You ended it with an attack.

Simple, There are a lot of quality coaches who would not handle the Super Eagles in such Conservative manner. We have been down this route for so long but still, after many months, we tuck our tails and played the South Africans with so much fear.

I guess the offensive coaches who have built their careers playing offensively lack coaching ideas.

I am saying Rohr lacks the creative idea to build a formidable team that will make us challenge for top honours.

I can bet if Siasia was in the helm of affairs of this team for this long, we would be playing in much braver fashion and delivering better results.

I feel like puking when I watch us play and I am not exaggerating.

grin

I was even expecting a Zidane or Pep.

Siasia that couldn't manage a 2-1 lead against Guinea. A lead that would have been enough for us to qualify instead he was gunning for a compressive 3-1 win and he left the back open and bang Guinea equalized.

Siasia that couldn't maintain a 1-0 lead against Egypt in Abuja. I can see he attacked and won the return fixture in Alexandria.

I can bet u Siasia has learned his lessons and would not coach like that again.

And again who are the creative players that Rohr dropped from the team?

I totally disagree with you. Siasia problem was time. With more games in hand, Siasia would have qualified us. Unlike Rohr who has had a great deal of time and not moved us an inch.

Siasia is a brilliant offensive mind but has been denied the time to build a formidable team.

I can even go as far as saying Rohr would never have set up the Team B of the Super Eagles the way Salisu did in the game against Atletico Madrid. We played with far more creativity than any of Rohr’s teams. Let alone Siasia.

U think this is ManCity?

You think coaches like being on the defensive end?

Show me the home game where Rohr went consciously defensive? The away game that we Defended our result were against Cameroon and SA. You think Cameroon and SA will be the ones Defending when the result was not in their favor? They were expected to come all out and attack and then Rohr would have to protect what he had. It is typical for losing teams to always be on the offensive. This is a no brainer.

Please drop all this text book tactics and go for a real coaching certificate.

And please who are the creative players that were dropped from the team?

I tire my broda. sometime when the goodjoe describes d way and manner he expect us to play. I begin to wonder if we all of sudden we nave d array of talent to play DAT way. Common its d SUPER EAGLES OF "NIGERIA". It actually do sound like fiction to me(thegoodjoes dream). ofcourse , attaining such is certainly not impossible but requires time. I do not think d NFF and definitely football loving Nigerians will be patient enough with d team to master such style of play or do u expect d team to get immediate results if/when we start playing in DAT manner?? let's be patient with d coach, for me he(rohr) as been a suucess with d team so far.

I have already listed three players that will show you the mentality of Rohr and how it has held the team back.

His handling of Ebuehi, Aina and Onyekuru.

I can understand making do with the resources available but in Rohr’s case, he is not. A good example is his fear to utilise the abilities of Aina and Ebuehi. He will resort to using Shehu in tough games because he lacks the ability to set up the team in an offensive manner. His selection is mostly towards a Conservative set up. Even when he is attacking, his foot is on the breaks. We are just sailing by but we are not growing into a formidable side. This is due to us not working towards it.

The WC games that Aina played how did he fair? He didn't even show enough to displace Echiejile.

As for Ebuehi, Abdullahi Shehu at that time of the Qualifiers was having a form of his life. Rohr needed a very strong RB that could cope with the physicality of the Cameroonians. That aside you dont throw in a Newbie into a very crucial game of that calibre.

Finally you don't change a winning team. That is a vital philosophy of coaching and this is more prevailent for the national teams.

The question was if Tammy was rude in the way he rejected us - answer is NO.

Then, u didn't get the question. The question was if we should go ask Tammy to join our Afcon party - answer is NO.

Understand the point.

We are not working towards playing in a braver fashion if we keep setting up to make small gains. If we look back since Rohr took over, there is no significant improvement in our play. We can certainly play better.

Leave the attacks of dream or that. Deal with the point. We have not moved ahead in play, that is why we resorted to negativity against the South Africans.

We can do better if we work harder towards it. I do not expect a magic wand but a conscious effort to move the team to play better.

On Onyekuru even now I am still yet to see what he brings to the team, he and Success. Unlike Samuel Kalu, Onyekuru and Success are yet to show us what they can really offer that team.

My guts tell me he may be referring to Rohr's disfavor towards the likes of Onyekuru because of their defensive deficiencies grin

And I remember feeling "Keshi should have been more conservative" during the confeds in whivh I had high hopes for and in which we lost 3-0 and 2-0 to Spain and Uruguay respectively. Where did all the attacking play get us?

Rohr can keep his so called winning philosophy. A lot of people are buying it. Not me.

I repeat, Rohr can not set up the team to get the best of our creative players. That is why I earlier pointed out that those calling for the inclusion of Aina should do so with a pinch of salt because he would not flourish with the way Rohr sets the team up.

So asking Aina how far shows you are not getting the point.

We lost to Spain in the confeds but one thing was clear, we gave them one of their toughest games of the tournament. We were on route to something but unfortunately, other factors affected the team.

Conservative football keeps the team stagnant or even rolls the team back in quality.

To become a top team takes conscious efforts and bravery or we will stay were we are. Scared of South Africa.

We can not expect stellar performances from the players if the set up and playing pattern is lethargic. The system first.

Remember the game against SA at Uyo where Rohr kept introducing forwards but the result was still dire? That is what a poor a set up does to the players.

Look at how lethargic Rashford, Martial, Lukaku and Sanchez looked in Mourinho's system. Look at them now in a more refreshing system. That is how models of play affects forwards.

Finito.

Onyekuru that could not trap a simple pass against Libya and ended up foiling a beautiful goal bound move. I am yet to see what Henry Onyekuru has to offer that team. Can u compare him with Samuel Kalu? Even Chukwueze with his 45mins display against Uganda has shown us that can be a viable option at the Right wing.

Precisely my point. Short term gains. If not, you cut it off, not setting sights at the bigger picture. It takes a long term growth with the site of a formidable team in future. Rohr has qualified us repeatedly but our play is dire and we will still play in a Conservative manner in coming games.

That is my kick against short term gains. It is not the right approach for the long term.

But mighty Spain went South Africa an lost by a goal.

If we had attacked SA and that boy who kept on dribbling us (can't remember his name) had a chance to penetrate and set up a winning goal against us, wouldn't Rohr be counted foolish to throw away our qualification chances?

I watched the game closely. For the better part of the 2nd half SA found us impenetrable. We had them exactly where we wanted them.

In your Rohr’s system he can not trap ball. In better systems, he is one of the hot property in Europe. Food for thought.

Ghana has achieved a feat we are yet to. But guest what? They were conservative at the world cup, with only Gyan up top.

At a point Ghanaians nicknamed their team a one-goal project because they defended more often and hardly scored.

But they almost got to the semi's. Which still remains a dream to us.

How do you expect us to set up our team like Mancity when we do not been have defenders who can make runs or pass the ball into the midfield effectively.

Rohr has done very fine with our team. I am a happy fan.

I always welcome competition. It is good for the team. The question is, will Rohr be able to get the best of the players when the time comes? His approach is hindering this.

It was very obvious Siasia was not matured enough for the senior team job.

We gave him some Time and tried him again in 2015. He seemed to have gotten better but still not yet ready.

There was no way we would have continued with an obviously inexperienced coach like Siasia after his performance during the 2012 AFCON qualfiers. Their was no need to be patient with a coach like that.

Small gains. After that, can Ghana stand up to face top sides. Any team can do well with negativity. Heck, Greece won the Euros with negativity but have gone into the abyss of football.

It took Nigeria bravery and courage to get to become one of the top 10 teams in the World. People shivered at the name of Super Eagles. The Super was not a mistake.

How can we develop creative defenders if we keep setting up in Conservative manners. It is not magic. We have to decide to make conscious efforts to move the team in a more creative manner to achieve such gains. If not, five years from now, we will still be parking bus to seem impenetrable against tough sides.
