And all those players were in the SE team at the same time! Now u understand why I have always opined that not more than 1 or 2 of the current crop of SE will make that 2004-2006/7 Eagles team.

''Imama Amapakabo contacted me that he wants to have me in the Olympic Squad. It’s almost the best feeling,'' Okoye said to Omasports.com.
''This is a big step, and I’m going to take this chance and prove myself. I think he’s one of the coaches of the Super Eagles.
''This is where I want to be. My dad is very happy, and he will be proud of me more than ever. He has always prayed for this, and I have always prayed for this as well. It is a big dream.''
Although Okoye admitted that he has never watched the Super Eagles play live at the stadium, the 19-year-old named Alex Iwobi as one of the players he looks ups to.

” As a coach, i wanted to win the nations cup. We got all the support needed from the NFF to excel at this level but we lost two key attackers, Wasiu Alalade to administrative issues and Victor Boniface to injury on the eve of the competition.

“These are important members of the team. Alalade was our highest goal scorer in the qualifiers while Boniface was key to our early success. Unfortunately, we had to travel without these two and it really affected the team.

“Reading most of the comments after the game has given us the confidence that we can do better in Poland. We plan to invite more young players to the team when we resume camp in March”,

If he is serious, he would get us a true under 20 team for the world cup and stop the excuses.
