I should be asking you if you're new here on this forum....? grin

Does longevity on this forum translate to truth? Truth is ageless and timeless. But to understand the truth of God's word, you have to be born again. That is what I meant by initiation. So, are you born again and filled with the Holy Spirit?

None because the tongue or language they spoke was a SIGN TONGUE.....They spoke in the other men language and others heard and understood what they were saying.

That's different from the prayer tongue or language to God which Paul taught in 1 Cor. 14.

What Enechie and the rest doing is pure madness because when you pray in tongues no man can understand but your spirit communicate with God, you are to do that in your privacy not in public....
There have been cases where tongues spokennin winner here in Nigeria was confirmed by Bulgaria nationals as their language.
The problem is that you may not know where the language you are speaking originated and it will be a matter of chance to find one who happens to understand that language and will be hearing you as you speak.

that tongue of power has transmitted the power of God to heal and insanity, death etc have been arrested. It's needless to argue with you though but u must not believe. It's for they that believe in God's power.
You inadventently, are making satanic utterances, when speaking in an unknown tongue in private or public, without interpretation. Show me one verse, that recommended praying in tongues to be a weapon and code language to shield off satan from getting to know contents of prayer requests?

If you know the many benefits of speaking in tongues, you won't talk this way. I pray that you will understand one day.
the purpose of a tongue is for a sign to the unbelievers and to spread the gospel to those who's mother tongue were not Hebrew as the gospel was still new then. these are the reason for the gift of tongues. and not the dogma you have been taught in church.

They don't have to pass message accross in order to require interpretation.

So...where was it written in the scripture?

When we gather in a place of worship, prayer tongues WHICH NO MAN UNDERSTANDS should NOT BE PRACTICED unless there is one with gift of interpretation.

cite the source for this.

This is clear from scripture and this certainly is NOT THE SIGN TONGUE WHICH EVERY ONE SHOULD UNDERSTAND IN THE DIFFERENT LANGUAGES.

Show me where it was stated in the scripture that EVERY TONGUE MUST BE UNDERSTOOD IN THE DIFFERENT LANGUAGES.

Let's start from there!

Your ignorance is on a different level. I pray that truth will heal it over time. I can list at least 30 benefits of tongues and I know how I am benefiting from it.

I know you may find this so difficult to chew but it's worth it. Go and watch Jehovah's Witnesses during worship,i'm sure you'll see everything as Jesus instituted it in the first century.
I know many will start attacking me for suggesting this but you just don't mind the noise in the market, simply focus on what you're seeking which is PURE undiluted worship. God bless you! smiley smiley smiley

Well everything that happened in the first century foreshadows future events. Christianity is to spread across the globe so that what Jesus taught those few Jews will be known everywhere,so at pentecost 33ce the first Chriatians were granted the ability to speak the magnificent things of God in various foreign tongues.
That prophesy has been accomplished today as Jehovah's Witnesses are speaking in 998 languages globally! So we've accomplished on a global scale what those few Jews did on a small scale back them in Jerusalem! Whoever is speaking in any unknown language today is just doing a NOTICE ME thing,it's unchristian!

Yeah well when you believe in a talking donkey and snake what is speaking gibberish?
The talking donkey was a one off, it hasnt happened again ever since that one time and I doubt a retake will ever happen soon. Correctly, it never was a snake but was a serpent, and apparently it is natural for serpents to talk, so what's the big deal. Now, the real deal is about this lot and the just dang delusion of grandeur, false belief in abilities to speak an unknown language, that are not just deceiving selves but also are deceiving others along into buying the deception.

Dantedasz:
Paul that does not for once talk about the virgin birth, which is the basis for the foundation of Christianity?
Delusion and more delusion =more astounding rubbish.
This man just wants to have an argument for argument sake, with such a dim observation like this

LordReed:
You know I never really considered that. Interesting. Bible aka my book of amazing tall tales. LoLz
I would open the curtains, to check, if it was me, Dantedasz told its raining outside.

Of course, Paul did not directly and explicitly talk about the virgin birth in his epistles, because the virgin birth wasnt at any time, with them a contention. Paul's writings however are in tune perfectly with the teaching of the virgin birth found in other parts in the bible and it's a fact and truth that, you wont find Paul, anywhere talk against the virgin birth because it is an accepted and/or known fact

Wow!
Just seeing this.
MuttleyLaff,While I take exception to you calling me a liar,I am going to ignore that and indulge you in your silly game of "going-round-in-circles-as-usual."

1.Saul who later became Paul, was a prosecutor of Christians.
2.While on the road to Damascus to prosecute more Christians he had an "eureka"moment when Jesus Christ appeared to him in a blinding light.
3.Saul became blind and despondent.
4.For three days Saul was blind and did not eat nor drink.
5.In Damascus,a Christian, named Ananias is sent by Jesus to go to Saul and restore his sight.
6.Ananias protests to Jesus.
7.Jesus assures Ananias.
8,Ananias goes to Saul, places his hands on him, says his lines and dramatically scales fall from Sails eye's and he can see again.
9.Saul is immediately baptised and after spending some time with the disciples in Damascus becomes Paul and begins the ministry of writing all the letters in the New Testament of the Bible.

MY QUESTION IS-WITH ALL PAUL'S WRITINGS OF LETTERS TO THE EARLY CHRISTIANS, WHY DOES HE NOT ONCE MENTION THE MIRACULOUS VIRGIN BIRTH BY WHICH JESUS CHRIST WAS CONCEIVED?
PAUL MENTIONS EVERYTHING BUT DOES NOT ONCE MENTION HOW THE VIRGIN MARY WAS VISITED BY THE HOLY GHOST AND CONCIEVED OF BABY JESUS?
It is obvious Paul never mentioned the virgin birth because it never happened. The virgin birth was later adoptions of Christianity to equate Christ to God. The virgin story was an insertion/interpolation by the writers of Mathew and Luke gospels.
The gospel of Mark which was the first written gospel does not mention ANY virgin birth.
It is obvious from Paul's writings and letters that he hadn't the foggiest idea about any virgin birth.

I was a Muslim before i started studying the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses. So i decided to listen in order to point out the flaws in their beliefs only for them to win me over! wow nice to know that. its not easy converting from one religious faith to another. You are not alone in that aspect. Even Jesus' first century followers finds it difficult to swallow all that the young guy from Nazareth was saying. Majority of them deserted Him at some point in time but the 12 took their stand because "there is no other place where they can get the sayings of everlasting life" John 6:68,69
So when Jesus said "it's not everything that those faithful men can grasp quickly" {John 16:12}they remained with Him! wink wink wink

And when you pray,
do not babble on like pagans,
for they think that by their many words they will be heard.

- Matthew 6:7

It has to be said, babbling that what was practised in the ancient world, which is glossalia, did predate the occurrence of speaking in tongues that happened on Pentecost day.

20th/21st century Christians however, openly and without any sense of embarrassment, did not only hijack glossalia (i.e. babbling) but took ownership of it, to pass, as speaking in tongues

The disconcerting thing is that, the one thing Jesus Christ warned against, as seen in Matthew 6:7 above, not to do, is exactly just what Christians and/or supposed believers have taken a shine to and delight in doing.
