Very, very diecy situation here.
Your gearbox has been poorly maintained by not changing the gear oil regularly.
Ideally your gear oil should be replaced together with a brand new gear oil filter fitted( and then pray to God that nothing happens.
But following the competence of our mechanics, only perform a drain and refill, at least 3 times with genuine Mercedes Benz atf fliud.
Another option is to continue driving it untouched until it gives up, the replace gear.

I import this car just last year June and no check engine light on dashboard.
Scanned with obdll no codes.

Somebody told me to continue use d gear like that as you said but I'm scare if it won t broke down one day

You can take a risk by performing a drain and refill.

Good day High Chief Motorguru...pls I need help with my 2008 toyota muscle 3.5L v6 xLE.
Firstly, changing the gear from park to reverse especially was becoming kinda strong(usually very smooth and noiseless). My mechanic (baba Kafaya) say transmission fluid short, just added one rubber of Oando ATF which I think kinda made the gear better, not sure though.
But going through this thread I discovered you recommend the use of toyota ATFs.
Should I just drain all the ATF and get the recommended one or?

Secondly there is this Check VSC System that appeared on the dashboard alongside one other yellow light at far right. Wetin be that one abeg? Google say na Vehicle Stability Control but wetin you day e be?

Then in the process of trying to change my battery (spoilt)we(me and baba kafaya boy) somehow disconnected the battery head completely and my sound system and rear camera lost their home training and stopped working...Someone said something about Map DVD to fix it but I wan know wetin you talk first.

Lastly the radiator coolant thing, should I just stick to the normal water and that coolant they mix or upgrade to that Toyota's already mixed coolant?

And please is there a way I can check the longevity of my fan belt cos the thing cut for this Abuja scary Express over the weekend while on scary motion and I have never been confused in my life amidst the chaos I experienced that day mehn...wouldn't want to experience something like that again. Na tow I tow the motor go house sef after plenty mobile police don threaten me finish based on say Buhari go soon pass the road.
Thanks and God bless.

Nice car you have there.

1. drain and refill transmision using ONLY Toyota WS ATF Fluid. Attached below Prepare to buy 5 cans of these
2. Your check engine light is on. You will need to scan your vehicle for trouble codes and post it here.
3. It seems your car is equipped with the DVD based navigation unit. Yes you will need the Navigation CD to get the unit working again.
4. Pls use only Toyota premixed coolant. it is the second picture attached.
5. Get a mechanic and check all the devices that is powered by the fan belt. It seems one is binding(and i strongly suspect your AC compressor)

1. Ensure you only use honda specific fluids for the Gearbox and power steering
2. Inspect your lower front ball joints from time to time.
3. Flooded area is trouble for that car o! The brainbox is located where flood can damage it easily. Avoid flooded areas when and where possible.

Congrats bro!

well the Civic is a reliable ride.
But ensure you only use Honda specific fluids for your gearbox and power steering.
Change your oil when due.(3000 miles if using conventional oils.)
Do not remove your Thermostat. The engine block on this car is prone to cracking without warning

Other than that you are good to go.

Available for you

Hello Motor Guru,

I will like to know where I can get Castro Oil for my Honda Accord Discussion Continue. Thats actually the oil the guy who sold the car to me was using and I want to stick to it as well. He uses the 10W40 Castro Oil instead of the 5W20 recommended.

The engine runs well and the car has no issue since I bought it. Please advice if I can change oil to the recommended 5W20 or I should just stick to what the guy has been using.

Thanks in anticipation of your prompt response.

10W40 is a heavier weight compared to 5w20. your car's engine was designed to use 5w-20 from factory. I think you should just stick to the 10w-40.
