an tweet via its official handle, the Nigeria police force has revealed that the IGP M.A Adamu has charged the Digital and Forensic Unit of @PoliceNG to investigate the authenticity of a photo circulating on social media, to ascertain whether it's real or photo-shopped.

The outcome of the investigation and appropriate actions will be made known to the public, the force headquarters tweeted.

An internet user had earlier shared the photo of 3 policemen displaying the 4 + 4 sign, a symbol associated with Buhari/APC 2019 campaign.

The photo has since raised doubt on the neutrality of members of the Nigeria police force in the rescheduled general elections.

Every police man is a Nigerian, they have a right to be seen and to voice their individual vote. They are no less than you or I and to suggest that they must be neutral is to rob them of their fundamental rights.

The NPF as an organisation has not campaigned for candidate so therefore the police officers as individuals are at liberty to vote as they so choose and to express their choice publicly.

I'll like to see the moral disciplinary board that can justify otherwise.

You are hereby corrected. Here is a very vocal supporter of trump among many others but he is the one that has gotten the most media attention.

Police officers are at liberty to express what they feel just like firemen nurses and any other employees. And to say they can't wear their uniforms while exercising their freedom of speech in itself is stifling .

Any officer can campaign for Atiku or Fela Durotoye once it's done in a many that does not infringe on the rights of others or bring disrepute to their organisations
