Seyi Makinde For Governor Oyo State: I think at this point in our time in the Nigerian society, it is almost unacceptable for an educated person to remain apolitical. We've for a long time clamoured for relatively young, exposed, intelligent and educated Nigerians to play important roles in our politics by contesting for office. One of such individuals is Seyi Makinde of Oyo state. Another point is that in times like these, we may need to look beyond the parties and focus on the contestants and their antecedents. Here again, Seyi Makinde stands out heads and shoulders above the other contestants from Oyo state. His philanthropical contributions in education and health in Oyo state are commendable. He has been in the picture for a while and has his plans for development well stated and structured due to his tenacity and belief that "one day will be one day". Why should we give our votes to people that have been handpicked by the powers that be; and those that are not conversant with the plights of the common people? Seyi is willing, prepared and able. Basic123:well, he is brilliant no doubt. First class degrees don't make people popular,do they? There are many first class holders who are not known, yes or no? HE had a stellar professional career rising to deputy cbn governor. Even that doesn't make one popular. If i ask you for the name of the current cbn deputy governor,you might have to google it. I doubt if anything PDP can hold water in Oyo state. Early last year they seems serious, but now that they've splited to form different parties, I yinmu like seyi makinde like Sowore, better candidates that can't win 1 Like |

obaaderemi:Showing signs of your potentials doesn't equate to fulfilment. We all saw the many promises Buhari and his crew gave in the last election but nothing came out. Politicians are good at sweet talks and philanthropic activities when they need votes but run away when they've gotten what they want. |

Basic123:we have seen what apc can do and it is woeful as well. Nigerians are worse off today than they were in the past. I have no business with adebibu nor akala. But since you brought it up, let us look at it. Has ajimobi/apc corrected the ills of the akala/pdp era? Education continues to slide, infrastructural gap and corruption are worse today in oyo state than before. Pension and salary payments have never been this bad in oyo. Should we rather then not remove our focus from these parties both apc and pdp, and discuss the individuals? My response was to the lady who brought up pdp. 3 Likes |

Who among the candidates, is a true builder of businesses and who appears as the kind of leader who would wait for handouts from Federal government? A week to state election in Oyo state. Alliances are being made. But one thing that counts is the will of the people. We in Oyo state should be wary of voting into office someone with strings attached to godfathers. Seyi Makinde has proven to be a man with a large heart for the masses of the state. He is not brash in his speech, this is a sign of someone who listens. We no longer want a loud mouth and arrogant person as governor in Oyo state. Igbokid:You might have to read from the beginning. The response was to a lady who brought PDP into the conversation. Both candidates are brilliant, one from the world of accounting and the other from the world of engineering. But then, one is more connected to the masses than the other. One is more connected to godfatherism than the other. A man without his hands tied by godfathers is what we need and not someone who is not conversant enough with the problems of the state. Thanks. |

Supporters of the incumbent party in Oyo state are saying something we've heard for ages: Oyo state can not afford to be in opposition. We would not get enough federal attention. This line is moot. Not under the same party as the center has not stopped serious minded leaders from performing. Obafemi Awolowo did well, Jakande did well, Bola ige did well and many others. They were in opposition. When Ajimobi came in, he was not in the PDP. |

If you understand the people in Oyo you will know Seyi makinde is on the lips of everyone,the only saving grace APC has presently is to use federal might to rig the election, it is good the alliance of akala is comming early, so we can plan to counter him in ogbomosho,meanwhile we tested microphone last week Saturday, we will go full blast next week Saturday. There is one candidate like that who is having three God father.. one is a former Lagos state governor, an incumbent governor (megalomanaic, proud, lack iwa omoluabi and was disgrace last week over re-election bid to the NA) and a former governor who was voted out of office ( unstable and is presently been decieved by the power that be, making him to lost focus of his relection bid).
