Why Atiku's Absence From The Debate Benefitted Buhari. By Nairalander by Nobody: 8:50am On Jan 20, 2019 |
Why Atiku's absence from the debate benefitted Buhari Before the debate, Erudite Professor and chairman, Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption, Prof Itse Sagay said Buhari won't attend the debate because Atiku and the rest candidates are "political dwarfs" and as such, Buhari appearing with them in a debate is just to give relevance to people who have no hope. https://www.sunnewsonline.com/why-buhari-wont-debate-with-atiku-others-sagay/ Atiku refusing to debate with Oby, Mogholu and Fela because Buhari (the Giant) is not present only add more credence to President Buhari position that he and the other candidates are political dwarfs. In Atiku press release he said "we came here for a Presidential debate, not a candidacy debate". Atiku is only admitting that among the "Political dwarfs" he is taller. Who benefitted more from Atiku absent from the debate among the undecided? I will say Buhari and the third forces gained more. Buhari poor performance in debate is well known. Atiku absent from the debate have place Atiku at the same level with Buhari as people who can't debate with intellectuals like Oby, mogholu and fela. This is a big turn off for many undecided which Atiku needs to win to be able to wrestle power from the incumbent Buhari with many Arsenals that come with Incumbency at his disposal. Buhari support base never expected Buhari to attend the debate in the first place. Support for Buhari has nothing to do with his debate skills, eloquence or intellectual superiority. There were group of people who were undecided on alternative to Buhari who wanted to hear from Atiku to see if they can support his candidacy. He just ended up loosing such people especially in the south west region. Buhari main support base are illiterate notherners who don't care about debate. Atiku absent from the debate has simply place Atiku and Buhari on the same basket of old politicians who can't engage the new generation intellectuals like Oby, Mogholu and Fela. According to Mogholu one of them is pot the other kettle. When Buhari and Atiku is viewed negatively on the same issue, Buhari wins because it destroy the zeal for people to want him replaced. From my little knowledge of Boxing, it is very difficult to win a defending champion without a knockout/ technical knockout. In many cases where there is no knockout/technical knockout the defending champion tend to retain his/her title. 10 Likes 2 Shares |

Benefited indeed. The absence from the debate has priven who buhari truly is...a failure . And who says atiku didn't show up, OP? He left because his main opponent was conspicuously absent without a cogent reason . The debate was postponed two times because of buhari yet, he was still absent . She had all the opportunity to attend to prove himself as a sitting president. He had helicopters and presidential jets at his disposal to take him there from wherever he was campaigning. Buhari cant be trusted. If you do good, you'd be confident to defend that good. His supporters are as blind as he is. Whatever people say about atiku, oun ni maa dibo fun 8 Likes 1 Share |

APC and supporters it's is just a gathering of Nigeria's best hands in foolishness, a tyrant denied Nigerians opportunity to have a conversation wt him and their media Imbe¢iles are here making it all abt ATIKU and most annoyingly insulting our intelligence the more by shifting the blame to ATIKU for not taking part in the debate that Buhari disregarded and belittled Nigerians by not showing up at the venue. Wat happened to leading by example and these God forsaken BMCs and their tyrant/terrorist Buhari should be apologising to Nigerians for their disregard buh instead in thier arrogance as usual they are trying so hard to turn the table around as if we all are as foolish as the have all forever chosen to be.... 4 Likes 1 Share |
