This is a secret about how to have career connections with embassies, high commissions and consulates of non-English speaking countries in Nigeria even if you can communicate only in English. These non-English speaking foreign missions are often in need of Nigerians they can communicate with in their own language, to fill emergency and casual positions. This saves them the cost and the time of having to bring their own nationals to do every single thing.

Apart from the French-speaking countries among them, who often get cheap staff from neighboring Benin Republic (and even Nigeria) and the Arabic-speaking nations who are helped by Muslims at times, the rest will often jump at any local who can communicate with them and who is interested in working with them especially in non-specific job positions (the specifics are usually filled from home).

These non-English speaking foreign missions are especially interested in you if you let them know you are particularly interested in their culture, that you are willing to learn more of their culture (including language) and you desire to work for their interest locally.

You'd better do all this in an email exchange with them. So, the challenge now is how to communicate convincingly with them in their own language for you to start a relationship with them on a career basis. But don't worry about this challenge as there is a very convenient way around it which I am going to let you know.

The truth is that you may not see as much money as you might expect from them. But, for me, the relationship is what matters most - not only with embassy officials and staff but also with visitors.

But, this is not to say that the money does not matter at all. This is why I advise you to go for countries with a high currency exchange rate relative to the Naira. This will ensure that whatever pay you get will turn out huge in Naira value.

I have been compiling a list of these non-English speaking countries with a presence in Nigeria but I have not completed it due to an unexpected busy schedule during the month. I will make it available as soon as it is ready.

The compilation focuses on the following:
1. Non-English speaking countries with a presence in Nigeria, their official language, their official currency and it's exchange rate with the Naira. To stop the list from being too long, I am including only countries whose currency exchanges with the Naira at least at the ratio of 1:40 (so that you can take an informed decision). The number of countries compiled will hopefully be about 50.

2. Their contact details in Nigeria including physical addresses, phone numbers and email addresses.

3. Lessons to help you communicate in the language of your chosen countries in just 3 days. This is extremely easy as you will see.

4. Sample emails and replies you can send to them and how to very easily construct them in the official language of each listed country.
