You don't know what you are talking about, the US military can destroy Afghanistan and the Taliban in a week. The reason for the prolonged conflict is because it's a guerilla war and they have rules of engagement to minimize civilian casualties, there is also an economic angle to the war because the US normally use wars to bring itself out of recessions plus all the defense contractors making money and the CIA bringing heroin out of Afghanistan. Hell week is more of a psychological warfare with yourself. Yeah, it's physically exhausting but you don't get to be flogged like a malu for failing.

Moreover the essence of hell week is to test your physical, mental endurance ability. You're even allowed to fail and leave peacefully without you fearing for another phase of torture.

I had a room mate in Mariere hall, Unilag last year who died the day he got to NDA. This guy was in his final year in Economics but he chose to defer for NDA since that was his dream.

Before leaving finally for NDA, he took their physical test and aced it.

Then when he got there finally after bidding his family , friends goodbye, we suddenly heard of his death. It's even on nairaland.

How manage was that able to occur?
He was hazed.
Beaten to death. Why?
He got to camp late .
Someone who spent hours on road was beaten because he arrived to camp late.

US military training is a representation of battlefield prototypes. what you see on the pictures are exactly what any military personnel is likely to go through in a real-time battlefield. there are not abuse, inhuman or punishment. But in Nigeria, soldiers are tortured in the name of training. they get flogged with koboko while they are scooping hot rice with their bare hands. They are asked to put their bared heads on a concrete and other stupid stuff. Tell me what area on the battlefield can a soldier meet such situation? where will such training be useful?
In US military training, safety is the number one priority regardless of how though the training may be. In Nigeria, I don't think they know what is called safety, otherwise, they won't tuture anybody.

You do not Understand anything about war let alone international politics. It took the US 3 days to dismantle Sadam Hessin and overtook the whole country. Thank God you don't support it. That's what I want to hear. Soldiers in survival cut don't get irrationally molested. Every training they undergo has been thorougly scrutinised to ensure that it meets pentagon approved standards and that it's a true reflection of what's obtainable in warfare.

Any uneccessary training is scrapped out. Especially those that kills the mental and physical productivity of the soldier.

In Nigeria, what's obtainable is the entire opposite.
