Ask yourself why the big recording companies are not there in Nigeria, but they are all in SA, there is UNIVERSAL MUSIC, SONY MUSIC, EMI in south africa. Do you have music stores in Nigeria? Does wizkid/davido know How many records they sell whenever they release an album? The answer is a big "NO". But in SA, you would hear Cassper or AKA saying he has reached gold or platinum, but you would hardly hear a Nigerian artist saying he has reached Platinum or gold. Whereas SA muscians are making millions in CD's sales. In south africa, everytime cassper nyovest's song gets played on TV or radio, he gets paid for that by the radio/tv channel. It is called "Royalties". Does that happen in nigeria? a big "NO". Radio and TV stations pay for playing artist music, its not for free.
