I think the MJTF should also involve countries like Mali, Benin, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt and others. The sahara is porous and harbors all manner of murderous elements. Its time to finish them from all fronts. Good thread also |

bidex111:ZAMFARA KILLING: ARE THESE KILLERS INVISIBLE AND STRONGER THAN OUR TROOP But who these gunmen? Are they that powerful that they can't be curtailed? What are the security agencies doing? What is the President doing? Isn't this becoming too much? People are now been killed on a daily basis and it now very normal, it no longer a news that people are been kidnapped frequently. Money ritual is the order of day in the South, Boko Haram and killer men in North. But what exactly is wrong with out country, Nigeria? Where exactly did we got it wrong? Who precisely did our forefathers offended? Beside why are these killers and kidnappers so ruthless, heartless and so inhumane? What is community doing to curb this menace? 2 Likes |

cutievik:The thing is most security agencies wait until they are told to do their jobs. We fold our arms until things go bad, then rush to make sure it doesn't get rotten. Am yet to understand what everyone was looking at before & during this absurdity Look at the sham they have as political leaders [Senator who should be raising hell in NASS for his state]. Just annoying to be Nigerian at times |
Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Sizzorkay: 6:55pm On Feb 05, 2019 |
That's because Nigeria is under-policed , the young can't get jobs, citizens themselves are responsible for the state of things, you don't sit and wait for a country to get better, you get involved and make demands, non-stop, only then will things get better. If no one is pressuring those in leadership for produce result for the people, then they won't work hard for you. Years ago in Akure, along Danjuma road by Oyemekun grammar school, a female ( homeless) died by the side of that busy road, her rotten corpse was left there for more than a week, yet no one did anything about it, is that normal? In a state capital, to have a corpse left on the side of the road for over a week? No road, people scream up Nepa when power comes on, you hold celebrations for building a 2km road and cut ribbons, lol, and you wonder why things aren't good. And there are major crimes because the young don't have any support system from the Government, what are they supposed to do? Not saying crime is the answer, but it's the tempting alternative when you don't have a job and need to survive, and you know the police are useless and likely won't get caught. We have people committing rape, record it and showing their faces and put those videos online, without any repercussion. A powerful man will slap a cop, the cop will apologize afterwards. Where the rich can tell the police to arrest the poor, without the officer using better judgment to determine who is right or wrong, they only do as they are told, and the list goes on and on. The cure to all these, is to participate, let the leaders fear your reaction to bad governance ,but if the majority sit and fold their hands, saying "Let's leave things to God", i can assure you, another 100 yrs from now, nothing will change. Gotta get involved and ask questions, and the role of the media is so critical in this. We as a people, need psychological correction. Wasn't there a Governor who built a statue of Jacob Zuma not long ago? Where were the hearings about this, did the people demand explanations for it? Who paid for it etc. Nothing happened if i recall correctly. We just gotta change the way we think, we are at the very bottom of things, and seem complacent to stay there, without thinking we need to upgrade our society and how things are done. Look at the Unity schools, no windows in the classrooms, kids are thrown onto field to cut grass, walking 25mins to fetch water from a stream and then put that bucket of water on your head and walk back to hostel and shower, etc, these things i went thru in high school, imagine such madness. We are fvked, for real Education, Activism and power of the media. Right there is the cure 3 Likes |

Sizzorkay:all these you said has been said countless times years back with little or no impact and change. I guess nothing we say can change anything. Na to just accept reality and take things as one sees it while striving and hustling to survive and make life better. and also enjoy as much as we can because this life isn't two. |
Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Sizzorkay: 7:23pm On Feb 05, 2019 |
Yep, I've said it many times in the past too. But right there, is the exact mentality i was talking about lol, you said "To accept reality" That is, stay as we are , but that's the wrong mentality, that thinking is why we are stuck in the same situation for over half a century or more Accepting a failed system as it is won't lead to progress, don't sit and accept it brother, do your part. krattoss: 2 Likes |

Sizzorkay:lol brother, am more of a realist than a fantasy type. We are product of our environments.we can't just change overnight. It's just the way it is and we got no option than to accept it because we can't change it. We have to just get used to it and develop thick skin to overpower and come out stronger. Every nation has its ups and downs. As for me I like the country as it is. |

PRESS RELEASE SAHARA REPORTERS LIED ON BHT CAPTURE OF FIVE ADAMAWA TOWNS The attention of Theatre Command Operation LAFIYA DOLE has been drawn to a misleading news story on Sahara Reporters website, posted on 4th February 2019, alleging that Boko Haram terrorists have taken over four towns in Adamawa State. This is not true. Contrary to Sahara Reporters' claims in that online story, the Headquarters Theatre Command wishes to inform the general public that the said publication is untrue and a far cry from the reality on ground in Adamawa state. Categorically, no town in Adamawa, Borno or Yobe state is under the control of the insurgents. Unfortunately ,the alarming publication has generated undue panic amongst the general public and therefore needs to be addressed. In straightening the records, troops were alerted to an attack on Shuwa by Boko Haram terrorists who had infiltrated the village through Karchinga on a looting mission, to which the troops of 143 Battalion swiftly responded by moblising themselves to Shuwa village, where they fiercely engaged the insurgents in combat and successfully repelled the attack and curtailed the incursion. The troops, who recovered one Hand Grenade and 6 rounds of Anti Aircraft ammunition after the encounter are currently holding grounds in Shuwa village, while some elements of the Battalion are exploiting further in pursuit of the fleeing insurgents. Sadly, before the arrival of troops to the location, the insurgents had killed 3 persons, looted and torched a shop, a health care centre and a local market. It is pertinent to further inform that calm has been restored in Shuwa village, while Madagali, Michika, Gulak and Baza towns remain peaceful and firmly under control of the troops. Our hearts go out in deep sympathy to those who fell during the attack and those who have been affected in one way or the other by the incident. We however urge Sahara Reporters to desist from its alarming and sensationalized reportage to avoid panic. Please disseminate this information to the general public through your medium. Thank you for your kind cooperation. ONYEMA NWACHUKWU Colonel Deputy Director Public Relations Theatre Command Operation LAFIYA DOLE 5 February 2018 |

Geronimoe:Oh dear. We can't even protect ourselves! I don't believe its BH tho, there are some factors I consider. If those terrorists want to attack our rear it would be at Gombe. I have been watching the axis of banditry in the NW [Zamfara,NE Katsina and Sokoto]. The borders with Niger are just too unattended. The attended ones are riddled with self serving Immigration idiots. The illegal gold rink in Zamfara used to/currently serve as a raison d'être for banditry. The food we keep under our beds are the reasons for our household pests. If you don't do your jobs without prejudice it comes back to hurt you no matter how long it takes 5 Likes |

bidex111:In 2017 we saw the Army having short sensible documentaries on NTA. In the process debunking lies I held true [e.g the detention centre at Maimalari], fast forward 2yrs down the line all we see is essays and articles. Thing is the Army hasn't realised or is shying away from the fact that public confidence in its words isn't strong and it can't be raised by press briefings alone. If there was a video about the places they mentioned, showing normal activities naturally everyone will turn against Sahara Reporters CT-COIN thrives on the soil of Public perception |

Odunayaw: My earlier argument that there is a #BokoHaram component in the crisis in Zamfara is reinforced by the modus operandi of the armed gangs, esp how they execute some of their victims. No doubt, there is a terrorism component, there is also the cattle rustling component, ethnic etc.-Ahmed Salkida |

krattoss:This is pitiful to say the least. If you've not lost a whole family to irritant clashes you don't know where it hurts yet In your reasoning how does natural disasters connect with what's going on here. Is the US now a benchmark for common sense? What kind of person is "okay" with chaos. Even teenagers would be chided for such stupid reasoning. Is it too much to ask that we don't become animals? bidex111:Depends on how you're reading it. Karma has no other translation. Now answer, are you "enjoying Nigeria as it is"? Am over reacting to what? That someone wishes Nigeria to continue with the wanton killings, kidnappings etc? Someone wishes I continue praying through a 10hr journey to Minna and more prayers when I am going to Edo? That's what you're defending? You are content that brides are being stolen from their grooms and families being torn apart by illiterate elements? Its a simple fact of life, if you escape it sooner or later someone you know or someone you know that knows someone will be on the receiving end. I buried my head in the sand and was not playing God when a distant cousin's family of 6 were wiped out. I was not worried when my colleague had to travel for his traditionals and came back in a body bag Well-done 2 Likes |
