Their are some people who always boast of having the highest numbers of Billionaires and Millionaires but their IGR is always competing with that of war ravaged NE. I don't seems to understand why these states will be allegedly populated by this wealthy individuals while the igr of these states needs an electronic microscope to be visible.

Isn't that strange though? Means their state governments aren't doing enough to raise enough money from within to stand alone.

Who tells you IGR doesn't equal development, IGR is the profit of public enterprises, and it determines the availablility of funds for capital and human development in the states.
Are you telling me that these so called billionaires doesn't pay taxes? Are they operating illegal businesses that are not taxable?
Your population hypothesis is also faulty, there are several nations with less population than Nigeria doing a igr 100x that of Nigeria, or is Ondo state (5+ billion igr) more populated than imo or Enugu with less igr? IGR is simply the reflection of the economic development of a state.

ur population hypothesis is faulty , ur bring other nations into this when it is quite clear why other nations are the way they are

IGR in Nigeria are as a result of so many things , population is a factor , taxing systems are a factor , The federal government is also a factor marginalization of projects to SW and north thereby bringing investors and taxes is also a factor

I think Lagos has not done so well in terms of their IGR collection. The figure is still on the low side to me. It's sad that NYPD budget is bigger than Lagos state budget, the 5th largest economy in Africa. We should be doing better, we should have done better Ambode angry

Are you also going to fault the fact that Ondo state with less Population is doing better in igr compared to Imo, Enugu etc with more populations?

We've heard people from across the Niger boast of Anambra housing the largest number of billionaires and millionaires and Nnewi men being walking banks...lol. My question is if this empty chest beating is true, then why the low igr? Are this billionaires engaged in illegal businesses that can't be taxed?

You can't claim to have the highest number of wealthy individuals and investors on one hand and also claim that the fg is diverting investors from the SE, That will either be a case of hypocrisy or bipolar disorder.

Lie! Population never determines igr, people do.
What's the population of Dubai?
Going by your postulation, Kano should come 1st or 2nd.
The reality is : Easterners don't like paying tax. They claim to make so much money. Which naturally should yield more tax, but reverse is the case there.

South East can never generate igr more than the north East even though the latter has big but poor population while the former has small, stingy and akagumic population.
Haven't you seen that except and unless a force and punishment is attached, an average Ibo no dey willingly sweep beyond him shop for market place. Thats the reason where any market where we have them sizeable is always dirty. Negative Republicans!

Anambra having the most billionaires does not mean that all their businesses are in Anambra , it simply means they come from there the thing about Igbo people is they have investments all over the country and end up paying taxes and generating revenues in other zones

and as for ondo state u just compared the revenue for Q3 of 2018 not overall revenue

again the SE has been marginalised in projects and infrastructure even the FG admitted to the infrastructural deficit in the SE and as such a lot of Igbos have investments outside the east , a that's why a lot of Igbos are angry ,that's why there's a clamour for biafra, restructuring ,Igbo presidency , that's why we dislike Buhari, he's sinking billions in the north and building railways in the west but nothing in the east .We just want something that would enable the SE to grow, its not just about the SE , other states too should be giving chances to develop, Lagos alone has more IGR than 30 states combined , does that make sense? is Lagos the only state in Nigeria?

so if any state has low IGR it's not the people's fault but the government fault ,it's not and has never been the duty of the people to generate IGR , if the FG wants more IGR in the SE they should put in measures to generate it

The present flooding of the east with the most useless and incompetent foools in uniform under the guise of a military operation is not helping businesses in the east to scale up. This drives out people coming to the east for business to other parts of the country thereby depleting the business transaction economy of the east .

Eastern states will also do better if they embark on revenue generation drives by encouraging start ups and funding them partially in return for equity.

The east that was once the fastest growing economy in the 60s is now lagging behind states that were no where in the 60s all thanks lack of interest and enthusiasm on the side of government
