Al Shabaab will never leave us alone as I said earlier! Here's an update of the war not in the public domain-a revenge bombing planned a week later on the first Sunday after the D2 attack. A large bomb was buried in the carpark of Moyale Raha bus company on 10th street in Eastleigh, the Somali enclave;though the company is based in an area of mainly Boranas and Burjis. The watchman responsible tipped off the cops who found it buried a foot or so down in the yard, raising questions as to HOW it happened without his knowledge. The fact he's not been seen since raises even more questions. Anyway a bomb disposal truck carted it away after evacuating the immediate surroundings and I'm told it was at least 20 kg and shook the vehicle when it went it off still on the scene. The same day a number of passive detection units were placed around Eastleigh. My understanding of these units isn't perfect: Weighing at least 60 kg and buried up to 3 feet they detect explosive vapour and send a signal to a nearby interdiction unit. One was planted outside the Airbase barely a km from the 10th street abortive bombing. A KPLC truck like this rolled up mid Monday morning with a hydraulic digger and dug down 3 feet into the pavement outside the base into which was placed the BDU. A few geniuses,of which there are not a few in Eastleigh, noticed the large oblong dull grey steel device had antennas and occasionally blinking lights and concluded it possesses inherent value. After dark they returned,6 in number and were seen again early morning-not exactly decapitated but with heads totally destroyed . Blood, brains;and bone littered the scene like it was sprayed from a hose. My info has it an on base Barret sniper pulled the plug on them. How many BDUs are in place in Eastleigh and sensitive Nairobi sites,I can't say.

Even in boreholes, you should be smart in drilling them! “To sustain the few existing boreholes you have to limit their number per area. One of the licensing condition is to limit the distance from one borehole to another to 800 metres so that we do not have dead boreholes because most firms compete for supply from the same sources,” https://www.businessdailyafrica.com/news/counties/Ministry-stops-drilling-boreholes-in-Nairobi/4003142-4939908-3n4jb1/index.html Just30: 2 Likes |

Yes Ghana mobile money & commerce is on steroids. Nigeria entrenched federal gov screwed it up by denying telcoms the license to do it and allowing banks to drive it. Banks that already make enough money from forex arbitrage to even care to innovate. I mean those Nigerian banks buy dollars from CBN at 305 - and sells it to Nigerians at 365 - or even black market for 400 - crazy returns. And that is just one income stream. Why would Nigerian banks innovate. They simply killed mobile money in Nigeria. Anyway Ghana Mobile Money (P2P) need to move to Mobile Commerce like Kenya. In Uganda there is mobile money that is still version 1.0 - merely person to person sending of money. In Kenya it's really on 2.0 - business to business, person to business or name it - p2p is now a small component. Tanzania is doing great. Rwanda is still at infancy. vaxx: 3 Likes |

Nairobi was the only African city to appear on their shortlist of 21 hubs throughout the world for 2015. Intelligent Community Forum co-founder Robert Bell says: "We see a strong foundation being put into place [in Nairobi]: sensible, pro-growth government policy, a more diversified economy, and an innovation ecosystem of startups, international companies and universities. "Nairobi certainly has the opportunity to build an exciting future for its citizens, businesses and institutions." https://edition.cnn.com/2015/02/10/africa/nairobi-africa-intelligent-city/index.html stanliwise: |

rvp2018:While, This on its own will have provide a lot of informal and formal jobs in nigeria. Nigeria ineffective policy kills the buisness. banks are even collapsing with their lots of savings with central banks. in Ghana now, there is huge competition between telecoms industry and the banking sector. each fighting for their own share of the market. in all honesty, it has been healthy for the economy. |

It will. Kenya has more than 200,000 mobile money agents - just imagine those jobs didn't exist about 10yrs ago. Ghana is on the right track - Kenya really need to learn from Ghanians on many things - I admire your progressive politics and policy making. Nigeria - is hopeless. The federal gov that rans the show is mostly thuggish. Maybe they need real federalism. vaxx: 3 Likes |

That is sad. Africans need to embrace policy experimentation. Esp the regulators. Otherwise we will take 200yrs to develop with old traditional tried and tested models. We need to try new ideas that can leapfrog us into developed world. I work mostly with mobile money - and I can tell you Kenya M-pesa is incredibly busy. I think Visa & Master globally do like 60B transactions a year - and Kenya's M-pesa last year was doing 2 billion transactions - and the numbers keep growing. Honestly plastic cards are so last decade.... In the payments systems I oversee - we receive a payment every second - and so having incredibly reliable system is so critical. Globally mobile payments should be well on it's way to 10 billion transactions per year - and pretty soon - Visa, MasterCards and China UnionPay will have to step aside - as 3rd world countries show them the way - by running really crazily busy payments systems. OMFG! Its 2019 and black people are using wiki for our history!? Fyi,we debunked that Congo migration story months ago. Its a successful attempt to separate Bantus from ancient Egypt,Nubia,Meroe and Kush. We established Africans were worldwide from the OOA of 100 kya and the second migration that reached Asia and the Pacific 60 kya. The Saudi peninsula from Yemen,Jordan,Israel as far as N Turkey were inextricably as black as Africa as recently as 200 years ago. They're still around! These are some of the 1.5 mn black Iraqis, the original house of Saud royals and their father;Al Saud Abdul Rahman Faisal in the late 1800s. Also many Bantus have myths of a migration from the North and/or Middle East. History isn't only deliberately distorted but misunderstood-we assume it to be much more linear, concrete and simple than any human processes can ever be. Saffas, heard of this lost city? Now the same technology which located those Mayan cities has been used to rediscover a southern African city that was occupied from the 15th century until about 200 years ago. This technology, called LiDAR, was used to “redraw” the remains of the city, along the lower western slopes of the Suikerbosrand hills near Johannesburg.https://qz.com/africa/1230830/a-lost-city-in-southern-africa-of-tswana-speakers-discovered-with-laser-technology/ Adams calendar is wayyyyy older at least 75 kya to 200 kya in SA and parts of Moz. Its said to be the oldest megalithic ruin anywhere! There are even reports of ancient canals in Botswana and Namibia raising implications that force a complete rewriting of everything we thought we knew. It can be clearly viewed unaided from the International Space Station at roughly 230 miles up, which cannot be said for any other non natural feature on Earth. The entire complex covers an area about equal in size to the State of Arizona in the USA.https://ancientmistery.weebly.com/kalahari-desert.html Pls,lets stop repeating fake histories invented by Anglo Zionists to control us!! And,pls Saffas hold your fire on ednited, especially lionessza6-she's not the enemy.

How can small countries with no economic viability, tiny IGR, little industries, little resources have such high debts ? Ghana’s $18 billion external debt could later affect its macroeconomic stability (Ecofin Agency) - At end November 2018, Ghana’s external debt was $18 billion, figures recently published by the central bank reveal. Even though the debt-to-GDP ratio has slightly decreased to 28.9% against 29.3% at the end of 2017, there are worrying indicators. Despite a rise of the trade balance to $1.7 billion in December 2018, the country’s external debt was 10 times higher than net exports. At the same time, the country’s external position worsened slightly. The gross international reserves at end December 2018 was $7 billion and it could just cover 3.7 months of imports (despite the support of the trade balance by the oil sector that does not create many jobs or inclusive direct growth) while in December 2017, it was $7.5 billion for 4.3 months of imports. Gold and cocoa, that are the traditional economic sectors and employ the most, generated less foreign currency with their respective contribution to exports valued at $5.4 billion and $2 billion respectively against $5.7 billion and $2.6 billion at end of 2017. During the period under review, the net capital account was divided by two going from $3 billion to $1.5 billion. The government wants to substantially reduce its debt by 2021 but, for the time being, it has to continue to solicit the international market and it already announced the possibility of a $3 billion issuance. Its last issuance was in May 2018 and, it was oversubscribed by four times. Nigeria’s external debt rises by $11.77bn in three years Kenya’s public debt is rising to dangerous levels Kenya is weighed down by swelling public debt and faces the possibility of a debt crisis (where the government can’t repay what it owes). Kenya’s current public debt stands at approximately 4.884 trillion Kenyan shillings (USD$49 billion) or 56.4% of the country’s gross domestic product.. This is up from 42.8% in 2008. In other words, the country owes more than half the value of its economic output (GDP). The International Monetary Fund recommends that ratios of public debt to GDP should not be higher than 40% for developing countries. To be fair, this level of debt is comparable to that of other developing economies. For example, South Africa’s ratio of public debt to GDP was 53.1% in 2017 (2008: 27.8%). Nigeria’s was 21.3% in 2017 (2008: 7.3%). Brazil, India and China all have ratios over 40%. However, the economies of these countries are several times larger than Kenya’s. Policy analysts are worried about the country’s public debt compared with its national income. Kenya has a population of 51 million, implying that every Kenyan owes about USD$962 – and produces USD$1169 a year. In comparison, each South African owes about USD$1434 and produces USD$12,295. http://theconversation.com/kenyas-public-debt-is-rising-to-dangerous-levels-100790 |

ASK THE CREDITORS. You see nobody believe your GDP figures and nobody really going to lend your anything more than they would lend to Kenya or Ghana. I mean why are you more worried - it's not your money. I'ts not kenya or Ghana money. It's creditor money. If we cannot pay - we we simply ask to be debt forgiven like Nigeria did - and 18B were written off. Obviously we know better than that - and will promptly repay. Actually most of the debt is invested in business that will repay the debts. Not stashed abroad. You see if you were a functional country - you would borrow upto - 250B dollars - and fix all your problems - and when oil windfall come - you will repay the oil. That is is called levarage. But you can't pay. You won't pay. Nobody will lend. 68816419: 2 Likes |

Exactly - like kenya - we borrow to fund projects - like railway line that will repay the loan. It's really no biggie. The public for most part is just a guarantor. Just in case they don't pay the loan - then public will step in. Just30: |
