You're shameless. You are pretending not to understand the difference btw taxes and levies.

Lagos collect mere 200M(2015) and 120M(2016) from non-taxes. Nairobi which is not allowed to levy taxes collect about the same.

Kenya counties are allowed to collect levies & fees - NOT a single tax - on 17 functions - mainly parking fees,land rates, single business permits and such kind of revenues streams.

Now when it comes to taxes - KRA - the only tax collecting body in Kenya - collects 15B dollars - majority of those taxes are from Nairobi.

The national gov collects another 4-5B dollars from levies - that counties do not collect - court fines, gov agencies levies & fees, services charges on gov services like passport fees etc. These are called Appropriation in Aid (AIA) - because they are not expected to surrender the money to treasury's consolidated account( KRA/IRS for Nigeria) - but to offset with their budgetary allocation - to meet their administrative/operation expense.

And that in Kenya makes a total of 20B dollars of revenue - if you add Counties levies & fees, KRA taxes, and AIA.

Nigeria is struggling to get there when you combine Federal and all the 36 states - and add Oil

And that is why Kenya combined budgets is around 33-35B and Nigeria around 41B.

Those are very stubborn facts. You cannot twist them.

Kenyan troops who took part in a joint training on counter terrorism, disaster and emergency response in Tanzania will return home on Sunday.

The group of 60 comprised officers drawn from the KDF, police and prison departments who joined their counterparts from the EAC member states in a two-week Command Post Exercise training in Dar es Salaam.

The skills exchange programme was attended by more than 300 security officers from five countries of Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda.

The exercise, code-named Ushirikiano Imara 2017, was held at the Tanzania People’s Defence Forces Peace Training Centre in Dar es Salaam from December 4.

The exercise has been held annually since 2011 and is organized on a ratational basis among the EAC partner states.

It is based on disater management, peace support operations and counter-terrorism and piracy.

The Kenyan contingent was led by KDF chief of training Brigadier Charles Kang’ethe and CPX deputy director Brigadier Godfrey Buluma.
