Buhari Displaying Bitterness For Not Attending The CommissioningOf Akwa Ibom Air by Biafrareform(m): 7:31pm On Feb 20, 2019 |
President Buhari is the president of Nigeria and should try to show that. Akwa Ibom Air is a laudable development and his presence or that of his VP or minister of Aviation there is highly needed. He chose to stay away. That's bitter politics and shouldn't be encouraged But he was in Taraba state to commission a mango. This man thinks backward 10 Likes 2 Shares

zeuss: You’re right! Insofar as it’s not happening in Abuja, Kano, Kaduna or Lagos, they ain’t interested....and giving the new airline maximum federal support and encouragement is out of the question! |

You guys continue to display your stupidity, you called it Ibom Air,meaning it's state owned, and the mango you claimed he went and commission is agricultural based, which one is of benefits to both the rich and poor, and which one create more jobs and locally and make more people productive,if u neglect agriculture then u invite hunger 4 Likes 1 Share |

AudiA4: This is a very wrong analysis..haaaaa..fear God naaa and give the Governor props son...how many airports do we have in the country and how many mango trees do we have?even in my backyard here in Lagos ooo we plant and harvest fruits so whats special Don't you realise that accessibility is key to commercialisation/ that y great empires of the past didn't joke with networking as regards road system..Bros both are important because for you to grow your economy, you must provide easy access for investors and even local manufacturers...if managed well, this airline will generate jobs and also funds for the government to further pay salaries and undergo further capital expenditure While we appreciate agriculture please what was achieved in Akwa Ibom should be lauded and the FG can learn from its implementation and replicate same howbeit in a larger scale. Lets not politicise everything ooo 2 Likes 1 Share |

gobuchinny:What? do u call that achievement in akwaibom? Your state government purchased two Bombardier CRJ900 aircraft, and u want to compare that to agricultural development, Nigerians with the way they think, how many of your poor people in the state will fly in that aircraft, the first basic thing of life is Food, after that any other thing follows |

AudiA4:the first basic thing is food then without money can you buy food? Do you know how much that airline can generate for aks? They would not even need allocation to pay salaries again. Only this airline would pay the salaries of all the workers if properly managed. The governor can subsidize air fares and the whole aks would be flying ibom air leaving other airlines to work harder. Udom is a good governor. 2 Likes 1 Share |

For him Mango is more important than the launch of an airline by a state. Abi you want to take the shine from his government? What they couldn’t to after so much noise and propaganda, a state government is doing quietly. |

AudiA4: Hmmmm..so as Nigeria is now we dont have food atall abi...bros if you go to the villages the people farm and harvest..yes agriculture is important but so are other things like transport e.t.c..please what you are saying is not making sense sir..even in 1000 years time people will still be farming but we also need infrstructural growth and technological advancement. Besides did he go to commission the first biotechnological/genetically grown fruits or its the same old fruits me and you plant in our backyard? whats the achievement there..the villagers plant and harvest..kini big deal? Give props sir...The president should be in that commisioning and not commissioning mangos...we are past that one...will he come to my house also and commission mangos as we get the trees for backyard ooo..actually plaintain not mangoes..but you dont have airlines in any ones backyard. The same Nigerian Airways he couldnt do, a state has done so he should send his team to understudy them.. |

gobuchinny: What has your state done that is so fantastic and out of this world, which one of the two impact on the people more? Any nation that cannot feed his people is DOOMED,agriculture revolution is far more important than going to commission two aircrafts for the state domestic airline |

AudiA4: Do you know how many people Emirates, Kenyan air, Ethiopian sir employ? You can't tag this milestone as being below agriculture. Real wealth is created in value addition not in raw material production and that's why Akwa Ibom State government takes processing of agric products very important. Udom has built cocoa processing plant, rice milling, coconut refinery, pencil industry, syringe, electric meter manufacturing, paint et al. Akwa Ibom is one of the few states with its own IPP. Continue producing your agric produce, we'll get it from you at peanut, transform it and sell it back to you at higher price. This explains why Southern states barring Kano have better economy. |

AudiA4: Both of you are wrong. Agriculture no matter how much we want to believe will increasingly play a smaller role in the economy compared to other sector such as industry and services. As economies grow, the size of the agricultural sector as a percentage of GDP falls annually. Were the agricultural sector to grow faster than other sectors of the economy, it will indicate that the economy is in the grip of a severe recession. In China for instance when it started liberalising in 1978, the agricultural sector was growing by 5% annually but the manufacturing sector by over 10%. So the agricultural sector will play a smaller size and role in the economy. Buhari on the other hand wants to increase agriculture share of GDP to 49% from about 18% today. This will make Nigeria will be as poor as Chad! Meanwhile, I doubt an airline is the best investment for Akwa Ibom now. It should focus resources on building industrial estates and providing investment subsidies to lure in investors. That would provide far more returns to the state. Also, the state can provide Micro loans to businesses. This has also been found to be very beneficial. 2 Likes 1 Share |
