tesppidd: I'm only interested in IdreamOfUnicorn's answer to this question. --- While people feel there is an ulterior motive behind TM due to its timing, I personally don't think it can scale and be sustained. Let's see what happens to TM in 2 years time if APC wins the elections. |

Earthbound: This is stupid. How can you say "10k would go a long, long way"? How do you imagine poor people to be? That the moment you give them 10k, they'd invest it in a business? That's a stupid thought. Won't they offset previous loans they may have taken? Won't they feed themselves? Pay common bills? you may argue that they'd pay bills after the 10k business comes to fruition, but let's be honest, what can 10k really do? Think. |

allisso: What you're telling us is that Tradamoni is the only policy of this government lifting ppl out of poverty? Or it's the only one you, are aware of? What about. The Home Grown School feeding program, Anchor Borrowers program, Fertilizer intervention, Rice farmers intervention? What the government is doing is alleviating the poverty of ppl in different stages |

SoNature: Do you understand how loans work, even in microfinance banks where you get collateral free loans, you start small as low as 50k in some cases depending on your trade. This scheme is aimed at petty traders, it is interest free and no collateral, therefore there is a risk of it not being returned but when it is you get a higher value, it's a reward system and if they pay back early enough I'm sure there are other benefits. And for those saying 10k is chump change, when last did you give someone 10k and not feel it. |

Yet, some of you will study his itinerary to go collect the 10K. You guys have no idea! It is still better that something gets to the common man directly than in the bank account of politicians. Can you imagine if these monies were given to local politicians to distribute...it will be largely looted and few will be given to loyal party members. |
