Are you moving within the same town? If yes, search for 'man and van' on gumtree and call them to make enquiries. They are usually self-employed guys looking to make extra cash with their vans. Try look for ones that have had their gumtree profile for a while, so you don't fall for scammers. This is what I did when I moved last year. I spoke to 5 guys I saw on gumtree and eventually settled for one that was available on the day I wanted. It cost me £60 (£30/hr, might be different for your area sha). I had already packed my things and I wasn't moving far away so it only took two hours. He also helped with loading into the van and unloading at my new place. fatima04: 5 Likes 3 Shares |

fatima04: a- Man with a van is your cheapest option, moving is stressful enough you don't really want to be driving the van on that day and most time you will get physical help from the van owner. Check on your local neighbourhood forum or gumtree. b- Moving home does not affect your credit rating, just make sure you register ASAP on the electoral register and redirect your post. c- It takes roughly about 10 days maximum as long as there are no problems. just apply on line and as long as there is no contest from the agent . The money will be paid directly into your account. Good luck with your move. When is the house warming? 2 Likes 2 Shares |

a. Try anyvan.com. You will put details of what you eant to move and then man and van will start bidding for the job. You will be able to see reviews of all the man and van that are bidding. You don't have to go with any of yhem if ypu are not happy with rhe quotes. I have used them thrice and the sercice was fantastic. b. It can affect your credit rating slightly cos lenders like stability. As othershave said, make sure you register on electoral immediately. c. Once you move out, initiate the recovery of ypur deposot on the deposit scheme website. If the landlord does not have any issues, you will get your money quickly. fatima04: 3 Likes 3 Shares |

fatima04: Very very very very important question My eyes couldnt miss the bolded. How you take get one year visa? Always assummed the dependents visa has to have the same end date with the main applicant. Is it that you applied to join your partner when his Tier 2 visa had one year remaining? Or did you apply for just 1 year instead of the 3/5 years that your partners Tier 2 visa has, and now you are renewing? I'm about applying for my wife and kid to join me, my Tier visa expires 2021, Please tell me I can apply for a 1 year Tier 2 dependent visa for them and renew later, meaning I have to pay only 1 year visa and IHS for now till I renew. Please tell me this is possible. 1 Like 1 Share |

Hi house, Please can I get advise on this? Am on spouse visa issued sept 2016 and expires June 2019 was checking the govt website on renewal process and I also saw an information about indefinate leave to remain process. My question is am i qualified to apply for indefinite leave to remain or I need to do the other 2.5 years extension first on my spouse visa. But the leave to remain has 5 years route , 2 years route and 10years route and I was asking my spouse what if mine is the 2 years route spouse visa and can apply for indefinite leave to remain. He said go and ask the guru's in niaraland they will know exactly what you sld do. So please help and how early can I apply for renewal? 6 months to or 3 months to?

The knife crime is getting too much. London is not safe anymore. I don't trek at night anymore for fear of unknown. Lost one of our church youth to knife crime last year November. It's no more gang stuff, innocent bystanders are being stabbed. It's well. Please be safe and alert if you stay in London 2 Likes |

sutelk: Lol, in my own case, husband signed a 1 year contract so visa was given for the exact duration of the contract, unlike this renewal that they gave us 2 weeks extra. In your own case, I doubt if you can apply for a lesser duration for your dependant as they are tied to yours, so they can't get lesser or more than that. |

Helloooo my people, I have got an issue here that i need you guys to vet before i respond, below is my short story: My family and I got a flat at the topmost floor of a 2 Storey Building 6 months ago. We have a toddler who wants to express himself by jumping up and down the whole place, we try to caution him but then again, a baby is a baby no matter what. About 2 months ago, we got a call from our agent that the neighbor right below us lodged a complaint of disturbance but the Property Manager clearly told us that it is not a crime and there is nothing they can do about it, it was just for our information. Meanwhile they knew we had a child when we filled out forms, so they have got it in their records. The flooring of the lounge is wooden so noise is inevitable. We went a step further to buy a massive centre rug to cushion the effect of the noise but i guess it did't do much. Now i got an email from a different Property Manager (I'm guessing she is now the new Manager in charge of our property) on another complaint, see below the mail: Good afternoon, I do hope that this email finds you well. We have had another noise complaint regarding this property. Please ensure that you keep the excessive noise such as banging down to a minimum. If we receive another complaint we will have to take this further. I have got a lot of things against her but then again, i need to add more points to ground her, hence my coming here and also to share. The said tenancy agreement was for 6 months and expires next month, we have indicated our interest in renewing to avoid the stress of moving house, and she even went ahead to send us a new contract the same time she sent this mail. I will reply her as soon as i get enough points and will ensure i copy their general office email and see what comes out of it. |

Yinkzy03: You are very lucky your contract is about to expire...... Unfortunately it's time to move to avoid such nasty emails and confrontation from your neighbours...... When hunting for a new property, if you prefer flats, get ground floor.... 2 Likes |

Yinkzy03: You have got to be careful, I’ve seen many cases like this and noise is noise no matter who is making it. Your neighbour is entitled to enjoy the comfort of their home without noise from the neighbours etc. Worse case senario your lease will be terminated if you are renting and you may have to find somewhere else to live. You might also end up with a large legal bill since you are the offending party. Secondly, even if you own the property your neighbour and management company may issue you with a section 126 notice. This is a notice to repair and it forces you to make adjustments to your whole floor area. You will be required to install padding in the floor up to a certain (stated in your lease) standard before installing floor boards or tiling. In some cases, if the lease forbids floor boards on top floors you may have to rip out the floor fittings and install carpets, also to the standard stated in your lease. For those of you who have very young kids and you are buying a property e.g.flat depending on the area. Please read your lease very well, especially in the noise and flooring part. These days people tend be very selfish and are less tolerant of kids. Looking at the other side of the coin when you work very hard and come home to relax any kind of noise is frustrating. 3 Likes 1 Share |
