False...........Kenya currently has 10 complete skyscrapers. All of them are owned by Kenyans. Nigeria has 6 complete skyscrapers, 1 of them are foreign owned (Intercontinental Hotel)

yes they have to address their immigration issues but the long term solution would be to assist fellow SADC nations like zimbabwe, mozambique etc so their economies would be buoyant enough to encourage their citizens to stay in their respective countries and not going to SA to constitute a nuisance.

You see this is how the cookie crumbled. Tanzania's Nyerere nationalized or attempted to nationalized foreign companies in his communist quest of Ujamaa - the private sector basically overnight disappeared - or thriving companies soon became moribund as parastals.

Tanzania went bankrupt exactly 20yrs later. Nyerere resigned and got into his bicycle - the only earthly possession he had and admitted he had failed.

Now kenya went the opposite direction. We built local capacity first. And when blacks were ready - we asked foreign companies to localize ownership. Kenya gov ordered foreign companies in 1980s to sell 1/3 of it's shareholding to kenya.British-American in 1984s sold 33% of it shareholding to Local black shareholders. Slowly local black shareholding has increased to now nearly 90% - majority owned by black kenyans. And eventually the Britam parent company completely dissociated with local company - the named got changed from British-American to Britam.

Britam Kenya - then expanded to Tanzania (after you learnt the bitter lessons), Uganda, South Sudan, Rwanda,Malawi, and Mozambique.

That story is replicated in many kenya companies. Kenyans studiously understudying the British and American coorporates - taking over -and expanding.

Now Kenya companies are building skyscrappers, hotels, investing abroad and name it - and paying taxes. It called PRIVATE SECTOR.Now Tanzanaia - poor Tanzania - you gov still has to build Skyscrappers - instead of funding health or education. Kenya was there in 1970s..
