If the CCT gave the order in violation of an existing court of appeal ruling, that should be another good point of appeal if you ask me. The court of appeal didn’t order Buhari not to suspend Onnoghen. In effect, the president has no business with that judgement. The order of the CCT is what was addressed to the president and he acted accordingly.

The way your view this is wrong and am sure nothing i say will change the ethnic or political side you hv chosen.

Appointment into certain positions for acting capacity is usually by seniority. Typical example is INEC, CBN, SSS DG, CJN etc. In the case of a temporary vacuum in that highest office, the most senior takes over. But when it comes to appointment especially the CJN, the NJC nominates 3 of the Senior judges that have considerable time before retirement where the president can choose 1.

This one was one of such cases, the president cant just pick anyone, it has to be the most senior irrespective of where he comes from.

Meanwhile, this CJN is just acting pending the case against the former CJN.

Well the suspended CJN knows what to do. If they feel that the CCT erred in that ex parte order, he should simply appeal the order and get his position back, it’s not rocket science. I may not like the president but he acted based on court order.

The new acting CJN before now was the second in hierarchy to the suspended CJN.It will be improper to appoint a junior in hierararchy.When a governor is impeached it is the deputy that takes over command.It happens that the second in hierarchy is a northerner and a muslim.

The CCT’s order is dated 23rd. The court of appeals order is dated 24th. Has the CCT reconvened after the order of the appeal court? NO!
