Re: 500,000 Naira From One Plot Of Land In 90 Days. by okoroemeka(m): 8:37am On Jan 11, 2019 |
Idemujoseph:agriculture is one of the riskiest venture, you are fighting a battle on multiple fronts and most of the times its issues you cannot control like weather and others like disease, pests, soil type, variety, human error, even most insects are bioengineered to destroy farmland not grasses and weeds, with a venture that can produce such ROi you have to expect the unknown. 4 Likes |

maiunguwar: Waoh, u remember Jasper. He was the brain behind my first investment in cucumber. Remember an advice he gave me then, when I went to Owerri for a bank job, told me to free the bank job and go fully into agriculture. He is a mentor, but I don't think Okoroemeka is Jasper though. our main mega project this year will be 1 acre of green garden egg,we did a test run last year with 700 stands on 1 and half plots the yield was good and the production ran from June to October total 4-5 months,we have transplanted into single grow bags and managing it carefully ,the target is to start harvesting during Easter peak period,a BUA sugar bag of garden egg is selling for #14,000k now,by Easter it will be hovering at #12,000k,it will be interesting if we can replicate the results from the test run then we will see yields of 15-20 bags every 4 days. 2 Likes

Mr Emeka, thanks for all the insights availed on this platform, may the Good Lord enrich you with so much more. I have a farm land to the tune of an acre and half and it's very close to the river in ogun-state . We planted plantain (in July) and added chilli pepper (mid -October ), but flood came toward mid-November and swept away some of the pepper, but for the Lord's mercy we were able to retain 3 plots of the chilli pepper with no plan of replanting due to the harsh weather condition (the land is very dry but water from the river would suffice till February when it rain) . Please I'd like to have a private conversation with you concerning the pepper (some of them are flowering already). 2 Likes

okoroemeka: I was going through nairaland agric section when I saw your question to the guy that claimed to be able to produce 1000cucumbers from a 12ft by 6 space. Really funny, if you ask me. From my little experience, I wonder how he is gonna achieve it, or how he even brought up the idea in the first place. Lol |

Update on our new 2500 do or die cucumber season 2 project,we are forced to do nursery on Saturday because the land is not ready yet and we must plant on Saturday,so the drama continues, the nursery is 4 days old today and tomorrow we will transplant to field,it is a race between us and 2500 cucumbers on one plot of land, who will win, can we get 100 bags, hmmm!this time its no retreat, no surrender!

okoroemeka: Wait a minute! Do you transplant CUCUMBERS? Is it a normal practice? |
Re: 500,000 Naira From One Plot Of Land In 90 Days. by okoroemeka(m): 1:10pm On Jan 17, 2019 |
bimbax:my brother it is not normal, but the land we want to use has abnormal rats with sensors to detect freshly sown seed,if u don't do a nursery that u can cover in the night the rats will come and eat the whole seed at night, you will end up irrigating and waiting for the seed to germinate, and the rats will be somewhere picking their teeth and laughing at u. 13 Likes |

Re: 500,000 Naira From One Plot Of Land In 90 Days. by okoroemeka(m): 10:01pm On Jan 18, 2019 |
bimbohush:we water the nursery well before lifting in the evening and water again early morning and again at high noon, and pray the sun may be merciful, anyone That survives the next day is okay, its not the best way of planting cucumbers but what can we do,we have tried every means to chase rats out of the vicinity from rodenticide, covering planted area with paper/nylon,traps,wiring light bulbs, bringing generator play loud music, lighting bonfires, cats didn't work rats comes at night,my staff even brought camping bed to sleep in the bush and chase rats, nothing worked.it's dry season they are everywhere, small tiny rats.transplanting for now is the only solution.God I hate rats. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

okoroemeka:pls Sir who is "phostrogen fertilizer". thanks |
Re: 500,000 Naira From One Plot Of Land In 90 Days. by okoroemeka(m): 12:37am On Jan 19, 2019 |
Juliana7:phostrogen is a liquid fertilizer or plant food made by Bayer,it has NPK(14-10-27)we discovered that using Haifa bonus NPK(20-20-20) from 28 days up causes excessive foliage instead of flowers and fruit because of its high N content,so we switch over to phostrogen with lower N and higher K for more fruits from 28 days. 3 Likes 3 Shares |

Re: 500,000 Naira From One Plot Of Land In 90 Days. by okoroemeka(m): 7:17pm On Jan 20, 2019 |
SLOVFO:the ngwa people are famous farmers with super fertile land,I will be surprised if there is no cucumber farmer in ngwaland, they even have a variety of local cucumber named after then NGWALARGE.so look closely around you u will find a cucumber farm. |
Re: 500,000 Naira From One Plot Of Land In 90 Days. by SLOVFO(m): 11:42am On Jan 21, 2019 |
okoroemeka: Invariably there should be cucumber farms in and around Aba. But most cucumber farms I have come across are not something I would like to emulate. Other farmers may be in the hinterlands of Ngwa land. I don't have access to those areas. Moreover, nothing like learning from an upto date farmer who is constantly improving. I also believe that you have an outfit that sells hybrid seeds? |
Re: 500,000 Naira From One Plot Of Land In 90 Days. by okoroemeka(m): 8:16pm On Jan 21, 2019 |
SLOVFO:yes, we supplied seeds to rivers and osun States last week, anytime u are ready to learn I will get u attached to eagle foods ltd,if u stay 1 week with them u will know everything, they operate the biggest cucumber farms in the east with production of 100-150 bags every 4 days, real farmers don't have time for seminars its only e-farmers that collect money from people to teach them what supposed to be free, there's one that is telling people to pay to teach them how to harvest 1000 fruits on 12feet by 6 feet land,HAAAAAAAHAaaaa,oh my GOD,if he can get 12,bags(75,000k now)from that small piece of land he will not have time to beg folks to pay 3,000k for training. 2 Likes |
