Hello Experts in the house, Please i need your inputs and suggestions. We currently have an on going family project in the Oko-afo axis of BADAGRY. We've just finished moulding BRICKS for fence and to start the building proper, however there is a slight issue here as the Land-owners "OMONILE" are requesting for an INSANE fee of 300k , 150 for fence and 150 for Building foundation. I find this very absurd and wicked on their PART, and if its left to me, i won't cough out that outrageous sum of money. Please i need your advice and suggestions on how to tackle this issue, it's very important to me. Thanks and GOD bless.

Lol, I understand how you feel but for you to have peace before / during construction of your building, try and negotiate a downward review of what they are demanding, if possible meet with the head of the omoniles and reach a peaceful compromise with them or else, they will frustrate you or your workers on that site, omoniles are illegal but enforcing their illegality in Nigeria is a herculean task, look for a middle ground with them, give them something little and continue your project to avoid endless wahala with them

You will need to pay if you want peace of mind, or unless you have connection to law enforcement.

If you choose to pay, negotiation is allowed and try to be as aggressive as possible,
Secondly, pay only to their boss, find out who the boss of the area is and pay to him, also try to get a receipt, cos if you dont do that, another group of omoonile will come feigning ignorance about the previous set.

Just take things easy with them, I know this area very well, that is why the place is not developing fast as it should be, even the so called BALE there do go around at time to ask OWO MI DAA. If you negotiate very well with them they can take 200k for both fence and foundation.
