what if it pass travel date as planned cause hotel and flight were booked

Mine was passed, the event was November 9th last year and I submitted July last year. Yet they are still processing it. They just contacted my bank. So I am still praying for the best. Nothing is impossible. But I was to attend a program and the founder of the event invited me. He is Canadian citizen. So I don't know much abt the hotel booking because once the date of ur arrival to hotel has passed it won't valid again. So just keep praying and u can also mail the consular to know ur update status on ur application

Hello

Has anyone submitted passport for visa stamping recently after original passport request? I would like to know how long it took to be returned to the VFS centre

hi @ peaceful2016,i am trying to apply for visa for my mum to go with me to canada in june,i have pr status but i dont live in canada yet and i would like to know what type of visa you applied for your mum(family visitor or tourist),how you did the accommodation part of it(if you had to book hotel or not) and if you had to make flight reservations.
Thank you

Peaceful2016:
I submitted a tourist visa application for my parents and it got approved in about 1 week. I think it's probably due to their extensive travel history. See timeline below:

Submitted January 6
Biometrics request January 7
Biometrics done January 9
Passport request January 14

I stated I was paying for travel tickets. I have PR status but I'm still in Naija presently so I used my Nigerian account statement and stated I'll be in Canada at the time of their trip. Then I kept their budget low at 2000 CAD for both of them so it didn't seem like they wanted to use all the funds in their account for the trip.

Good morning house, please I need your opinion and advice here.
My friend and I wish to leave this country for Canada or US. I suggest we apply for a student visa as we're almost done with NYSC but he's concerned about the money involved (we're both can't afford it and no sponsor). I try to convince him we might be lucky to get a full or half scholarship but he's having non of it.

So yesterday, he took me to an agent who he claimed has successfully gotten Canada and US visa for people. On getting there, the agent said he's going to help us apply for a tourist visa which will be made legal on getting there. He said we will pay an initial amount of 70k and then 350k when the Visa is out.

Now, to my best of knowledge and then information i've gotten from this thread and the US thread. I deduce

1) it's almost impossible to be granted a visiting visa when you've no relatives or any important thing like conference or tour to do over there.

2) With no previous travel history, no landed property, strong ties at home or a fat account statement. Our chances is almost zero.

3) Also learnt that the US and Canada share travel history with each other and I am afraid if we apply for this visa and was eventually denied, won't it raise an issue when I want to apply for a student visa later.

4) I asked the agent all this questions but he replied that he has he ways around all this especially the bank statement and intent. I am afraid of this as I think he might want to forged or probably include false documents in the application.

I try reasoning with my friend but he's not convinced enough and he's hell-bent of going ahead with the agent.

Please is it advisable to go ahead with the agent or I should just apply for the student visa and be hopeful whether I could get a funding.

Thanks...

Hi all,
Please I need information / help on how to secure a visa asap. my brother is in ICU in a hospital in Ontario, and we do not have any other family member to support him.
I have a letter from the hospital and from his office HR to support the visa process.

1. What kind of visa should I apply for?
2. Would I have to go through Vfs Global?
3. What other documents do I need to add?
4. Any other information I need to know.

Please help.

Hello guys pls ur contribution will be highly appreciated ,I have a sister who want to visit her husband who just left for Canada a month ago ,what kind of visa can she apply for and can the husband who is just amasters student send invitation to the wife and note pls he was still single when he got the visa ,it was after he got his canada study permit visa he got married to my sister.what kind of visa can she apply for to go visit her husband?

Your sister should apply for a spousal open work permit- SOWP. There is an SOWP thread on Nairaland, you can visit the thread for info. Also check CIC for details on the application/eligibility requirements It does not matter that they married after her husband's visa application, you can show proof of that with the marriage certificate and also note that in your explanation letter if you wish to attach one to your application.

That invariably is the office processing your application despite giving biometrics at the Lagos VAC (not embassy please). Your application can be moved to any of their offices to handle and not necessarily the one in the country where you submitted it, it’s normal with them, no ish!

Those that applied and indicated childbirth, please did you include details of the hospital or doctor you will be using in your application. I applied January 6th and started tourism. Indicated childbirth in the letter of explanation. My application was refused. Reason is purpose of visit and personal and financial asset. I applied with my mum, hubby and my self. Hubby for two weeks, myself and my mum for two months. Hubby is the primary applicant. He has a valid us visa. My mum has a valid us visa too. My us visa recently expired. We put in documents of all our properties. We had seven thousand euro in hubby account balance. Should I reapply. What else can I add that hasn't been added already. Should I do a budget sheet. I don't know what else they want. We also added hubby pension statement that had about 13 million naira in it. What is wrong with our purpose of visit. Is childbirth tourism not a valid reason to travel?. Is 7 thousand euro too small. Please help look into this

That is just 2.8 Million Naira and some fractions. Didn't you submit any other statement of account apart from this?
This amount is too small for the three of you.

I'm also guessing this might be the reason for the denial. Can we transfer more funds to the acvount. Would it raise an eyebrow? The only other statement we submitted is my hubby pension statement.

@aye88, That amount is small for 3 people let along childbirth inclusive. Depending on how soon you want to re-apply, what I would suggest is provide account statement(Bank B) with extra funds from a different bank account along with the initial statement from Bank A if the funds has been in there before the visa app was refused. But if it has not been in Bank B before the refusal and you just want to arrange for it one way or the other, I would suggest you make the arrangement into the account(Bank B), put it in a fixed deposit of say like 6months. Then use only the Fixed deposit certificate from that bank B, with account statement of bank A(the bank statement you submitted initially) with some topping if possible(no unusual lump sum though) and re-apply. You can terminate the FD some weeks after submission, but to be on the safe side, you may leave the fixed deposit till you get result of your application. A budget sheet will help both you and the Visa Officer.

You MAY also choose to apply alone for now without hubby and mum. Either ways, you need to demonstrate some more financial strength.

This is the wrong thread for you. This is where you should be https://www.nairaland.com/1346880/giving-birth-canada

Read read and read and relate with other mums expecting.

Hope this helps, good luck.
