Bought this half bag of oranges for N600 (Six hundred Naira not 6k) somewhere in Benue State. The orange seller by my estate gate here in Lagos sells 3 or 4 oranges for N100 depending on their size. Annoying part is some of the sellers won't sell theirs by the end of the day. While farmers are producing, not much is being done for further processing of these agricultural products which end up wasting. Also, Bag of Garri N2200 15 Tubers of yam N3000 57 Likes 4 Shares

natinhoo: To be honest with you, I didn't feel the need to haggle the price. Like I was cheating her or something. Last year I got almost same size for N300 and the girl offered me another bag for same price but the one I paid for was more than enough. 130 Likes 7 Shares |

omo17: Buy them in large quantities and sell in major cities or if you have the financial muscle, set up a fruit juice production plant in the state. There's an abundance of fruits in the state and neighbouring Cross River (mostly Bananas, Pineapples, Cocoa). But again, the market for the finished products is not there. That's why the likes of Chi are located in and around Lagos. 30 Likes 2 Shares |

Food basket. Bili that Nigeria's agricultural sector has issues of: there are no storage to ensure we have agricultural products all year round. There is also the issue of poor transportation of these items. For example, rail transport is cheaper to move these items from sources to markets. Government has been playing politics with and paying lip service to agriculture. The list continues... 9 Likes 2 Shares |
