For me, its a stock i will like to buy and hold for medium term going by my analysis. I have taken time to study their business model, management, operating environment and outlook which appears to be a future gold mine.

The attraction for buying Diamond is the upside that one will get from the merger with Access Bank. N1 cash dividend and 2 shares in Access for every 7 Diamond shares. The deal can even be sweeter if the loss being expected in Diamond Bank for Q4 comes lower than being anticipated (minimum of N150b). Access is already depressed and the chances that it will go lower than the current N6.30 is low. But what do we know, this market can say anything.

There are good stocks that have over the years delivered good returns and are still delivering good returns and will continue to do so with the right management in place. GTBank, Zenith Bank, Total, Mobil, Nestle etc.

That is why you do not have to sleep. Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4 results are there for you to analyse. Online trading platform is also available to bail out at the speed of light. Lafarge Wapco used to be a good stock but the signs that things are not ok have been there since. In this market, you cannot go to sleep

That now depends on the company performance, their Q4 and other reports going forward. No one have answer to your kwesion except God or maybe the board and Mgmt.

2. If they succeeded, as it has high percentage of succeeding, access bank will suffer it, because it will take them at least 2 years to balance up after the payment.
In Nigeria everything is possible, I wish those in the bus well.

#17.01- #7(dividend)= #10.1(Diamond 7 units)

#10.1/2=#5.005 (Access 1 unit)

You just said my mind, for a market like ours with so much uncertainty as regards company management /government policies, a well diversified portfolio would be appropriate, (probably 5-10 fundamentally sound stock), these stocks should only be picked when it becomes cheap[low PE/Close to year low] , then he can rebalance his portfolio from time to time
