AsomArchitectNG:
The first storey building in Nigeria located in Badagry, Lagos State, recorded 13,609 visitors in 2018, Mr Hodonu Daniel, the officer in charge of the building, told newsmen on Wednesday.

Daniel said that the number of tourists that visited the 172-year-old structure was higher than the 9,009 recorded in 2017. Reports have it that the foundation of the building was laid in 1842 and was completed in 1845.

“We recorded more tourists toward the end of the year when there were different festivals organised by people and the Local Government Authority attracted tourists to the site.

“Around August, we celebrated Coconut festival and many tourists that came for the event visited the site. Also during Diaspora festival, many foreigners came to the site.

“These were just the reasons why the site recorded high number of tourists in 2018.

“I’m sure that the patronage would be higher this year if the Federal Government will complete the reconstruction of the Lagos- Badagry Expressway which is discouraging tourists from visiting the site.

“The major challenge that we face is the deplorable state of the road, as this discourages tourists from coming to the various historic sites in the city,’’ Daniel said.

He reiterated the call on the state government and private companies to assist in giving the structure a facelift.

According to him, only the Anglican Church is carrying out the task for now.

Please read through

As of the year 2000, Lekki was sold for less than 1m a plot. Today, 2019, in less than 20 years you can get it for 100m and above for a plot. If you bought a plot in your child's name, by now he's is she will be a millionaire for an investment less than 1m.

Lekki is mainly residential with several relaxation beaches as well as companies inside it. it is however becoming commercialized in nature.

But we now have Ibeju-lekki, projected to become the new Miami and Dubai of Africa. It is fully commercialized and residential and well planned out with Seaport, Airport, Beach resorts, FTZ, Refinery, Golf Courses amongst other features.
Presently you can still get a full plot for 600k up to 5m and above. You can also get one plot for your male or female child on outright or installment payment.

It has been projected that lands at Ibeju-lekki will appreciate by 500% in 5 years. This means that In 20 years, by 2039, a plot of land at Ibeju-lekki will be worth 100m.
By that time, most of us will be 50-70years but our children will be 20-30years, so why not do them and their children this huge favor. Imagine what 200m will mean to each of them by then.. And best of all you're not buying from Omonile, so you can sleep easy and be assured you made the right decision, as you're buying from estates...

Imagine the possibilities, just imagine it, I'm sure you'd come to the right conclusion... As always we are just a call away. ⤵️⤵️⤵️

The picture bellow is of a high building over 300 years old in katsina State, northern Nigeria. since it was not built by the missionaries, its not worth mentioning.

The title would have been first missionaries high building in Nigeria.
You have proof that it's over 300 years?
Or is your tribalism speaking?

When did oyinbo man reach the northern part of the country? We are even talking of a Storey building not raffia hut or a mud hut.

That’s the problem. Oyingbo is your God. There were Storey buildings in Kano , Katsina and other cities in the Northern empires hundreds of years before the Oyingbo invasion.

africans built more sophisticated sttructures before the coming of the white men. but most if not all of them were destroyed from memory and history ; great walls of benin a classical example.. its quite painfull that this building is peddled as the first storey building in nigeria and we'v all grown to buy the story...

Stop being insultive and arrogant without basis. Africans didn't have solution for Storey buildings before the invasion of the whites. That is why you are a failure, you won't learn.

Pardon me bro but I think if you hadn't referred to him as a failure your comment would have been somewhat okay, I thought change starts with me and you, you did what you criticised him for. Don't come at me bro, before you start to think I am taking sides please I am not.
