No I didn't show proof of funds. However, my employer gave me a separate letter confirming maintenance for my dependant, even though maintenance was ticked on my CoS. Mamatukwas: 1 Like |

@justwise evening bros, please i want to ask a question. I got to UK for my masters programme and then my dad had little issue with his business cos he owns a company and its got to do with taking contracts so he wasn't paid early enough to balance my fees of 2,000£ out of 14,000£ and then struggled to raise 1200£ and by then my Faculty had sent me email and then i had explained and pleaded with them most especially finance dept to please give me some more time to pay the balance of 800£ and i was in my final semester, they didn't and blocked my student id from gaining access to the university to receive my lecture so i used to submit my assignments via my modules until one terrible day they sent me a withdrawal letter that i can't continue my final modules again and then didnt receive any email or letter from Home office about me going back, anyway i came back to Nigeria before my visa was to expire. But now i want to travel with my hubby and son for 10days holiday should i explain it or ignore as i saw the place they asked if one was required to leave the UK or deported. And i said NO because of a truth i never received any letter or email from them then. And then few months after had returned to Nigeria home office emailed me that am witout legal status and then imformed them have left the uk for Nigeria since and sent all my flight ticket and immigration stamp in Nigeria upon arrival then the guy said to me thankn me for my co-operation that i he has indicated on their computers that have left for my country and with that it should negate any difficulties if i wish to return to the uk in future. See attached the email response from the home office guy. Note:- Have got three travel history wt Uk bfr my study visa and i always went wt my parents then for holiday so never had issues hence the issuance of my study visa. Would be submitting my application on tuesday. Pls advice me wat i shud do.? Should i write a cover letter? |

Ejiroghene89: You have to give brief explanation about the issue since they sent the email after you left the UK. Explaining it will not affect the outcome of the visa application because you have done the right thing by leaving the UK. It will only enhance your immigration profile by coming out clean about the issue. |

@justwise. I want to apply for a UK visa, I don't want to ask for an invitation letter from the people I know but would rather prefer to lodge. How can I get a moderate hotel booking that can be valid. How much is expected as minimum travel amount. I intend using my corporate account statement of account. Will I require to attach pay slip?. @FrontPageLawyer, @OGreene, @ekpotek, @ty01 |

Hello, I plan to visit UK in April about easter period (For 7 days) to see my girlfriend although i plan to use hotel booking when applying. I am looking at applying last day in February (About A month away). I earn about 300,000 monthly (about 5 million per annum including other benefits). I have about 900,000 as account balance now (Salary account) and should have about 1.3m by end of february. Do you think the account balance is sufficient and also not sort of lodgement? NB:I have been to the UK 3 times between 2011 and 2014 for both studies and visiting @justwise, @FrontPageLawyer, @OGreene, @ekpotek, @ty01 |

mayo47: How much is your budget for this trip? Flight, accommodation, feeding, transport, sight seeing, miscellaneous, etc. I’ll advise you apply as a tourist, leave your girlfriend out of it for now. |

Unfelt:Thanks for your response. I used 'walk in" and "priority" when I applied for my visa. I paid with card at the VAC. I discovered there was a very very huge difference between when you pay with card at the centre and when you pay online. Thanks anyway, I will just transfer the naira equivalent of the online cost to madam and ask her to pay with card at the VAC. And I will pray very very hard that she returns my change 1 Like |

eppiespice: This is student visa thread here https://www.nairaland.com/2575449/uk-student-visa-tier-4 Your uncle can not sponsor you and you can't use his bank statement but he can transfer the money into your account. Please read that thread and the link in the first page to understand more about student visa rules. |

mayo47: If you budget within 2months of your salary it will help your application because your salary level is good. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by ty01: 5:07am On Jan 29, 2019 |
mayo47: The bold item is not clear to me. Please clarify. Do you mean you some inflows that are not your salary in your account? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by ty01: 5:22am On Jan 29, 2019 |
mayo47: Looks ok, plus your previous trips to the UK will also greatly boost your application success. My few thoughts: 1. you can further reduce your budget: you can look for a cheaper flight to Manchester - please let your budget agree with the amount on your flight booking. 2. There are also cheaper accommodation options on bookings.com. 3. Your letter of introduction from your employer should state that your leave is with pay. 4. I’ll advise you to include shopping and miscallenous in your budget as well - I always do this whenever I apply for tourist visas. 5. Overall, let your total budget be in the neighborhood of 600k, given your current salary and account balance. |

Hello. @justwise and others. Please i have a question to ask. I want to apply for a renewal for my visa that will expire around april. I want to apply for a 2 year visa this time around. However in the past i had been denied a visa three times. But on the third time, i appealed through the organization that organized the convention i intended on attending and they overturned the decision and gave me a visa. So i wish to ask would the past denials pose affect my chances of getting the visa? And can i get a 2 years visa if i apply as a tourist now? Also I have a student visa for south africa as I plan on starting my phd research next month. Please what are my chances and any advice for me? |

Hi All, I need some advice if possible. I'm British, my wife Nigerian. She's with me here on a settlement visa all fine. We applied for a visitor visa for her mum to come and visit and we were refused on the grounds that we hadn't proved that she would leave the UK once her visa has expired. We stated the dates she would be visiting from and to, proved that I would be sponsoring her financially in full, proved she would be staying with us. She is retired and relies on money from her sons and daughters and what little pension she gets. Cheers |
