gosky1: Hi B1/B2 are for tourism or business trip. And yes the holder can stay up to 6 months but it’s also a bit suspicious that anyone would go on a vacation for almost 6 months in a row. If your brother didn’t work or commit any crime he can’t be barred to go back in a few months but he will probably face a lot of questioning upon arrival. I know a person who was sent back because she stayed for 6 months, left and tried to come back after 2 or 3 months. The POE officer said she can’t be a tourist if she’s planning on spending 10 months in a year in the US. If I were him, I would just stay away for a year and apply for a new visa... unless he’s actually trying to settle there 1 Like |

Good day, Please I heard most people who had given birth in the US have been called for interview after Dropbox application. Please why is that? Does anyone have a different story i.e was granted after Dropbox renewal in recent times. Thank you. |

gosky1: How long did he say he would stay when he applied for the visa? If he stayed longer than the amount of days or weeks he indicated in the visa application and he doesn't have a very good motive for this then there is a high possibility that he might face some kind of questioning at the point of entry. I know this cos last year I was in los angeles for a sports competition though I flew in from italy where I live . An Italian citizen who visited the usa as a tourist and was visiting again in less than 6 months for the second time was given a stern warning and was told next time she visits and returns home , 180 days must pass before she can visit again or else she would be turned back. So as you can see the situation is very tricky cos he might be allowed or denied entry and visa cancelled. |

Good day my people, I've been following this thread from the beginning and it has helped me alot. But abeg I need help I applied for my ist US Visa in 2015, I was about 6months pregnant and I fully declared my intention and was granted my Visa. I had my ist baby in Dallas and used MCA, in total I paid almost 11k. I also had a 2nd baby in 2017 in Houston used st luke chi and dr f. I paid about 7k5. I also collected all my receipts and zero balance and everything. I didn't overstay or use any insurance of any kind, paid all my Bill's. Fast forward to renewal of my Visa, did drop box and was invited for an interview. I was actually very shocked and speechless , it was so fast that before I could react it was over and I was denied. The vo was visibly upset infact she was RED. I was so scared thought I had committed a crime. Here's a transcript of what transpired. I wasn't pregnant at the time just wanted to renew it so applied for b1/b2 Visa. Interview was in Abuja Vo. Good morning Me .good morning Vo can I have your passport Me. Hands it over Vo how many times have you visited the us Me twice in 2015 and 2017 both purposes for child birth. (This was where everything scattered, she was typing then she looked up gradually started turning red) Vo you were issued a Visa to have one baby and you decided to have 2 babies how convenient Me was confused at this point was wondering if it was illegal) since it was for the same purpose and I got pregnant again and could afford the bills Vo( she kept on repeating one Visa 2 babies, very convenient. Said this like 5 times and typing as well) Me I was told it's ok as long as you can afford it and I paid all my bills and I'm with my receipts Vo are you pregnant Me no Vo do you intend to have more babies in the us? Me for now no, I have a boy and girl and blah blah Vo (nodding her head in disgust like superstory ) so the only times you entered the us was to have babies Me yes, I paid all my Bill's and I have all my receipts Vo let me see Me. I hand them over ( started explaining, paid about 11k for the ist blah blah She cuts me Vo why where you given discount Me trying to explain self pay blah blah Vo you were given discount, I put it to you that you used insurance She was already so red with anger, me self do give up tire self cause it's obvious she was looking for fault Me I didn't you can see it clearly written no insurance was used self pay We argued back and forth when she saw she wasn't making sense she moved to the other bill. Immediately she saw it was from dr.f Vo aha you went to dr f right, Me yes At this point she started typing, the only bills she used to type whatever in her computer was dr f own,she then hands me the pink form and said a bunch of rubbish me I already packed all my things cause me I don vex too. My question is, 1.has anyone experienced this kinda thing with dr fs package, do they have anything against him? 2. Was I wrong to have used the Visa for the same purpose twice as that's what really ticked her off 3. I'm expecting now and intend to travel again, my husband wants to go for the interview to also renew his Visa but he didn't use the last one he was issued, it was a training but it was later done in Nigeria and being busy never really had the time to travel. Is it wise to apply with him or go alone . Please I need answers on how to proceed a new doctor since dr f, didn't seem to go down well with her. Thanks everyone. |

Amaka6934: The problem is with the bills, for each delivery there are several bills i.e. Dr Fs package, Hospital bills ++ and baby bill (pediatric) Can you post copies of your bills/receipts on this forum so I can explain somethings to you? (please do not show your personal information if you decide to post the bills/receipts) |

Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by aye88: 8:58am On Feb 11, 2019 |
anfanio: What is wrong with the bill. The visa officers was already fuming and complaining about using visa for two babies even before she brought our her bill. The bill just gave her an evidential reason to deny. I think she just met a VO who wasn't ready to be objective in her decisions or reasons to grant or deny. How else do you explain getting a medical visa, using it for childbirth, getting pregnant again before the expiration of the visa and using it for same purpose. Don't we all get visa for vacation and we use it multiple times for vacation?. That's why it's a multiple entry visa valid for two years. Madam ,you did nothing wrong jare. The US embassy is just hot this period. They will call down soon 15 Likes |

Anubaby: Hi Anubaby. Baby may decide to come before 37 weeks so this option is very risky. 2. No, it's not mandatory but when you consider that IVF babies are usually long awaited babies and also the cost of treatment, most doctors (esp. in Nigeria) will recommend CS as being the safer option. I know for a fact that in 2016, one of doctoresparati's doctors safely and successfully delivered a first time 50 year old mother of an IVF baby, via normal delivery. This is absolutely possible for a fit and healthy woman without any complications at all, especially in a country and hospital where baby's heart rate is monitored second by second and theatre is always on standby. |

Time to give back, this forum really helped me in preparing for my visa interview. I know everybody case is different, I live and worked legally in America till last year October but still going to appear for a B1/B2 with my due date very close makes me worry. Below is our my interview went. Vo. Good morning Me. Morning Vo. what are you going to do in America Me. Am going for about 3 reasons.... 1st worked there till last year Oct. so am going to file my last year tax, 2nd Am going for a meeting with my HQ in Houston 3rdly we are expecting and will like to go there to give birth Vo. Do you still have your insurance to give birth Me. No my insurance finished last year Dec. I intend to self pay my medical bill Vo. WHat is your estimate Me. From information have gotten from my Hospital and Dr. am looking at 30,000 to 35,000 Dollars ( Ideally i shold say like 8,000 Dollars based on discount fee have gotten as bill from Hospital and Dr. but from following different stories from this group i decide to go higher to avoid any story for the gods) Vo. Turned to husband, what do you do and where have you travelled too in the past. Husband. I worked at so so so and have traveled to USA,Uk UAE etc. Vo. You wll be contacted to pick up your visa next week Vo. But let me warn you, It takes about 20,000 Dollars to give birth in Texas if you get there and they offer you any form of discount i'll advice you decline because if you and pay less than the average amount of 20,000 Dollars someone will be here waiting for you in 2 years time when you want to renew your visa and you might be denied. Me. Thanks Noted This is a real issue now shopuld leave reasonable hospital charge for an expensive one.... Anyway just to share my experience for other people benefit. All the best to all 5 Likes 1 Share |

lareal4ever: Unfortunately, some patients asking to pay full price at Doctoresparati in El Paso, TX as well. Although the discounts offered are not linked to any kind of govt subsidy, it is sad that Nigerians are paying more than other patients since people from other countries pay the discounted price and have no issues. In any case, www.doctoresparati.com is sending the paperwork with the non-discounted prices and billing the full price upon request. |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by Beautyaddy: 2:44pm On Feb 13, 2019 |
Vlesparza: So do US residents who use private health insurance get this same discounts offered to them |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by Vlesparza: 3:45pm On Feb 13, 2019 |
Beautyaddy: The discount is available to all self-paying patients regardless of where they reside (local or international) or those who have medical insurance who are unable to afford their high deductible and would rather pay cash. Neither Medicaid or any kind of govt subsidy is used to offset the patients' financial obligations. Patients with private health insurance are billed differently since the insurance companies negotiate with hospitals what they will pay (they do not pay the amount that you see on the bill). The price they pay as well as what Medicaid is about the same price that is given as a discount (or even less). This has been posted before. The best weapon during your interview is to be informed. The Embassy knows this, you just have to have the correct answers when they are asking questions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CeDOQpfaUc8 |

Vlesparza: Great!...and thanks for the feedback. I guess it will be very helpful if all those other hospitals that some other women here have used can be this transparent with their hospital charges, rates and discounts. Unfortunately, not everyone of them will do such. |

I heard Mexico has finally agreed to pay for the whole wall but only at the original boundary with the USA. That means that for those of us who gave birth or are planning to give birth in Texas, our children are going to be Mexicans! 1 Like |

Vlesparza:Both category of patients are billed say $22,000, but the self-pay is given a discount of roughly 75%. That $22,000 still appears on the bill for the self-pay patient making it look ridiculous. I understand that you've said that the insurance companies dont even pay the $22,000 that they are billed but only a fraction. However the US govt doesn't believe that we the self-pay are entitled to same fractional payment. Maybe because most of the insured are on a longer term contribution to the economy of the US than the short term visitors. I've told you before that the highest I got for using a type of medical service in the US was 50% for paying cash. Applying 50% to a bill of $22,000 would bring the cost of birthing to $11,000. This has been the average "LET MY PEOPLE GO" mark for Visa officers. I commend health care providers that are ready to give the non-discounted package to patients who request for it. I would have said a 25% discount was okay but I think the US is ramping up for full payment in the long run. 3 Likes |
