I know Jonathan gave you 13%..you deserve more...30% should be the minimum. That way every other region can have the incentive to look for their own oil.Kenya has yet to sell oil but we are doing okay.

its this way because we were raised to rely on it than make our hands dirty....

Tanzanians are just crazy.

“We should build a wall along the border with Tanzania! I think this is the best time for Kenyans to wake up on the four agendas. Promote trade and manufacturing within. #fairTradeKe ,” a Ruth (@Agribusiness 360) tweeted.

“Hostility within the East African Community is metered out to Kenyans mainly by Tanzania. Even if Tanzania is claiming to protect its citizens from better economies, there is no need of violating the rights of Kenyan citizens living in Tanzania,” wrote Victor Mochere.

Tanzania’s hardball is part of the reasons Kenya’s exports in EAC declined by 30 percent from USD 1.6 billion to USD 1.1 billion in the period 2012 to 2017 while imports have expanded by 60 percent from USD 0.4 billion to USD 0.6 billion in the same period.

You will never try building a border wall.never.You need us more than we need you.And you have no cash.

If you never knew, this is a full blown trade war.You started it,now find a way of handling this fireball from TZ.Remember, TZ has SADC.We have big boys to do business with.SADC has no starving people like those Kenyans. We have a lot of advanced economies in SADC.We exports more to SADC than in EAC.We made a huge trade surplus last year. Here in SADC there is no hypocrisy. They respect us much much more than those loud mouths of EAC.

Next time you start something, know how to end it.Mourning to international medias won't help.

Yeah,I heard of that too.Their were also concerns that giving the aerial mineral mapping tender to a foreign entity would not go in the interest of this nation.Anyway,we are in crossroads on how we can best do the mineral survey!

What makes you think that we can't trade with any nation in the SADC or any nation in Africa for that matter? The European Union and Uganda are our main trade partners. It speaks volumes if Equity Bank DRC,Uganda and Rwanda can make more profits than Equity Tz.We are going to follow where the money is. We are one of Africa's biggest investors in the continent. The trade billions between Kenya and Tz are a drop in the ocean if you look for instance how much we make from the EU or the rest of Africa!

Which year are u having your first railway tunnel? TZ had them since in the 70's. We aren't amazed at tunnels. We are focusing on speed not a mere tunnel! Pillars and tunnels are too common to us.Tazara railway in TZ has about 23 tunnels.

Man ya got no idea how many secrets the Brits got on us. The other day I was researching a certain commodity originally believed to belong to those 1920’s settlers who left for Europe. Apparently Quora an Wikipedia peeps says it’s a hoax. So the smarty pants on the internet follow suit an just like that everything is a hoax. Guess what the stuff exists. Its like today we got two versions of the same story an mostly majority of the zombies tend to follow the wrong path. The white man got huge secrets on Africa an it’s not a conspiracy

Let me enlighten you about something about the new discovered oil in Kenya. At the very first instance we were so excited after its discovery but now deep down we abhor the day it was found. The disquiet over the current oil discovery is a deep fear by every individual Kenyan that it will be the beginning of turmoil, corruption, greed, environmental degradation, conflict and incessant politicking. Oil is the root of all evil in Africa and i feel Kenya needs to avoid this oil curse. Look at what oil money is doing to the gulf arab nations, funding terrorism(Saudi Arabia, Qatar), funding regime change(Syria, Yemen).

SADC is small boy compared to COMESA. I wonder what you export to SADC - it has to be the usual beans & maize & maybe timber. In COMESA we are second only to Egypt. We are still the big boys of EAC. And soon I think we will make a deal with Ethiopia.

And beside we are really frying the big fish - Africa Free Trade Pact - and we will be in West and Central Africa soon.

You're malnourished and more food poor than us. You know why - you cannot produce anything beyond maize and beans - when you really try - you produce cashew nuts - which majority of kenyans stop producing - and went to highly yielding crops.

You were growing fast thanks to minning - Nothing more than that. The Acacias were minning more and more gold. All that seem to have gone down the drains. Last year we grew at 6.3% and I think you did 6.5% down from 7.3%. This year we will do 6.5-7% - and you'll be luckly to hit 6%.

Tanzanian and Manufacturing - that has got to be a joke. Azam millers smiley

Kazikazi:
Can a hard working man starve to death? Did you see any Tanzanian starving to death like those Kenyans from Turkana? We export tons of foods daily to your starving nation, yet u open ur dirt mouth and call us lazy? We sell thousands and thousands of grain to WFP yearly to support your hungry people, yet u call us lazy!
We are one of the five fastest growing economies in Africa, yet u don't see it as hardworking

One million units of affordable homes by 2022 looks like a reality. The government has been given the go ahead to collect 570 million US annually from public servants salary.Investors should now feel more secure to pump in cash into the project.

''Although the initial plans projected the construction of half a million houses, Mr Macharia said that local and international developers have expressed interest in putting up to one million units. It is estimated the project will to cost up to Sh1.5 trillion.

“Actually one investor has expressed interest to fund 100,000 units. The project is no longer a vision, but a reality,” Mr Macharia said.

Imagine the knock-on effect this project will have on the economy? Logistics companies, real estate developers, banks, cement and steel industries among many will have a reason to smile!

More like Matiang'i will deliver this.Him and Macharia are loyal to Uhuru,I hope they work their socks off for this project.

It's easy providing services for people who live in organised estates or homes. For city growth and easy delivery of key government services,Kenyans should embrace living in organised types of arrangements. This should be the way going forward. It's mostly in developing countries where one seeks his/her home to have power connected to it and in the process the single home would require the power distribution company twenty electric poles to reach it.This is why we are poor!

My point is on economies of scale in community neighbourhoods/estates.We can only urbanize well, when we cluster together. We need zoning of the entire country, this is a bit ambitious for us though.People need to embrace city living, zoning in the rural agricultural rich areas should be enforced to do away with the wanton land subdivision in those areas.

From the manufacturing Industry, there has really some big announcements from the steel industry.Devki actually want to eat on our steel imports bill from steel imports which range from 0.8-1 billion dollars. You cannot industrialize without the metals. If they do this, they will give other industries a huge boost, talk of our automotive industry, our spare parts manufacturing industry among many others will benefit from it.It would be the only raw industrial steel industry in Africa outside SA.We have Rabai Steel who have already opened up their industry in Kilifi,BMS a Bangladeshi company also wants to come in.

The steel industry looks like it will benefit from investments!

We should now focus on SEZ and Industrial Parks,Ethiopians are really going this way.The problem with us is our lethargic way of implementing this. The Dongo Kundu Special Economic Zone that would Transport the Mombasa Port under the model of the Dubai Port looks massive when you read it,but will it come about? I heard the first berth serving the SEZ area is already underway which should spell some good news

Best of my knowledge; it is not; it mostly upgrading the old colonial style estates like Jericho,Maringo, Park road into high rises. Slum upgrading is not part of it.The solution for slums is to give the structure holders title deed.

The private component - I think where they will be given free land - gok has acquired I think 5000 acre or more from Portland cement - for KSHS 15b - and that is the land private sector will be given - with understanding they will sell the houses cheaply on completion - less than 3M kshs.

Not that it is directly linked to it,it will help curb slum expansion.People earning as less as 15ksh will benefit from the affordable homes project, they will live as they pay rent in decent homes for 25 years.
