Seems u stock in ancient style of football. This age of soccer, wingers are played opposite their preferred foot unless u have a Drogba who feeds on crosses. Kalu wouldn't have scored those curlers with his left foot if he was played on the right hand side. Salah, Ronaldo, Chukwueze, Ojo, Balde etc wouldnt give u 100 percent playing on the wings that literarily corresponds with their preffered foot. Modern wingers, otherwise known as inverted wingers are required to cut in most of the time to score, lift the ball for the strikers or give defense splitting passes. Whipping in crosses ala the eras of Finidi aint really no sine-qua-nons of a good winger(s) today.

About Osimhen, plz eschew my posts whenever u wanna quote for quoting sake bkus I love quotes when u really have something to say. I wrote "prospect" and u drawing comparisons. Was that word and in the context it was used, really that hard to fathom?

Modified; the post already have them as u suggested abi u no notice?

Kalu...........Osimhen.......... Chukwueze

..................Iwobi....................

..........Mikel........ Ndidi

Am not hyping Ambrose and I am not saying he should be invited because his time has pass,it's hard for you guys to take the truth that's one problem on this thread ,you have no defender than can cross the ball ,you have no defender that can score from set piece yet you are saying am hyping a player ,Ambrose is 30 already and we should know his real age should be close to 40.

Ozil is world class ,he only started being inconsistent recently so don't act as if he has been inconstitent all his career .

An inconstitent player will not play more than 100 games for Madrid ,they refuse to sell him to Arsenal that shows how good he is ,an inconstitent player will not win more than 90 caps for the German national team and have been regular there for the past 9 years till he retired

Stop being sentimental making it look as if Ozil have been inconstitent all his career ,so because a player has been inconstitent for the past 2 season means he has been so all his career ? Bro please try and be truthful, you will say am an Arsenal fan for that but you all l know am a Barca fan

You are not making sense at all concerning echiejile ,who will compare echiejile to Carlos ? What are you even saying self ? Maybe it's people like you that will compare omeruo to better defenders,it's even a crime to compare echiejile to Taiwo .

Abeg if na play stop am oooo

You started going like this-----

Ajayi and Omeruo are better than Efe Ambrose

He has not played for the SE for sometime because he's not up to par, when last did we mention him in this thread

He's linked with a 'supposed' move for the premier league suddenly he becomes Sergio Ramos

I have been talking about Efe for over a year he was bound for the championship but couldn't get past the work permit rules. I also know that Brighton were interested in him at that point.

Why after been frozen out by Brendan at Celtic he went Hibernian and became the outstanding CB in the Scottish premier league.

I usually say, l rather have a Lion in a lower league and cup than an anonymous mouse in a top league and club.

Efe Ambrose has been one or the most consistent defenders that Nigeria has over the past decade.

Ajayi is at best a league one player who has been largely anonymous everywhere he played. Omeruo was anonymous in the Championship and in Holland and then became let's say proficient in Turkey.

I will not rate Omeruo comprehensively better than Efe.

People have brought up the football age issue. This is the hypocrisy we have here we choose when to bring it in.

Efe is probably older than 30 IMO, but then how old is Omeruo too.

There has been a recent trend of looking at 10 years past. Compare the pictures of Omeruo who was 15 in 2009 and he has not changed much. Have you ever seen a 15 year old remain largely the same for 10 years. Don't need to day more.

So forget the age thing and look at continous, current, consistent top performances.

With the afcon drawing closer, in the issue of our defence I'll rather play our RWB as Ebuehi then LWB as ola aina. What are your thoughts on this considering the fact we have a natural LWB Jamilu Collins?

I'm saying because Efe has left the scene for sometime people now remember him fondly not minding his averageness

Maybe Echiejile will leave for sometime, when he comes back people will compare him to Roberto Carlos

I think Jamilu Collins is still our best LB

Because he was average against South Africa playing LWB(an unnatural position for him) people have already relegated him to the background

Sometimes, I still feel Brian Idowu has been judged unjustly. Which attack has Jamilu faced? Compared to Idowu that faced some of the best attacks in the World.

I still dey look Jamilu. Let him go to the AFCON first.

A left back is a left defender, he basically stays in the back four of defence

A left wing-back is more complex, when the team is defending he is a left back, when the ball is in the midfield he is a left midfielder when the ball is in attack he is a winger

He basically moves up and down depending on the position of the ball

A left Back is a Full Back that plays at the Left Position of the defense. He is typically deployed in a Back 4 formation. He only occasionally joins in the attack from the Left wing.

A Left Wing Back is either a Left playing defender or a Left Winger deployed in the Left part of a midfield and is free to join in the left side of the defense and also join in the left side of the attack. This is typically deployed in a back 3 formation. "Wing Back" as the name applies is a Winger that joins the backline or a Backliner that joins in Wing play. smiley

51 caps no b joke and e never play for naija for almost 4 years

Efe Ambrose is already 30/31 ,during his younger days he has played top flight football more than our current player ,played in the champions league constitently

Ambrose is one of our best scoring defender after Joseph yobo

Yes his time is past ,but sorry if e get an Epl move his time is back

Our defenders that cannot even score any goal from set piece ,all out corner kick na waste

He makes mistake in Celtic doesn't means he makes mistake in the eagles so no carry him club blunder come eagles abeg

Which better full back we get apart from ebuehi?

Also Ola aina because he has been doing well at torino and has improve a lot

So you think jamilu Collins is better than Ambrose ? Or shehu abdulahi then you must be joking

Ebuehi and aina are the only full back better than Ambrose ,take it or leave it
Shehu is better than both Efe and Aina defensively.

Idowu is also good going forward. In fact his major weakness is defending/positioning in the defensive position.

Besides, henn.. Jamilu has not really come under heavy attacks for you to fully assess his defensive capabilities.

@Andrew444 about Ozil you want me to say he's not an inconsistent player because he's only been inconsistent four the past 2 seasons ?

You forget that people are judged only on one match, Salah has been adjuged world class but he has not even been on fire for 2 seasons

A player who has been inconsistent for the past 2 seasons is an inconsistent player

Salah has not been on fire for 2 seasons ,now it clearly shows that you are watching back of tv

22 Epl games so far and 14 goals and that's not enough for you ?

Andrew has clarified it.Ambrose of 2012-2014 better than present Shehu.I’m one of Shehu’s fans but pre WC and WC exposed Shehu.

Shehu had a MOTM performance and an assist against Zambia that qualified us for WC.

Aina is good when attacking but average when it comes to defending.I recall his error against Argentina where he was too attack minded exposing Balogun for one of Arg goal
and in another friendly where his tackle resulted in a PK against us.

Shehu is better defending which stops the team from conceding through the right.

For me Omeruo has been at best average never been outstanding at anything. How he still remains in the SE is beyond me. Or is it a reflection of no competition or scarcity of quality within our available CB 's
