You people sha want to scare me, my baby has been doing same in the past 3 days, wakes at 1am, cries uncontrollably for 2 hrs, tires out and goes back to sleep, what is scaring me now is that the mamas experiencing this all have new borns, let me go and check myself to be sure nothing is growing nowhere cos I’m suspecting this my husband, the way he’s been eying new babies

But really I’m knackered mehn, I get to the office looking worn out, I need a cure, I doubt it’s hunger cos I tried feeding her the first night she did it and she used backflip to kick my plate

Lmao at backflip. She can't be jealous of the one in the tummy don't worry

Try giving warm milk that is if she doesnt slap it out of your hand. Be sure to have the cup in firm grip.

You can also try playing music and dimming the lights.

If you are trying to console her, her head will just be swelling and she will get you pissed. Just endure the noise and allow her to cry. She will stop it soon.

She's most likely adapting to life as an elder sister.

Another angle is to pray for her. It could be that she's restless and not enjoying her dream time.

Hmm so the kicking is not only us. She can kick out your teeth if you come too close and you have to offer food with care if not everything would be on the bed in a split second. Reminds me of the one she pulled on our way back to Lag. Flight attendant brought fanta, she used it to stone him cheesy. Another passenger sent his snack box all the way from the front, she kicked it. She even refused the fruit juice with the little straw. Once she's in the mood, its like nothing works.

Ya back? You dinnor bring Udara for me?

Probably a sense that she no longer has all the attention...or hunger

My mum sent the udara by bus. It took 4 days and everything spoilt, so annoying and I'm owing so many people. Don't even know what to tell them.

It's not hunger but if I give her gala, she would eat, then start play, then when sleep comes again she would start cry, so feeding her only prolongs my trauma.

This one doesn't care about any dress or shoes, your toddler is probably older. Spanking doesnt work for her too, at least not at this age. I'm waiting until she's like 4 to launch her bumbum cheesy
What of toys?,pay attention or get a gift for her and make noise of its goods for a whole day and see if you can use it a week later.

You just described my situation
I have boiled rice this morning, it is so annoying when it's your toddler that keeps you awake and not the new born.

When you find solution, please let me know

This one is toddler and nagging father because he would start on something crazy like how she's not eating enough vegetable as if vegetable is sleeping tablet.

My nephew was scared of police, guns and dogs, so we used to use it and threaten him into shushing at night, but he was prolly closer to 3 then. GB isn't two yet, she doesnt even really understand what you're talking, talkmore letting it calm her. She would just cry louder

Lol at stoning the flight attendant. Just like my dd when she's upset her legs are her biggest weapon. For the crying, what about bathing her, it sometime works for me as the heat is something else

Did they run tests to find out what's wrong before giving all this injection and drugs? I say try a good hospital.

If you have strength, leave her bathing time till around that time she wakes up to cry.My 21 mth old kept doing it until Dh vexed and gave him a cold bath,he slept off immediately. grin grin.

For weeks now that has been our routine.Next time he wakes up is when is time for school.

Mom of more than one child, if you don't want your kids acting up out of seeking attention then create me time with the older ones.

Put baby to sleep then cuddle your toddler.
Especially if your toddler is less than 3 or 4. They don't understand.
So try to care for the newborn together. Make them mommy's little helper, put the towel within her reach, let her close the Vaseline and praise her whenever she helps out.
Ask her to watch over the baby while you use the bathroom. Let the toddler feel some sort of responsibility for the young one, they will sort of exert some of the excess energy in the process.

Then have their time.
Newborn is still mostly sleeping, snuggle with your toddler, take a stroll with them alone (if there's someone to leave baby with).

All they need is assurance that they are still the love of your life.

Moyo became extra withdrawn when Akorede came. Muna was excited because I gave her the responsibility so Moyo felt sidelined.
So now, when I'm getting ready for work I wake him first and we talk while I'm sorting things out. We perform ablution together, pray and talk about grown up things.
Then we started clicking again.

Think of it as your husband bringing in a new wife.
Wouldn't you get cranky as hell too?

He may have been missing his parents

That's so sad sha

Yes we all knew he was missing them so we were always trying to pet and pamper him each time he starts, until it became a habit and we all found ourselves sleeping during the day time, so 1 day it took beating for him to stop it and that was the end..he will be 13yrs old in april

This night now, gave her a bath around 9:30, she was already very sleepy then and slept soon afterwards. Weather is kinda cold and our room is airy so she's not hot. But she woke up around 11 and is still wailing on top of her voice even as I'm typing. I know it has to do with the newborn sha cuz everytime the baby stirs or makes a sound, she increases her tempo and clutches me like she thinks im gonna get up and go carry him cheesy. If i actually have to get up, she would hold my leg and let me drag her to and for his cot. Argggggghhhhhh cry

Her dad says it could be because of the new baby as she wasn't like this before. Most times I send both of them out of the room, that way baby and I can get to sleep.

Can't wait for her to out grow this phase

Oh my God cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy
You no just well at all.

Then can you refer to the baby to her as "your brother" or "your baby" instead of baby or his name.
It will give her a sense of possession.

Biko who has any experience on these things on GBs head. My nephew had boils and I think GB caught it from him just as we were about leaving the village. I angrily cut her hair yesterday cuz she has massive boils on her scalp. For three weeks now, i finish fighting boil and new ones just come up. Now 2 days ago, a new batch came and took over her forehead. Village Doctor recommended ampiclox and it only succeeded i
n clearing some of the boils and didn't stop new ones from growing. Please who's had this experience before, I really need something that would just clear it once and for all and who knows if there are any pain relieve gels for kids the ones i can rub on the boils cuz the boils are painful.
