The North.

You can be doubly sure that the Northern Nigeria will top in all the Negativities... poverty, illiteracy, terrorism, drug addiction, child marriage, out of school children, population explosion, violence, riot killings, political thuggery. ... just name it.

And yet the North has produced more Presidents and Heads of State than any other part of Nigeria with nothing to show for on their people and region.
And yet still, even with the high rate of illiteracy in the North, they still get the juiciest of government jobs and appointments.

I am not understanding the North.

See Atiku state. Couldn't even uplift his communities despite the billions he looted after overseeing the privitisation of our properties to his thieving cronies.

Thank God for Buhari coming in to stabilize us through this recession which happened because jonathan failed to save despite earning 60% more than Buhari. Note the global fall in the price of crude oil from $110 per barrel in 5 years under Jonathan to a paltry $50 per barrel under Buhari administration yet Buhari was able to give us many project such railway, Baro port, Revival of fertilizer mills etc as well as keeping us afloat through the recession while surprising Iweala and Soludo who all predicted recession in the coming years regardless who wins between Jonathan and Buhari in 2015.

PDP, Neva again.
Atiku people are in abject poverty yet he took his looted money to develop Dubai. Heartless leader.

it is actually simple.
Make sure you have power. For this you need population (fake/real). Appoint your people in strategic positions. Whether the people are dying or not...not the elite problem....so long as power de their hand.

Benin Republic you mean? If you mean Edo, you will be surprised despite poor govt performance since 1999.
Excluding even Italy (money from there has dried up), Edo has about the third largest hard currency remittances per volume after Lagos and Oyo States. Per head, it receives the most foreign remittance.

Always in top 5 in WAEC results, high literacy rate, a booming real estate sector. The people do not rely on govt allocation. Despite being a moderate oil producing State. Poor roads and amenities are a result of poor governance.

Crude oil will not dry up but the price will drop because several countries will discover their own. You know the meaning of that in Economics?
Born2Breed:
Plateau This state used to be one of the states with natural resources.

Crude oil producing States should take note, when crude oil dries up you will be among the list if you don't invest now in agriculture.
