Mr OP, tune up your wailing to the highest possible volume nothing is going to change or happen.

We are on to the next level and the cjn is gone for good.

Your jankara CJN is only the figment of your imagination, Buhari action is null and void so in the eyes of the law nothings changed.

The sooner we dump this 1999 criminal constitution the better for us all, people believe it is some kind of moses law, or it was written by angel gabriel and his angelic legal team, meanwhile it was arranged by abacha's suppreme military council headed by abdulsalam and some corrupt politician to protect massive looting and give them immuinity. Same law that favors the Rich and criminalises the poor, yet it is our tax and resources that made them rich

Integrity and good reputation is better than silver and gold. Onnoghen may have acquired all these through dubious means but his integrity as a judge is gone forever and will always be remembered as a corruptible judge.

Buhari is despotic. There is no excuse to flouting constitutional provisions for selfish political gain. He is too old for all these. He better die with the integrity he has built so far than destroy everything he will be remembered for just like Onnoghen has done.

Integrity is priceless

Almost everyone on social media voiced former Finance Minister Kemi Adeosun into resigning. Some even asked that the President remove her to prove that he's truly fighting corruption. When the brilliant woman saw that she truly erred by submitting a fake NYSC Exemption certificate, she did the honourable thing. She tendered her resignation letter and left. She RESIGNED!
By that time, those of you ethnic jingoists didn't see Kemi as a Southerner. You screamed at her, cyber bullied her and even hurled abuses at her. Now it is the turn of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen, who admitted himself that he 'forgot' to declare his domiciliary accounts which was loaded with £23,409, €49,971 and $391,401, including 55 houses undeclared, and by so doing, he breached the Code of Conduct as a Public officer and was suppose to have resigned straightaway if he had any modicum of honour, integrity and shame as the custodian of the Nigerian Law, but he didn't. Instead, he was doing everything to stall his trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal. All those times, you didn't call for his resignation the same way you did with Kemi, you didn't bully him to resign the way you bullied Kemi, you were instead urging him to stay on, you were drumming support for him and some of you that were deceiving yourselves with your forming neutrality didn't say anything all this while too, you deliberately turned dumb. When it was first revealed a fortnight ago that the Chief Justice of Nigeria didn't declare his domiciliary accounts with dollars starched in it, all you were vituperating was that the President wanted to remove him because he's a southerner. You acted dumb on the offence he committed. Now that the CJN has been suspended, those of you fake neutralists are now crying foul. You're screaming that democracy is in danger. Can y'all see how nonsensically hypocritical you are? Your hypocrisy is legendary. Your hypocrisy stinks. You shouted and bullied Kemi Adeosun into resignation but aiding Onnoghen who can't explain how he got the foreign currencies starched in his domiciliary accounts which he didn't declare plus 55 houses. A whooping 55 houses.
Instead of the CJN to resign honourably and go clear himself, he was busy running from pillar to post buying injunctions to stop the case against him. Just a couple of days ago, another $630,000 and $800,000 was discovered in his separate domiciliary accounts again. Y'all pretended you didn't see the news, abi? Sensing that he could be suspended by the NJC, the CJN quickly suspend their meeting indefinitely. Why? So that he can stay on. You can imagine!
You asked Kemi to resign but Onnoghen who was selling justice for dollars and deliberately didn't declare those dollars in his domiciliary accounts including 55 houses should stay on, and he should be left alone.
Arrant nonsense.

I blame PDP for destroying our educational system if not you would understand the 3 tiers of government. A minister is appointed by the executive!
I have come to realize most Buhari supporters don't understand the difference, and most don't even care, afterall when Aisha raised the alarm of a 2 man cabal, BMC called her an enemy of Nigeria.
It's more of a man worship that common sense coz I don't understand what policy Buhari/Osinbanjo currently have that would being back 20M jobs in 4 years.

Unfortunately for u the CJN was not solely appointed by the President unlike Kemi case, she was hired and can be fired by the president whenever he deems fit however in Onnoghens case here is what the law says

The charge against the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen ought not to have been instituted at the Code of Conduct of Tribunal in view of the case of Nganjiwa v FRN (2017) LPELR 43391 wherein the Court of Appeal held that a judicial officer who has not been investigated by the National Judicial Council and sanctioned for misconduct cannot be arraigned in any criminal court in Nigeria.

In other words the right way to go about it was to petition the NJC who will investigate and sanction him to resign if he is found guilty.

The CCT has no jurisdiction to sanction any judicial officer unless upon recommendations of the NJC

I hope I have made myself clear enough for simpletons like u

PDP ARE SUPPORTER OF CORRUPTION

You honestly are missing the point.

We like to characterise people that criticize this government ad PDP.

We have a constitution that spells out devolution of power into 3 arms of government. No arm of government is subservient to the other. they both co-equals.

The moment we decide that we can jettison a rule of law to the whims and caprices of a single person then we have entered into anarchy.

A nation is great because the rules are followed and no one is bigger than the law, regardless of the title the person bares.

Barondenigeria:
Cephas Kadiri

Let me start by quoting the classic philosopher Aristotle- "It is more proper that law should govern than any one of the citizens". Plato on the other hand saw the defence of the Rule of Law as the best possible political order.

The above corroborates the certitude that the notion of the efficiency, competence, and supremacy of the law has been known for aeon years.
Following wicked King John's penchant for bringing disrepute, ignominy and his constant disregard of the rights of the English people, the barons eventually succeeded in creating that single document capable of checking the powers of the tyrant leader; thus was born "The Great Charter" on the 15th of June, 1215.

Since the birth of the Magna Carter, Judicial systems all over the world have been fortified and toughened by the authority and influence of law in society, especially when the law is viewed as a constraint on individual and institutional behavior.

In 1789, In his two Treatises on Government, John Locke disclosed that the impending danger inherently laden in consolidating the three organs of state in the hands of one, might be cataclysmic.
Now to the draconian antics of the Muhammadu Buhari led federal Government.

Throughout the year 2018, on various instances, we witnessed the Buhari led federal government make intrepid attempts to hijack the Legislative arm of Government.
We saw desperate attempts to change the leadership of both houses via the back door; what many will term a "legislative coup".
We saw federal government sponsored lawmakers desecrate the hallowed chambers.

We witnessed the president's seceret police lay siege to the National assembly complex, we have seen the president go after vociferous legislators for mustering the effrontery to speak out against the Govenrment. We even witnessed the National chairman of the president's party publicly offer salvation and freedom from prosecution to corrupt politicians once they joined the ruling APC.

With the legislature failing to cave in, the Buhari led federal government has shifted its focus to the judiciary.
On countless occasions, having flagrantly violated orders of various trial courts, the retired general has constantly shown little regard for the rule of law.

The position of the law regarding the removal of the Chief Justice of Nigeria remains clear; wherein removal could be interpreted as replaced, suspended, fired or whatever choice of word you so prefer.
Section 292 (Constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria, 1999).

“A judicial officer shall not be removed from his office or appointment before his age of retirement except in the following circumstances;
(a) in the case of –
"Chief Justice of Nigeria, President of the Court of Appeal, Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Chief Judge of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Grand Kadi of the Sharia Court of Appeal of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja and President, Customary Court of Appeal of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, by the President acting on an address supported by two-thirds majority of the Senate.”
(ii) Chief Judge of a State, Grand Kadi of a Sharia Court of Appeal or President of a Customary Court of Appeal of a State, by the Governor acting on an address supported by two-thirds majority of the House of Assembly of the State, Praying that he be so removed for his inability to discharge the functions of his office or appointment (whether arising from infirmity of mind or of body) or for misconduct or contravention of the Code of Conduct;

(b) in any case, other than those to which paragraph (a) of this subsection applies, by the President or, as the case may be, the Governor acting on the recommendation of the National Judicial Council that the judicial officer be so removed for his inability to discharge the functions of his office or appointment (whether arising from infirmity of mind or of body) or for misconduct or contravention of the Code of Conduct."

The president and his handlers have not exploited a constitutional lacuna as they claim, but have simply gone against the rules; however since this is not the first, i am far from shocked.

Muhammadu Buhari's despotic tendencies are very well known. With his tacit admission to compromising the integrity of the independent national electoral commission, and now in a despairing attempt to manipulate the results of the coming elections, he has gone ahead to contravene our constitution and to debase the Judiciary by unconstitutionally desecrating the office of the Chief Justice of Nigeria.

This is a wake up call to all lovers of democracy and liberty. There is a shadow of gloom cast over Nigeria's democratic process. These signs are ominous, the future is bleak!

I close by paraphrasing British wartime foreign Secretary "Sir Edward Grey". "The lamps are going out all over Nigeria, we may never see them lit again in our time".

See how much energy you put into defending a corrupt judge.
The lamp of Nigeria is not going out. It's corruption that's bolting out of Nigeria.

Why do you encourage corruption.

A judge, especially of the calibre of CJN, should be above board.

All you’ve written are what they want you to believe so they wld crucify him to achieve the goal of replacing him.

First of all, there is no $800k or $630k is all BS. But the 3 dorm accounts granted he forgot to declare it in 2011 as thats when the accounts where opened but from what he said he thot they were opened before then and his 2009 forms captured it. Fast forward 2016 he took two forms declared the period omitted and declared a Peroid covering 2016 to 2020, to retirement including these very same accounts, yet everyone seems to be forgetting that he did DECLARE IT as far as 2016 but for their convenience they don’t mention it.

The CCB act provides that you if you omit something and you provide written admission the case shall not be referred to the CCT, hope you are aware of that.

We are so quick to grab a calculator and start coverting how much money is in the account forgetting that we talking of a peroid of 2011. Dollar was less than 130 or so all of a sudden we are quick to judge. How can a civil servant get that kind of money in 2019? He’s bankers are alive, I’m sure they are questioning them. It’s investments but proceeds are paid in the dorm account. Not everyone is foolish some pple plan for their retirement. He’s not stupid to have money in his account that can’t be explained

55 houses you say discovered, absolute hogwash! I’m not even going to respond. Until they prove that he owns such.

PDP ARE SUPPORTER OF CORRUPTION
Are you comparing Kemi's case with the CJN? 1st , How can one arm of government remove the other one without due process. Nigerians are not in support of the fund in the CJN account but due process must have been followed. Wait, are you aware that the CCT chairman , Danladi, is till on trial. And PMB can even quote it that his decision was made by the instructions from a court head by same Danladi. See, We're in a big mess, I repeat we're in big mess. Note, another President will remove his VP, Chief Judge and Senate President and nothing we happened. The three arms of government is to check mate not to dictate.

I am not speaking up for any corrupt leader. Both PDP, APC, Executives, Legislatives and Judiciary are all mostly filled up with first class crooks.

The judicial system is a mess. We have a court case that has been on court for over 13 years. We have all the documents to prove the land is ours while the land thieves have nothing. Yet the judge kept adjourning and adjourning until he retired. So are these the kind of people we should fight for.

I mind my business when armed robbers in Agbada, natives and suits are fighting.

Youths, leave these thieves to fight.

The Chief Justice should have honourably resigned knowing fully well he is a crook. We have a corrupt judiciary because the law is now protecting thieves.

The man is going for good, you can never get justice from Onoghen if you don't have dollar. So what's the hope of poor people that need justice. Onoghen is a black sheep in the judiciary and he must go.

Is anyone in Nigeria closely following what is going on in Venezuela?

And if you are following, what does it tell you?

Ok. Let me give you an inkling of what will likely happen in Nigeria if Buhari and APC rig the 2019 election.

You have read the statements put out by the United States and the United Kingdom earlier on Thursday the 24th of January where both countries specifically warned against the rigging of the election and promised visa sanctions and even international prosecution for those who will be caught or indicted in the rigging of the election. Those who don't know or those who are so blind that they can't see, think that the statements by those countries are empty boasts. Let anyone in INEC, the security agencies and in the federal or state governments even try to rig this election and see. The international observers are coming in huge numbers more than ever before after reading the reports of the shame and sham in Osun State. The word has spread round and they are coming with a large delegation to observe the elections.

It's such a shame that the perceived gains of our electoral advancement in 2011 and debatably in 2015, have been eroded by the selfish and evil machinations of a desperate self-serving cabal.

With the US and the UK releasing warnings to Nigeria about electoral malpractices, it doesn't take much to look at what has been happening in Venezuela in the past three days or so.

In Venezuela, the leader of the opposition party ran for the Presidency with the incumbent President. The election was heavily rigged in the incumbent's favour and the international observers from the European Union and other countries, including the USA, reported the malpractices in that election to their home countries.

And what has happened?

President Trump of America a few hours ago duly recognised the opposition party leader as the President of Venezuela. Trump says the election was rigged and that the incumbent has to leave. What has followed? The European Union, Canada and other countries have also recognised the opposition party leader as the rightful President-in-waiting. Trump and the other countries have directed that all oil proceeds due to Venezuela be kept in a special account and will not be sent to Venezuela till the opposition candidate is rightfully sworn in. Trump has also agreed that the opposition leader can form his cabinet which the international community has agreed to recognise.

This means that the Venezuelan opposition party leader is now a President in the eyes of the world, while the incumbent president in his country is screaming blue murder. The opposition President will be given the status of an international Head of State and will be thus recognised. It's only a matter of time before the incumbent in Venezuela either accepts defeat or is removed by the people's protest when biting economic sanctions hit very soon.

How does this relate to the February election in Nigeria? Only the discerning can see what will happen.

If Buhari and INEC and the security agencies attempt to rig the election and results which do not reflect the will of the voters are declared, Nigeria should prepare themselves for the Venezuelan treatment.

Every Nigerian should be asking for right now is for free and fair elections in Nigeria. Let the people's will prevail.

It won't take one month of sanctions on us before the reality of what the effects of a rigged election on our economy and national psyche hit home.

A word is enough for the wise.

We all know the right things but shy away from them all because of our strong hatred for this man (PMB) no more no less. OBJ that we almost prosecuted suddenly become our our spokesperson. Atiku whom we see as HausaFulani just like PMB because he chose ours as his VP is now most favourable person.
Why are we still in all these having declared him(PMB) as clueless, Jibrin or whatever names by our runaway fugitive. Why not ignore all these and face our own nation (Biafra) independence.
