Hello Everyone! For those who find it difficult to study on their own or need intensive ielts coaching, contact 0907 198 9790. Comes at a cost but it’s worth it. WES done. Ielts passed after various attempts because of writing. Finally moving to the next stage. Thank God.

Good morning all,

My ECA is currently in progress via WES. I'm evaluating my Bachelor & Masters and I know I'm supposed to evaluate only my highest qualification (Masters).

Please will there be any effect (negative) with evaluating both during this whole process?

Good morning Everyone, please am planning to get a work reference letter titled to whom it may concern to avoid some issues. Will that be accepted by cic or it must be in cic format? Thanks for your response

Hi guys...

I just thought to ask how the waiting experience has been for you.

How has the patience virtue been building up....

Do you care to share your thoughts??

Today, I'll be very much available to assist as many people in this journey... but I'll still reiterate... before you ask, ensure you have read page 1 first. That is the only passport you need to get a response from anyone here.

Cheers and have a blissful day!!!

Love you all my fellow Canadians!!

There wont be any negative impact. Even though evaluating Bachelors was not necessary. You're good.

Not necessarily.

You can still have it post ITA. Just have it before you submit the PR application.

Ours was post ita as well. I saw links on page one of landed seniors who did post ita as well and got their PPR without ADR.

Thank you for your kind offer to help. I recently decided to embark on this express entry journey. Its like a light switch came on in my head and I'm wondering why I did not try this since about 2 years ago. So I have been reading and scouring the internet on the steps and procedures. I now sleep on this thread cheesy It's the only reason Nairaland is still meaningful to me.

My strategy is to apply for my ECA latest by end of January via IQAS (I am a lawyer) my intendedspouse will also evaluate via IQAS (she's a lawyer too). We hope to get married in May (which I hope will coincide with the outcome of our assessment) after which we will decide whether one or both of us will write IELTS and we hope that every other thing will move from there.

Query: Is there anything you would want us to consider at this time?
I understand that my IQAS reference number has to be on my transcript, I am a bit worried about how to ensure that, seeing that I am not in charge on the process. Should I include it as part of IQAS' address when providing my school with the address to which the transcript would be dispatched? What would you advise?

Thanks.

TESTIMONY TIME

I sat for my first IELTS with BC on the 18th of August, 2018 and had L8, R7.5, S 7.5 and W6. Applied for remark on the 4th of September and lost interest in checking/picking up the EOR.

Went to Ikoyi today and decided to branch their office. Lo and behold, it changed to L8, R8, S8 and W6.5 grin grin

15k extra to my account even though I didn't get minimum of 7 in writing. I thought it was widely believed Reading doesn't change but mine did.

BTW, I wrote the 3rd last Saturday with MOD and waiting for the result.

Thank you

Hallelujah to my God who has made me scaled IELTS' hurdle.

My 3rd result is out.

MOD IDP - L8.5, R7, W7 and S8. I am so relieved and happy, thank you Jesus.

In another news, please who has a reliable contact for transcript in Delta State University. Thank you in advance

Guys please, I have been running a business concurrently with my job for the last 3 years which would form the bulk of the income for my POF aside my salary. Is it relevant I disclose the biz in my personal details in my EE profile?

Also I didn't incluse my current job in my profile which i had just resumed in october. this is because i already have the required work experience i need plus the job role are not very similar. Is there a need to include my current job?

I look forward to your responses
You MUST declare everything including the side business. Hiding it can cause a ban for misrepresentation.
It can be captured in personal history (this includes the new job)

If you know you're sitting for IELTS this Saturday, oya gather round.

I'm hosting a night of intense prayer and prophetic declarations tagged:

THE LAST SATURDAY: this nonsense must stop !!!

aaah!...na wetin??

Okay, 1st attempt maybe we didn't practise well. 2nd attempt could be coincidence, but 3rd attempt?... 4th, 5th attemots??....
naaaaaaahhhh enough is enough.

Join me tonight, lets present our case before the ALMIGHTY.

At the stroke of 12 this night, WHEREEVER you are, we'll connect in the realm of the spirit all over the country to raise a mighty cry to the throne of Mercy in one accord.

All the tears from past failure(s), all the frustrations, all the depression, all the anger....come pour it on the altar of Mercy this night.

We have been practising since the result of the last attempt came out. Enough of the practising...now is the time for prayers. Let's cry out for Mercy.
Let's say "Father, for MERCY's sake....only for MERCY's sake, let this be the LAST SATURDAY".

Join me tonight for atleast 30mins...

We have been reading, we have been practising...now is the time to seek God.

Tonight, at 12 midnight!
This affliction must not rise again!

Exercise in futility. You dont need supernatural power to pass an exam. Pagans have passed IELTS. Africans and God ish. A white man will look for a practical approach to a solution. We Africans will look for the God approach.

One last thing, people don't do all-night prayers and night vigils in Canada. If they solved all their problems with prayers in Canada, I don't think we would all be aspiring to go there.

Pls can u send the material to me..@ taflino@gmail.com.Thanks alot.

1. Stick to a FEW practice materials! The number of materials for IELTS that we see on a daily on this thread can be overwhelming. Try out only a few and stick to the one that resonates with you. Don't use ieltsliz, Jay, Cambridge, ieltsadvantage, road2ielts etc at the same time (some of these peope don't agree on the same approach and reading all can get really confusing). If you try one and it sits well with you, ditch others. Focus on that one and be a master of it. I almost got overwhelmed at some point, because l wanted to open every link or try every material l saw here. But l had to give myself brain oh.

2. Practise everyday. No excuses. Create the time. Even at work, you can use your lunch break to practise. Instead of listening to music or radio on your way to work, listen to your downloaded tips on writing, speaking, reading, listening. When walking down the streets, have an earpiece on (l hate this, but we can make sacrifices for one month abi?) and keep LISTENING. At weekends, practice speaking with your wife/husband, friend, son/daughter etc. Write out questions and tell them to ask you (under exam conditions). I finished a WHOLE 30 leaves notebook for listening practice (yeah l work an 8 to 5 and live on the mainland with my office on the island -remember, no excuses!). Always check your wrong answers and replay those portions and find out what you didn't hear properly. I used youtube for listening/speaking/reading.

3. There's this ielts expert too, one Ryan (cannot remember his surname) that l think is underrated. I used his tips for writing. He talks about 15 sentences max for writing. 3 paragraphs with 4 sentences and the closing paragraph should have 3 sentences. This keeps you in check and you already know what to write before the exam, all you will be waiting for on the ielts day is the topic given! I can share his materials if you drop your email address.
For writing, write letter and essays! Don't read what someone else wrote. Write yours too. Some people practise writing by reading another's work -WRONG! write yours too and compare. Minimum letters to write on different topics - 10. Minimum essays - 20. Revise your work and look for better ways to reconstruct your sentences. I suggest you write with pencil on your exam day so you can erase if need be.

4. For reading - use youtube. It also has a timer, so practice using the time and don't stop the timer or pause the video. The easiest comprehension in reading are the first two. Spend less time there. Say 5 mins tops for each. You do not need to UNDERSTAND nada. Just look at the instructions (very important), then the questions, then scroll through the passages for the answers. You need all your time for the last two passages. They are more technical.

5. For speaking - Be confident, relaxed and know your basic english and introduction (see ieltsliz). See this as an interview. We all attend interviews don't we? I got a list of 42 likely cue cards from ieltsliz blog (l think she said they change it every 3 months but she always update the cue card questions) and l practiced the 42 different topics and l always set my two minutes timer with my phone. You can be in the BRT or your car and practice this one, or when walking down the street or whilst doing chores at home, or lying down in your bed doing nothing (l did this. Some days, people will think you are going crazy because you are talking to yourself, but...who no go no know). One of the 42 questions l practiced was my cue card during my speaking test -something on my pet animal (l was wondering "madam why me? Animal kwa?" but because l had practised earlier, the examiner had to cut me off when it was two minutes. I just went on and on.

4. Lastly and certainly not the least...the place of PRAYER. I'm catholic, so when l saw the prayer to St. Joseph of Cupertino here, l made a mental note to say it. I started saying it every day from September till i wrote my exam on the 1st of November. I even added a 9 days St. Joseph of Cupertino novena with prayer and fasting which ended on the 31st of October (l'm that extra oh. I left no chances). I asked my family to add me in their prayers too. So, pray, pray and pray. Whatever works for you. Someone dropped one St. prayer here on financial assistance for POF, best believe l'll look for that prayer and do it too!

5. People have done it, you too can. Don't be discouraged if you have tried more than once. We don't give up on this thread oh. Being here has taught me a different level of selflessness and never say never spirit. People you don't even know are quick to help and empathise and l am still in awe of you guys.

6. Please drop your email address so l can send the Ryan materials to you.

This too shall pass!

All the best everyone and my apologies for the long post.

Pls email me the materials jor advocatetruth@yahoo.com

Relax bro!!

U have been quite antagonistic on the thread.

The fact that you dont approve a person's approach to achieving objectives does not give u the right to condemn it entirely.

I believe people should do what works for them generally.

Take a chill pill bro.

God bless.
