If you wanted to keep it Nigerian - don't bring it to Foreign Affairs thread - solely dedicated to comparing the shitty Nigeria and the progressive Kenya. Yes Kenya became the first country in Africa to annual it's presidential election. THAT IS PROGRESS. HUGE PROGRESS by our Justice System. Danielnino00: 1 Like |

Fact is our courts showed Kenyans and the world that a presidential election of a sitting president can be annulled. Obviously the loser knew he had no chance at repeat election but that is a story for another day. There was another petition after the first one - and that one was rejected. Now that is democracy 101. In Africa - Zambia - probably can hold the candle to Kenya when it come to long period of democratic elections. We can may add Tanzania. The rest of Africa have had military rules and suspended democracy for long periods. Ghana has emerged a strong democracy after short period of military rule and Nigeria ought to learn from her. I had quickly checked your election thread - boy that sounds like party nomination in kenya - missing ballots or not enough - open voter bribery - violence. You need to annual your elections so many times. As for corruption - we always rank like 3 or 4 position below you - which honestly is such a shame. It one of thing that is holding our potential and we are working on it. I think eventually we will leave Nigeria in that shameful list of corruption. Danielnino00: |

rvp2018: Frayam is not based in Lagos. They are based in the US. Lagos and even your Nairobi are their branch offices. The co-founders are many and a Kenyan is part of the team. So your attempt at trying hard to discredit these reports is futile https://fraym.io/team/ 1 Like 1 Share

It was co-founded by some Americans and the Nigerian lady -QUEEN C. NWORISARA-QUINN . And that is why they are churning lots of Nigeria heavy stuff. I have no problem with that. They should restrict their studies to Nigeria - and maybe Kenya where they have some office. Otherwise they are producing totally shitty data - like Yemi Kale of NBS. forgiveness: |

And you think all these other African commissions of election are very competent. Elections were annulled because of our judiciary now have cojones. An erection without cojones is pretty useless. We have very mature institutions now. The fight against graft is ongoing. And our fight is more sustainable because it's not driven by Buhari (personality) but institutions. Strong institutions are what eventually defeat corruption. Anything else is not sustainable. And I don't think we are more corrupt than Nigeria. These are 'perception" studies. Kenya are just more perceptive of the problem of graft. You cannot be that corrupt and thrive. In any case we are working on our corruption problem...and I expect to see change of perception. Americans and a Nigerian. That is why they are based in US, Lagos and of course like everyone else is realizing you need to be in NAIROBI if you want to do anything in Africa - Nairobi is the hub. Your fight against corruption can be summarized as Buhari. Kenya started fighting corruption in 1990s. When you were still under Sani Abacha - we had formed the first Anti-Corruption Commission(KAAC) - and we have seen it all - for 30yrs - and now we know very well the only way to sustainably fight corruption is through institutions. And it's not easy fight. But ours is a sustainable fight. We formed that KAAC in 97 - was declared unconstitutional later - then formed another one and now have EACC that anchored in the constitution. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenya_Anti-Corruption_Authority It's very hard to fight corruption when you're a democratic nation like kenya where thieves enjoy all sort of rights from corrupt justice systems...but we are slowly and surely going to slay it by focussing on institutions. rvp2018: People could still tell your tribe by your name here too. They can easily tell me my tribe but putting it on your ID makes you feel different from other Ethiopians and it says that your tribe matters than your nationality. I wanted to reply to what you have said before, which is related to Ethiopia being divided is good option. . .which is not. The people are being blind here enji they could work it out together. Amhara people are always ready to make unity with other Ethiopians. Southern Ethiopians and Amhara don't clash. Just the others which are driving us crazy. Sometimes I think it is a disease. They don't have any point. Still Amharas are dying and getting misplaced, you will never hear them wanting to separate and this is one thing every Ethiopian knows. May God help others to be like the Southern Ethiopians too. |
Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by rvp2018: 12:30pm On Feb 23, 2019 |
I think oromos and somalis have huge axes to grind because they feel historically and for like 100yrs plus - the Amharas and lately the Tigrayas has had it good. That is what need to get resolved if Ethiopia is to remain united. Oromo and Somali grievances need to be heard and somehow redressed. Hidding tribes or banning it like Rwanda won't help. I can tell you what we have done in Kenya. We recognised tribes and have put criteria that any appointment must reflect the face of kenya. We do tribal census of jobs to ensure every tribe is getting their % of jobs. If there is a gov job - an omo person or anuak from deep southern ethiopia applied - they are more than guaranteed to get. We do the same for women(33%) and disabled(5%). We also have equisalation fund to help those regions that historically have remained marginalized. This is work in progress obviously but we learnt some lesson from our 2017 tribal warfare. You guys already have strong federalism. What is needed is to just ensure national resources are equitably distributed. Do census of police & army - ensure tigrays are 5% - oromos are 30% or something like that. Otherwise Oromos and Somalis will always feel the need to attack Amharas and Tigrays. ednited: 1 Like |

I think South Africa will eventually catch up with Kenya if they are not careful. As for Ghana - I think the trauma of Jerry Rawling is still fresh in any corrupt mind. We don't have the luxury of allowing military man like Jerry Rawling to clean up our mess. The same way Kagame is single-handily dealing with corruption. And as you well know we have been very democratic (by african standards) the longest with maybe Zambia & TZ - and Botswana. Anyway corruption is a big problem in Kenya. We need to continue dealing with it. And we are. Not through Buhari or some personality but through building and rebuilding institutions. Danielnino00: |
