I thought its very lucrative listening to comments of riders

Add the issue of unscrupulous mechanics, lastma, vios, police, riders begging for discount, traffic congestion to the mix, honestly this biz is just to ensure you keep body and soul together. More wacky cars are added daily, partners are no longer willing to put down grade A tokunbo cars, hire purchase tricks aint working, because the average driver does not really care about hp, but will use the car like a sex starved hyena, dump it within 6 months and start looking for the next hp deal dump the deal again within 6 months, so that within 18 to 24 months, he can say God don bless my hustle, i now drive my own car.
Investors have wised up, that HP deals are no longer a motivating factor, the wise investors now demand upfront deposit, some are just selling off their cars, can't be somebody's else dummy.

That's relatively low and one would then ask why risk so much to make so little, I want to share this here just for comparison, last year while going thru the business thread, I stumbled on a guy who created a post that he needed a loan of 20k payable in 3 months, as a loan officer with over 18yrs experience in the bank, I got attracted with his sincerity to pay 20k in 3months, some others would have said just one month in other to attract creditors, I opened the thread and read thru it and he said he wanted to start a mobile phone accessories business (mobile as in, he will be using a wheel barrow) I contacted him and after talking to him for abt 30mins, I decided to dash him the money but won't let him know until after a month , next day I Transfered the money to his account, he called to thank me and bla bla bla, after a month he called to know of he could pay part of the money and I said, I'll rather wait until the 3months expires, I obviously wasn't going to take the money from him, time flew and it was the 3rd month, he called again that he has the full money and was ready to give me additional 10k making it 30k , that's when I told him I dashed him the money and I'm very impressed with his honesty and hardwork, for the first time I told him I wanted to meet and discuss with him, I met him two weeks ago and this guy has a perfect record keeping, I went thru the rough book myself and I discovered that on a bad day, removing expenses this guy makes an average of 3k - 5k daily and a minimum profit of 100 naira on anything sold, profit can be as much as 500 to 1k. I told him to come see me if he would like to expand but he declined. That's said, going by the quoted msg, if the uber driver makes the quoted daily, is it then worth the stress and risk of driving round Lagos? Note: I have 6 vehicles, 4hp and two rentals, I've been lucky not to have bad drivers because I'm not greedy and I ensure repairs and services are carried out as at when due. Can someone please give an accurate figure a driver can earn monthly driving on uber. Thanks
The world needs people like you to succeed in life not naysayers and pessimists. Salute you sir.

people have to think out of the Box. There's a Dispatch Rider that makes a minimum of 5k from my workshop every day, all he does is come from ladipo market 2wice in a day. I am certain he makes over 10 different trips every day. Fuel will never cost him more than 1500 every day.

No, if it can feed you, then it worth it.

it is not how much you make, it's how resourceful are you? if you can save 1k every day calculate it by one week then calculate in a month. Some civil servants earn less than that amount but they are living

It takes some measure of discipline to be successful. you may not be rich but you can plan your life through it. it solely depends on you.

Some earn million in a month but have nothing to show for it.

be determined, deprived some pleasure and spend according to income. Leave trivial life and plan your life.

And you think that is life? Do you know how many accidents he evades daily? And more he will still evade? How is being a dispatch rider thinking out of the box? You are aware that 3500 remains after 1500 fuel right? And its less than 10 dollars right? How certain are you that those 10 trips come daily? Because this was how they were hyping Uber before. Now to find one trip na wahala. Even if you find, na all those useless Lekki gals that want to go from Fola Osibo to The Place on admiralty!!

This is my point exactly, he spends less, less physical stress and makes more profit. By the way I was also considering the delivery business using bikes, I could get some bikes and give them out. Thanks for sharing

Bricklayer work can feed a normal man. Can we say then that it's worth it?
Truth is, ehailing work was designed to be part time side hustle, not full-time work for car owners, talkless of those on rentals. I used to drive averagely 80 hours a week, to have #20,000 to #30,000 for myself at the end of the week. But I had no time for myself, no time for family. The money itself was not as regular. And then car issues to deal with.
The wise car owners are out of the business already. Likewise the wise car drivers.

My opinion, strictly

Roll down your windows and just drive slowly towards Ketu. It will cost you 3 litres of fuel. Hopefully, a ride request will come in before you reach Ketu. Worst case scenario, you will get a request in Ketu area or Maryland. Don't park in one spot in Ikorodu waiting for trip. You might be there for hours.
Toh, I don talk my own

Gazzuzz, u know u can be highly diplomatic. I can tell you that those dispatch riders suffer a lot. Infact, its better to be under AC and make 5k than be under Sun and make 10k. You don't wanna know what those guys pass daily. Its better experienced than explained. Uber and taxify drivers are even enjoyin as per you are inside a car that is air conditioned and may even shield you from accident impacts.

Can the same be said of Dispatch drivers?

Or Gazzuzz, are u sure you are not about to launch a dispatch riding company? If dispatch riding is so lucrative, why are you not a dispatch rider?

The funny aspect about the ikorodu trip. When the request came in, I thought it was Obafemi Awolowo road, so I didn't even bother to ask, cos I have zero it down to Ikeja, not knowing they is another Obafemi Awolowo road in Ikorodu. When the rider say its the one at Ikorodu, I almost pull over while shaking my head, ha! Ikorodu.... But I can't risk 1 *, so I had to proceed for the love of *.
