Good afternoon
I applied for my us visa but didn’t get to use it till it expired last week
I would like to apply via Dropbox
Can anyone who has been in this situation advise what to do?
Would I be called for an interview or what?
Please help

Interviews are not cast on stone------It is a simple conversation and it is best if you could gently and respectfully explain things to VOs
gimakon:

No offence, you seen someone who got his visa that way? Just asking.
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by sholsy: 11:32pm On Feb 20, 2019
You are good. You won't be called for an interview except you provided some conflicting information on your new DS form from the previous one. It is not compulsory you used your visa before it expires so you can go ahead and apply via Dropbox.

Apologies. No vex, you know Seye is one of the best no strings attached helper around here, Relax! August tickets are never price friendly compared to others, that's peak period proper. You really don't have to be in a hurry if I can advise, don't even panic buy at all, keep searching, there's no way you won't get that ticket in the next few weeks (late March/early April tops) with less than half a million Naira. If you are a desperate searcher like me, you can even squeeze in a LAX-JFK/LGA leg sef at a fair price still or do that leg altogether early on Southwest (free baggage allowance of 23kg * 2 on a US local flight is a plus methinks) if your travel dates becomes exactly known to you soon.

seyewest:

I booked something like that for N455K during the weekend... I'm sorry if you feel offended, such will never repeat itself again.

Hey thanks guys...Not offended at all, just wanted to advise our very own Seye.

I use southwest inbetween my local flights always while in US.

That jfk return from Abuja I saw too but doing another return jfk-lax is stressing and costly coupled with the long transit in Cairo.

My challenge is that my annual leave falls in August and I'm going with wifey while keeping the kids with granny so I want them without school stress.

It seems that period na fire...I normally travel March to April to June max.

Man must restrategize be that.

I have a friend, who didn't use hers at all as well (2years B1/B2). After her visa expired, she applied via dropbox, it was renewed and got the regular email that her passport was ready for pickup without being called for any interview.

Okay, working legally doesn't transmit to living there legally.

Does he have a green card? etc.

Drlag:
Yes, but he got there through masters and later got married and he is working there legally now. Please does the way one enter US matters and what effect does it have on applicant

Hello.
Is your cousin there legally? If he isn't, i would advise you do not put his name on your DS 160.

It works both ways....You may or may not be called for an interview. A similar situation happened to my cousin and family. They were called for an interview and Visa granted.
My own case was I chose to be interviewed rather than do the drop box as the recent trend was calling most people back for interview and i couldn't afford to waste much time back & forth with scheduling for a closer date....got the Visa again!

Maybe you should hold on till april... it will come down a bit and don't try Egypt airline if you're traveling with your kids.

Yeah I will hold on for the booking and see. Not traveling with kids actually, just wife.

And my belief is that the earlier I book, the cheaper it gets. undecided

Good afternoon everyone. My sister is having her graduation in the US by May and I am planning to attend.

I have gotten my visa and date of appointment but I'm trying to KNOW if I might be lucky enough to CONVINCE the VO of my intentions. I am 26 and a federal staff.

Normal questions of how relevant the conference is to your job etc. Meanwhile, US no de too give Visa for conference ooo. You really have to convince the VO

Good day to everyone in the house , please kindly help me with this , i am a journalist, Senior health reporter precisely , with a reputable magazine in Nigeria, I have an interview coming up soon, my visa class is journalist / media I class visa , I'm attending a conference as a media delegate...
More so, I've not seen anybody's transcript or experience in this visa category , please what are the likely questions I should be prepared for?
Thanks

These are questions for you.

Any other question would just be around (maybe) your travel history, how long you are staying, how long you have worked for your present company, how much you make, your married life, if you have kids etc.

tunddy:
is that all?
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by KaptainAfrika: 8:37pm On Feb 21, 2019
Yours is rather straightforward.
- you would probably be asked how long you have worked for the organisation, how much you earn, why you were picked for the conference, some questions on your field, the relevance of the field to you.
- it would really help if your magazine has high visibility i.e. online presence, awards (my opinion).
- Go with all relevant documents - employment letter, invitation letter of the conference, or anything that will support your case (my opinion).

You're most likely going to be called for an interview to give a very good reason why you didn't use that visa that expired ... if you're not convincing enough, hmmmn US embassy no get much joy lately oo haha

They did not ask for my statement, even though i had it with me.
I was asked my monthly salary, while filling out my DS 160 form. That was all.

please if it wouldn't be too much to ask how much did you feel as your monthly salary.
Or better still how much do you think its a satisfactory answer to fill.
I currently work as a business development representative in one of the top breweries in the world. my salary is a little short from 200k but i do get incentives and monthly allowances that sometimes amount to 300k.

what do u guys think its the best figure to input, im really confused
