can't they first prosecute one of their own instead of chasing the wind?

The second name of Buhari supposed to be EVIL. An example of demon, is Buhari. What happened to Abacha during his time,is even not painful than the way Buhari will exit this world. APC is after rigging election at all cost.

Since Buhari said he is innocent of any crime and want to prosecute the CJN, what of his own son that bought a power bike worth over 50 MILLION NAIRA. Why can't the boy be prosecuted. How did he get the money and from who since he is not working.

Nobody is saying that the CJN is above the law,the position of Nigerians is that the constitution is very clear on the procedure of such trial and that that procedure has not been followed.

Hotfreezer:
The truth is that Wike has been bribing judges, no be today.

How do you guys think Wike got the judgment for removal of Ali Modu Sheriff? The judgment was illogical but this same Supreme Court under Onnoghen said it was in national interest.

Wike's contact in the SC is Mary Odili. That's the agent.

This is the same thing that Yar Adua did when he gave SC Justices 67M dollars through Justice Ogebe. In fact, Wikileaks carried it.

Now, that plan has been busted.

If you check the source of the funds in the account the CJN claimed he forgot to declare, you'll see that the CJN is under external influence.

Just the way Tinubu is influencing security posts in Lagos..

Just the way all security heads are from the North.. Ma brother, no body holy for naija.. So if u must fight, fight everyone. Don't go about protecting ur own people and expect others to keep quiet.. Buhari is dragging this country into chaos.. And sadly, na the ordinary masses that will pay for it..

If we are to go by what Femi Falana and Afe Babalola have said, that no external bodies can investigate a seating judge for any crime, then wherein lies the doctrine of Separation of Powers.
Even the Executive with its clearly spelt out immunity cannot investigate itself.
Does the NJC have any agency that can conduct a detailed investigation on a criminal case?
Obviously, we have a lacuna here and the Judiciary is exploiting that ambiguity.
But the obvious is inevitable because either way, the chicken will come home to roast.

If the CJN can only be investigated by the NJC then he has a moral burden to step aside for a proper investigation.

The Executive can and does investigate itself; that is why Babachir Lawal was investigated by a committee set up by the same Executive and he was removed yet the Executive refused to bring him before the judiciary for trial and judgment. It is also why when a police officer commits an offence, an orderly room trial is first set up for such an officer by the same police authorities before he is subjected to the judiciary/courts. It is also why the action against the former DG, DSS was handled within the Presidency and he was eased out of office yet no trial for the numerous charges against him. In fact, it the self-regulatory powers of the three arms of government that ensure the principle of separation of powers. The Executive should not be seen to attempt to over-reach itself for any reason!

Do not be ignorant please.

You started a good post, but missed it at some point. I am from the Niger Delta, I can categorically tell you that the bad roads in Portharcourt is as a result of corruption, Odili did nothing for the state, Amechi came to the rescue and did excellent road network which are still there today but his second term efforts was thwarted by Goodluck Jonathan a Niger Delta and Wike now came to complete some of the projects that Amechi started and doing some new projects,. In conclusion NDDC and corruption is the reason for bad roads in Portharcourt all the projects done by NDDC are substandard and some are so bad that Governor Wike has to execute this project again.

When Buhari was accusing Jonathan of attacking the north simply because he was dealing with Boko Haram what was he playing, National Card?

As fasola and Osibanjo are telling the SW to vote for Buhari so that power will return to SW what type of card is that, International Card?

Nigeria is a gathering of tribes that can never form a nation. The tribes that refuse to play the tribal card are mumus and the suffer the most politically.

You said it the best.
It has always beaten my thinking how much this government's supporters are being paid to make them take stand against glaring facts and truth . Yet some folks stay alive just to support it. It is belly-turning. I still recall how much I anticipated PMB to become the President...but today, everyone with healthy and unbiased minds has seen it all. Traveling this path for another 4 years will perfect doom for Nigeria.
I ain't for APC nor PDP and also much more bad misrepresentation in the place of power.
Nigeria has never had it this bad.

Seriously it baffles me when PDP say that APC will rig the election and thats why they want to intimidate the judiciary. Or is it their past that is haunting them becos they are masters in rigging election. I dont know why they are so confident that they will win election after presenting a fugitive as their candidate . If the election is held ten times , Atiku is not a match for PMB. U can take it to the bank honestly. Most PDP members including Atiku know that PDP will not win the election, they are just trying to show that they are not afraid of election. Deep inside Atiku, he knows that he is on a wild goose chase. He planned importing all the hard currencies that he stached abroad but EFCC's eye is on him and he knows that . Thats why he does not have any money for campaign. He couldnt even give Kwankwaso the N1 billion that he requested for so as to enable him campaign in Kano. This is the first time in NIgerias history that money are not flying around a month to election. The thing amazes me becos during PDP time, money have started flying around at least two months to the election. I must say thumbs up for PMB for this feat. Nigerians do have hope that polticians will release money during election, at least they can grab the ones they can grab but that is not so now. Every politician including State governors are on EFCC's watch list. Pmb really tried I must say and the pain of not being able to bring out money for election is really frustrating PDP becos thay are not used to that. Thats why they wail at every thing PMB does. Na wa ooooh!

Nigeria has gradually become a totalitarian state under this government. But history shows us it always ends in tears for them.Someone mentioned Gbagbo.
I could, with vivid immediacy, recall the day he was deposed by the rebels, very much aided by the French troops. He was hustled out of office, spotting a beach shirt. Why do tyrants fail to learn from history?
From Julius Ceaser to Jacob Zuma, dictators ropes snap even when they cling very tightly to power.Buhari will suffer the same fate.
