Great2017: You missed the part where he openly admitted that he forgot to declare his assets as demanded by the same Nigerian constitution he swore to defend and uphold. That was an admission of guilt because he did not deny the charges and he in fact accepted the charges, but blamed his transgressions on innocent, but ignorance of the law excuses no one. He confessed already so get off that ignorant show me this and that. 1 Like |

WHERE is the corruption allegation that he enriched himself with those accounts or that he failed to delare them as part of his asset declaration i think we should all be careful of what we do to ourselves in the name of serving our pay masters. we must be caution as to what we do in the interest of international community. posterity will judge us all if what we do today is right or wrong. i rest my case. 1 Like |

“Judicial corruption enthrones corrupt politicians in political offices. It robs hardworking, honest and credible politicians of well-deserved victory at the polls. Judicial corruption is the deadliest enemy of democracy. It debilitates the rule of law, renders equal rights unattainable and puts asunder any dream of an egalitarian society. Judiciary is the last hope of the common man and a corrupt judge dashes the hope of the ordinary citizen. Well stated. The judiciary is our last stand and defense against corruption and general lawlessness, but with corrupt judges and compromised judiciary, we are not going anywhere. 2 Likes |

bedspread: This is weird in a sense, so if the judge shoots someone he can’t be arrested until the NJC says so. Since he is the chairman of the NJC how can that body be trusted. I really expect a judge of his caliber to do the right thing and resign. |

Felixv: Sadly, they don't resign in Nigeria because crooks have factored into our laws and constitution immunity and get out of jail cards. In America where we borrowed democracy from, there's nothing like the rubbish judicial council and the FBI won't hesitate to arrest and prosecute the chief justice for any law breaking transgression. Nigeria is just too lawless and corrupt. |

deomelo: How can a common Nigerian expect to be treated with decency when traveling out of the country if our chief judge is untrustworthy— and yet many fools are defending him. It seems we have accepted corruption and abuse of office as a way of life. 2 Likes |

Only a sick society will condone a judge like this man whose robe is soiled with corruption. continue y,all that supports him it is your children's generation that will judge you. He should resign if there is any decency left in him, what is he going to judge? Bet some bold and daring one standing in his court will tell him he is not fit to judge him. please let him go home and not listen to the sick one urging him to stay. Nigerians are something else! 1 Like |

Stalwert: In 2015, M. Buhari filled his form CF001 and submitted to INEC, it was expected that he should attach his particluars and he attested to a declaration that his secondary school original certificates were with the military. The military denied the having custody of his certificates and in fact, recently stated that M.Buhari never submitted his certificate to the military. The process that brought Buhari into the military ab initio was flawed but given that he came in as a recruit and there must have been massive drive for military manpower in those days, they must have waived it. However, he had the audacity to attest, invariably swear on oat, that his original credentials were with the military in 2014/2015 despite the military repeatedly denying it. M.Buhari again relied on such attestation yet again on his filings with INEC; re-emphasising a lie, tantamount to fraud, corruption and crime. Having seen that the lie may no longer hold given that the public yet again put the military on the spot to deny or endorse and reveal it, they arranged for WAEC to issue M.Buhari another certificate even when WAEC has no record of the previous one. That was a false declaration in 2014/15 and yet again in 2018. The false declaration is also a crime which could be prosecuted but they choose not to prosecute him. What moral obligation or right does PMB have to prosecute the CJN who actually filled two asset declaration forms which indicated the disparity in the number of accounts held by him. Why not make the asset declaration form of every public officer accessible to the public and let us see how many, if any, of them are correct. If you advocate the trial of CJN, which of course must start with the petition sent to NJC and follow through the law, you must also request Buhari to step down as president so we can try him in court for false particulars for declaration. What is your opinion? 2 Likes 1 Share |

11doubledee:It's unfortunate that things have degeneratd to this level in this country. How can any sane person be equating the politicians with the most senior judge in the land. A whole chief justice of the land claiming he "forgot" to declare such humongous amount of money as mandated by law! We are not even talking about how he came by the money yet. May the Almighty save this country from wicked people - politicians, judges and all others. 1 Like |

bedspread: Under which law Kindly quote the aspect of law that says an ordinary council can determine a criminal case. A council he himself is a member if not the chairperson. When did the NJC become a court of law having jurisdiction of criminal matters. NJC is for professional misconduct and not criminal offenses. |

jomoh: Under the case law - judicial precedence. Can't you read and research the law anyway, remember that google is your friend. Kindly refer to the judicial precedent as encapsulated in a recent Appeal Court decision in Nganjiwa vs Federal Republic of Nigeria (2017) LPELR-43391(CA), to the effect that any misconduct attached to the office and functions of a judicial officer, must first be reported to and handled by the NJC, pursuant to the provisions of the laws. Mind you, NJC is not an ordinary council. 2 Likes |

Purenaija:We cannot call a spade a spade. Selective justice is no justice. Until we acknowledge that we are all corrupt including you we have no moral right to even attempt to point to others and call them corrupt. Are you free from corruption? We should stop this appalling hypocrisy of tagging others corrupt and quick to talk and pass judgment when it concerns others. Stand before the court of your own soul and ask yourself: am I corrupt or not? |
