@bolded, lost conscious & died, true, because they won back in November last year! Time is running out. They have until April to claim their winnings or it goes to charity. I think they probably threw away the ticket because nobody waits this long. This would be a 1st if they're out there still contemplating what to do next.

Now back to our lottery. I just checked the location of the winning ticket & you're right, it's the WC. What I don't understand is why it's always the people who play for just R20 that always win big jackpots. I spent R45 yesterday & I didn't even win the usual R2.50 grin I'm so heartbroken. I had plans! cheesy

Actually some people wait that long,I guess they give it time to sink in.There was a similar case here in SA of a lottery winner who claimed a R28 million from last year's ticket and they came to claim it just few days before it's expiry date.Maybe even this US one is still overwhelmed,I mean the amount is close to trillions when you convert it to our currency shocked shocked

Well perhaps they get the impression that you don’t really NEED the money if you are willing to spend R45 on tickets wink wink (remember;their aim is to give money to the less privileged) so they give the money to people who are too poor to spend more on tickets...you get the gist? wink .Next time you play with R45 make sure you play at different locations so they won't know the money came from the same player wink

was I incuded in your plans?

FIGURE from ONLY FIRS ,Not customs,Aviation,NCC and others grin grin
Non-oil component of the N5.302 trillion realised in 2018 reportedly stood at N2.467 trillion, representing 53.62 percent while oil component contributed N2.852 trillion, representing 46.38 percent. It is commendable that in spite of steady increase in revenue collection over the years, FIRS has also maintained continuous reduction in cost of collection such that in 2016, 2017 and 2018, when N3.307 trillion, N4.027 trillion and N5.302 trillion respectively, were collected, cost of collection as a percentage of actual taxes collected, stood at 2.6 percent, 2.49 percent and 2.14 percent in 2016, 2017 and 2018, respectively. It is hoped that this trend, aimed at drastic reduction in cost of collection compared with actual revenue achieved, will go a long way in ensuring substantial total tax revenues for government annually, to execute its projects and programmes.

FIRS’ non-oil collection was reported to have resulted in 64.99 percent in 2016, 62.25 percent in 2017 and 53.62 percent in 2018. This is clear indication of government’s unflinching efforts to increase non-oil revenues in view of raging decline in oil earnings in recent times.
convert to dollars idiot and see how puny your revenues are.You cannot cook taxes like you cook GDP.

the full couldnt see where it states
"Nigeria comes in at number one with a GDP of $1.121 trillion. Manufacturing, financial, service, communications, technology, entertainment, agriculture and oil sectors all contribute to the country's economy."

Even at the federal level , Nigeria is shifting from oil, the non oil sectors contributed 56% of the federal IGR
56% of 10B dollars is what Uganda without any minerals collect in half year.If you GDP wasn't cooked you won't lead in poverty and you gov budget won't be equal to Kenya... another 3 or 4 yrs Kenya budget will be double Nigeria..60B...with revenue approaching 30B.

Regarding the U.S. winner, according to the lottery spokesperson, this is a 1st for them & they're getting worried as the expiration date is getting closer. Another thing is, the longer it takes for the winner to come forward, the more charges/taxes accumulate. Hence it's puzzling. The U.S. charges quite heavily on lottery winnings. The winner will be walking away with only $800+ M of the money if they choose to take a once-off payment. Seems like daylight robbery if you ask me. Thank God ours is not taxed.

How much do you play with usually? I think I'll start betting with less money, hopefully my poverty will shine through cheesy

I was gonna break tradition by paying lobola for you grin
