Good evening group, please my husband has been in SA for seven months now and since then he has not found anything doing. He applied for permit but its not forthcoming. Please can someone help me out so that he can get something doing. He's a medical doctor but can't apply for jobs because he's yet to get his papers

What's his immigration status?

Both of you may most likely encounter different POE officials so let your host(which ever one you choose) put it in writing that he's accommodating you and attach relevant documents which you would present at the PoE

Thanks . I really appreciate.

Contact your school. They will advice better.

Thank you very much. I did that and this was their response:

Good day

SUI do not contact Embassies. If your application was complete, the SAHC asks for eight to ten weeks to process. We are not able to rush them, they have processes to go through. You will be allowed to register to end of March.

Thanks for understanding. A list of all students from Nigeria has been sent through. You are one of 100.

At least I now have peace of mind.

hi everyone, has anyone here ever talked their way through South Africa immigration without a visa? I know its unrelated to the post but i haven't been able to find anything helpful on this. Traveling to Mauritius, feb 12 with my gf, South African Airlines Business class, there's a 19 hrs stop over on the way back and it would be too long to spend in the transit hotel. Its too late to apply for a visa because it takes forever to receive a decision. Has anyone ever been lucky to talk their way into being allowed into the country for a couple hours? I have visited the country in the past 2013 and i didn't violate their visa terms. Thanks

Hello house, I just tried to track my application using my visa application ref number and dob, but it showed no record found. Before now, it used to show that my application has been received and is under assessment at the South African high commission, Lagos.

Am confused. Has anyone experienced this?

Check the DOB entry you entered

PLEASE HOUSE, IF MY FLIGHT WAS DELAYED FOR 15 MINS, AND I WAS TOLD, WILL ANOTHER REPRINT BE SENT TO ME OR I WILL STILL HOLD THE ONE THAT WAS EARLIER FOR 15 MINS, PLEASE REPLY ME FAST , MY FLIGHT IS TODAY
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by dubaiboy1: 12:36pm On Jan 30, 2019
You mean another ticket ? If that is the case , you are using the initial one .. Your flight has only been delayed for 15 minutes probably because of maintenance purposes. Have a safe flight .

If you don't have a transit visa, you'll b chilling at OR tambo airport for the 19 hours. However since you r flying business class, SAA might just arrange something comfy for you if you discuss with them ahead of time. Not sure you can talk your way through.

There's a transit hotel, so staying at the airport isn't the issue. I read transit Visa isn't required if you'd be staying at the airside. I have mailed both embassies in Nigeria though. If only they had the priority service. Applying for a visa now is not feasible.

I have the same issue here. I will be travelling soon and I have 15hr layover with euthopia Airline but I called and discussed a Possible transit Visa. You should call the airline and the Embassy to seek for their Opinion

You need a visa to enter the country else you will have to enjoy the transit area grin

Usually for airlines that have sense, with long layovers, they are supposed to arrange for accommodation for you.

You can enter Ethiopia without a Visa. Is the airline offering you an hotel? They did when i used them a couple years ago and i didn't require a Visa.
