I was offer a tokunbo Toyota corolla 2006 on hire purchase deal for 3.5million on a 35k weekly delivery for 2years.
As a starter is this achievable or not?
Thanks in advance as I await ur response(s).

Did you notice how I did not consider his opinion and never responded to him? Even when I mentioned traffic and damages to car, he still wanted to argue.

I have really decided to be ignoring animals and only be making meaningful contributions to this thread.

For people that want to learn, a driver gave me the list below and told me never to there!!! I test run some of them
Drivers that want to learn should learn!

The inexhaustible list is;
Never Ever go to Oyingbo, Apapa, Ejigbo, Ayobo, Badagry, Ojoo, Mile 2, Abule Ojoo, Abule Adoo, Ishaga, Isheri, Epe, Lakowe

Save this on your phone. I test run some of them. If its not extremely bad roads, its heavy traffic, armed robbers etc. Thank me later.

As a starter, you will borrow for the first two months to meet that 35k weekly target.
Now, considering you are on hire purchase, 35k/week is too much unless you are not the one handling repairs. 35k/week for two years. 3.5 million. My friend, you are heading downwards
Understood sir
Thanks for ur kindly advise

what is quartz 7000?

Quartz 7000 is 15w50 engine oil, it is also semi synthetic meaning part mineral part synthetic. Research has shown that it is usually a not more than
30per-70per mix (30per synthetic) sadly you have used the wrong grade of oil over extended mileages and your piston rings and valve stem seals have paid the price. Engine will require an overhaul with original parts. I am almost certain engine has developed sludge also.

[/quote

Oh, like how much will be the cost of overhauling the engine

I consider 3 things before deciding if I'll be going to a place or not.
1. Security:
2. Traffic
3. Possibility of getting a request from that place.

I remember folks that used to say experience is overrated. Where are they now? The market is tedious now, but I still net 90k to 110k+ every week. Net, not gross

We still dey jare bro. And we still believe it's overrated based on the context of discuss at that time.

Remember the experience discussion came about at that time when car owner's looking for drivers where asking for minimum 6 months experience on uber/taxify before giving their car out.

Why I argued it was overrated then was that 6 months driving on e hailing does not guarantee driver will make good money or remit consistently. I was of the opinion that they should give a chance to New drivers too.
This was also based on the fact that I just started driving at that point without prior ehailing experience and I was making good money. I was of the opinion that if you have been driving for a while in lagos, know how to use Google maps and have a general idea of residential/commercial areas, it will go a long way in positioning without having prior experience in ehailing

Even by reading this thread, you'll see people that have been driving for long on this platform without no single customer service skills.

Don't get me wrong, experience on ehailing matters, it's just overrated as a major criteria to use to give a driver a car.
There are people with more ehailing experience than you and not making as much as you are and vice versa.
It's takes more than the length of time you've been in the platform to make consistent money

The no 3 is very key. I remember I once complained here about Apapa. Ikorodu had warned me about coming in the morning but I didn't heed this morning. I was thinking if I rejected the trip at 5:48am (waited for rider for about 10mins), I might not get any trip to the Island by that time being a Monday (l was at Jakande, Isolo).

Seems asking for destination on the phone in the morning isn't a bad idea after all.

I will never again go to Ikorodu in the morning except it's from Ajah axis that I know the fare/distance will compensate for time loss.

its very achievable if:
1. You enjoy driving
2. You enjoy driving long distances
3.You know 80% of Lagos roads without a map
4. You obey traffic signs, rules and regulations
5. You have good customer skills.
6. You don't complain unnecessarily.

Higher purchase and rentals is the same thing. The difference is commitment to just one car. It's like marriage.

I know some might say test the waters first, but what water are you testing? Is it not the same 35k weekly rental is paying too? I will only advise you find a way to beat the price down, but if not, 35k is basically 5k daily. All you need to do is save 5k every day after fueling for the next 730 days. Make sure car owners money is complete first, before you start your own hustle. Nothing is impossible. Just tactics.

So, you have been hearing of how Uber drivers make 150k weekly and as the economy tight, you thought of how you can key in and make extra bucks. So you live at Gbagada and work at VI, you drive to your office by 6:30am and driver picks it up and returns it either at VI for you to come back with or at your house at Gbagada after you joined a colleague back home. Sound and fine.

But the model of the business shows that drivers make most money from 5am to 10am and from 4pm to 10pm. Are you aware that VI is an office environment and there are practically no requests from there by 6:30am in the morning. So your would be driver will transport himself to VI in the morning, pick your car and drive to Lekki area, pay toll gate to pick a rider. In the evening, he picks up a rider going to Ajah or Egbeda by 5pm, do you know how long that trip will last before he returns your car and at how much weekly returns?
Be ready for stories, defaults, and above all the aging of your car in a very short while. You don't need to be angry at the comments, your model will not favour any driver. Remember he too has obligations.

Free advise, hold your car or look for weekend drivers only, so that you can go to work on weekdays with your car. Alternatively give your car out on full rental and collect 30/35k weekly and use Uber/Taxify in the mornings.
You are sound upstairs

Got a late night trip to VI and I was already too tired to drive home so I slept in the car. Woke up around 4:00am and switched on my app and after like 20mins I got a request.
Me: Good morning Sir, You requested taxify.....
Rider: yes, pls come to ..... I'm going to the airport.
Me: okay, I'll be there right away.
Rider: when you get here, you'd have to walk around and wash your face with water cos I know you're sleeping from your voice.
Me: I have been awake for a while but ok till I come.
I got to pick up and rider was like Oga oya come let's pace around cos I know you can't cheat nature and dis your work is not easy. I walked around then washed my face with water, rider also got gum and engaged me in conversation till we got to destination. If you ask me I'd say this rider had an encounter with a driver who was sleeping while driving.

That's a smart and educated rider
