Hi guys, Is it true that drivers license and letter from FRSC does not necessarily work in calgary? If yes, what are the options. |
Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant Part 2 by tempest01(m): 9:21am On Feb 09, 2019 |
flyboi1: Driver licence works....first, you'll have to take a test. You have to get 24 out of 30 questions (need to confirm). if you have original license, it will be taken from you,.and verified. If it is original, a class 7 learners license will be given to you. According to your experience, it will be decided if you have to take a full class 5 or a class 5 GDL license road test. After a successful road test, your licence will be updated. Modified: see the attached picture flyboi1 10 Likes 14 Shares

flyboi1: Just to add to what @ tempest01 wrote. In addition to FRSC letter, if you get at least one year insurance driving record from naija with no claims, you can further drop your insurance rate. Mine went from 180cad to 62cad per month with both. 34 Likes 29 Shares |

MissMoroti: I think its only fair for me to update after i got a solution So the winches in etobicoke drivetest center rejected my license claiming its fake and cant be verified. She didnt even collect the authentication letter or anything. She just looked at the license and said NO. I tried to ask why and explain what “graduated u25” meant. She blatantly told me I’m holding the line and i should go and report to MTO in ottawa if I’m not satisfied with what she told me. I left and went to northyork drivetest center, that one didnt even bother to check my license because the etobicoke winch has already written something on my file online. So i called MTO customer care and complained, the customer service agent was so upset with the way i was treated and told me that the instruction MTO gave them is that “once there is an authentication letter and they can see my license on “https://www.nigeriadriverslicence.org/dlApplication/trackStatus” then she had no reason to decline. Na so i go check my license on the site o. My face was there gidigba to prove it was authentic. So the customer care lady gave me an address in downtown toronto; I carried myself and went to downtown. I explained my situation to the agent at ther ServiceOntario in downtown toronto. Na so she approve me o, I provided all the licenses I have been using since 2008 including all the temporary. The lady was just laughing that it’s not that deep. She checked online and verified o! 11years added and i booked my road test same day. Inshort, if you bring naija license come and you are coming to ontario. Just respect urself and go to “downtown toronto” that’s where we have sane people!! 64 Likes 29 Shares |

Guitarlife: Welcome boss. I hear there are lots of nigerians in Calgary. A good number of our sisters over there are single, so you should have no trouble finding someone to sing and play your guitar to. If you feel the number of nigerians in Calgary isn't large enough, you can always move to Toronto. You could legit decide to date only your tribe in Toronto(assuming you are igbo or yoruba), but the living expenses fit cause anoda minority feeling, this time it would be your bank account that would feel like a minority lol. 33 Likes 1 Share |
