This is General Krishnaswamy Sundarji, PVSM the greatest strategist till date in Ind....

In the 80s he concocted an operation which would have removed the itch on the western permanently , he managed to stage one of the largest military excercise after WW2 which infact was a cover up for an alleged invasion plans comprising upto 1 million troops at a go.

Unfortunately Americans butted in after cia penetration of the moronic ind.... politicians at the last moment. The general was able to keep the actual plans hidden until the last moment but failed when the politician needed to be bought into the loop for the final orders.

The idea was to provoke the opposite side into contact with own forces so that it could serve as an excuse to attack the nuclear sites and disintegrate the said country.

Now all is lost unfortunately

The exercise was so huge , NATO classified it as the biggest wargames ever since WW2.

My dude, details!

Army Launches Hunt For 56,000 Night Sights For Assault Rifles

The army wants 40,000 image intensifier-based night sights and 16,000 thermal imaging based night sights, officials said. Original equipment manufacturers have been asked to respond to both RFIs by March 15, 2019

The Indian Army on Monday issued two requests for information (RFI) for equipping thousands of assault rifles with two different types of night sights to bolster the night-fighting capabilities of its soldiers, two officials familiar with the development said.

The army has launched a hunt for image intensifier and thermal imaging-based night sights for a total of 56,000 7.62 X 51 mm assault rifles, according to the RFIs. Image intensifier-based night sights amplify ambient light for detecting targets, while thermal imaging sights spot targets by their body heat.

The army wants 40,000 image intensifier-based night sights and 16,000 thermal imaging based night sights, the officials said. The RFI for image intensifiers states that its sight should allow soldiers to aim up to 500 metres and to detect a human target at minimum 600 metres. Another key army requirement is that the sights should have a service life of 10,000 hours of operation or 10 years, whichever is earlier.

The second RFI states that the thermal imaging-based sights should facilitate accurate engagement of targets at a range of 500 metres. The sights should also be able to detect a moving human target at 800 metres and recognise it at 500 metres. These sights should have a minimum service life of 10,000 hours of operation or 12 years, whichever is earlier.

Original equipment manufacturers have been asked to respond to both RFIs by March 15, 2019. The requests for proposals for the night sights will be issued in August 2019 to take the proposed procurement forward.

According to the RFIs, the image intensifier-based night sights have to be delivered between six to 48 months of the signing of contract and the thermal imaging-based night sights will have to be supplied between six to 24 months.

The infantry is virtually blind and the night sights will provide soldiers a much-needed capability, said former Northern Army commander Lieutenant General BS Jaswal (Retd).

“Even if the surveillance equipment detects the enemy, the shooter can’t see the target. Despite detection, there is no integration between the shooter and the sensor for accurate engagement,” he said.

“World over armies are going in for shooter-to-sensor integration. It is the need of the hour for the Indian Army too. Ideally, we should go in for night sights for 7.62 X 39 mm rifles too.”

56,000 Night-/Thermal sights is significant volume! Not sure how many NATO countries field this number of advances sights.

42+ soldiers killed in a vbied attack by pa.... based terror group.

This is the largest casualty figure in Ind... till date in a single attack in recent years.

Intel was there something was going to happen after pa...... started replacing the border guards with regular troops a week back before the attack. Pic 1

Warning was issued almost a year back and it happened now. Pic 2

Now this will snowball into something big , elections r near , unless retaliation is done the government will stand to lose the coming elections.

This attack is reminiscent of Taliban type attacks , possible fallout of peace talks with Taliban , terror assets being moved from east to west side to relieve pressure on West side

Pa..... now have cancelled all leave for its troops and activated all air defence and mounting air deterrence patrols

This is follow on order in addition to the previous buys over the past few years. It was lumped together to ensure lower costs due to bulk acquisition.

Many Ind... Companies having been supplying the same to IA over the years

Most probably tonbo imaging will win the tender if they keep the price low.

They work for Darpa and IA found out about them when they were in a SF exercise in US and were impressed with the sights and when they asked the Americans where they got them .

They were surprised when the Americans told them from an Ind.... company.

Also it tells much about the stupidity and ignorance of IA.

I have written about tonbo products here many times , search in this thread if interested

A train on a transition to another station suffers a minor issue and train is stopped due to safety regulations as it is new type of train.

It was not even on a commercial run then.

But it is a big enough issue for British bitching corporation to run a false article on it.

Oh the irony all British trains r all imported tongue

Still clinging to colonial hangover I guess

But the good news the train successfully completed it's first commercial run yesterday and now all seats booked for 1 month.

Anybody wondering why Taliban never runs of ammo weapons and explosives ?

10000 kg explosives hidden in cement bags sent from pa...........

And what's interests me most is there is no markings on the mortar bombs , looks like it was erased before delivery. Most probably from old stocks nearing end of life
