INEC's Official Statement On Postponement Of 2019 Elections (Transcript) by PoliticsNigeria: 3:10am On Feb 16, 2019 |
@POLITICSNGR PoliticsNGR has been furnished with a transcript of the full statement by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC on the postponement of the 2019 General Elections. Read Below; "The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) met on Friday, 15th of February 2019 and reviewed its preparations for the 2019 General Elections scheduled for Saturday, 16" February 2019 and Saturday, 2nd March 2019. Following a careful review of the implementation of its logistics and operational plan and the determination to conduct free, fair and credible elections, the Commission came to the conclusion that proceeding with the elections as scheduled is no longer feasible. Consequently, the Commission has decided to reschedule the Presidential and National Assembly Elections to Saturday, 23% February 2019. Furthermore, the Governorship, State House of Assembly and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council Elections is rescheduled to Saturday 9" March 2019. This will afford the Commission the opportunity to address identified challenges in order to maintain the quality of our elections. This was a difficult decision for the Commission to take, but necessary for the successful delivery of the elections and the consolidation of our democracy. The Commission will meet key stakeholders to update them on this development at 2 p.m. on Saturday, 16" February 2019 at the Abuja International Conference Centre." https://politicsngr.com/breaking-inecs-official-statement-postponement-2019-elections-transcript/ 5 Likes 1 Share

Recent history repeating itself. The signs are there - The incumbent would lose. The main challenger would win. Apologies to those who planned to hold events on 23rd February and 9th March 2019. 95 Likes 3 Shares |

After 4 whooping years to prepare and another 400B + budget to go with? The APC government & all agencies under it have been monumental failures. Hope INEC will now allow those who could not collect their PVCs the opportunity to do so in this one week interlude? Nigerians lets arise to kick out this useless APC govt. 17 Likes |
